Ok for the longest time I've wondered.. what is trueshield really used for? I know what the ab says but what the nil does it do since it isnt shieldparry

Well, according to the ab file, it offers protection for the arm wielding it, head, chest and gut.

Without trueshield, it only protects the arm wielding it.

AB COMBAT TRUESHIELD

While any dunce can hold a shield and protect an arm, by practice and training you are able to position your shield by second nature, allowing further protection to your arm wielding the shield as well as your head, chest and gut. Note that while it is physically possible to wield two shields, doing so is so cumbersome that you will lose all benefit from both shields.

Ya but... my wielding arm usually takes the most damage

No it doesn't. If you bother to test, you'll notice that the arm wielding the shield takes a lot less damage, and significantly less wounding.

I wish I had an opposable thumb on my right foot, so I could protect that right leg better.

BTW, is Trueshield working as intended? I remember hearing from someone that even with that skill, the shield was still only protecting the arm wielding it.

*Well, got my answer testing with Terenas. Trueshield does not increase the effectiveness of wielding a shield. The shield continues to only give damage and wounding protection to the arm that is wielding it.

Well that obviously doesn't sound right, I will look into that tonight and see whats going on.

What attacks did you use? If possible a break down with number of attacks, how many were blocked, where targeted, amount of damage/wounds, etc for both with and without trueshield. Try to keep all other factors out of it if possible.

I am not going to sort through it, because frankly I am annoyed with you. Here is the buffer of the log. It was a short test, but it showed that the gut was not being protected by the shield as the ab file on Trueshield states it should.
