Drill Sergeant Vika and Trooper Njal of the Ur’Guard seek Magnagoran mercenaries, of the sixtieth circle or lower, to form a coterie. The coterie will be a joint effort for fun, power, and status in The Basin. Message Vika for details. Laggards and cretins need not apply.

I like those two, they're so cute.

No fair, "coterie" was used first by the Moondancers! Copyright infringment!

Heh heh, that was the first thing I thought too...

No clue what that is, but the word itself is part of the Moondancer advancement program. Pick another word!
(Not saying the Moondancers came up with the word, just that they were the first to use it IG to my knowledge.)

co·ter·ie
A small, often select group of persons who associate with one another frequently.
It's succinct and adaptable.

Out of curiosity, whats the point? I don't know what your going after, so I won't say anything cause I'll prolly be wrong...
Sekreh2005-10-23 23:13:30
Reminds me of the words of everyone's favorite novice Avtain, now deleted because of the Age Requirement:
"You want to join this thing? I'm making a guild, only for all types. It'll be like a gang, only good"
Coterie was, of course, beyond his 11 year old vocabulary

mercenaries hey? sounds like fun
Sekreh2005-10-24 02:13:45
Doesn't it just? Mercenaries are a nice opprotunity to arr-pee and add some diversity to our politics. We need more factions!

The vision is simple. Having a close knit team of interesting, fun, competent people to roleplay, hunt, and quest (among other things) is one of the joys of playing a RP-enforced game.
Richter2005-10-24 05:08:08
Murphy, you and I should go merc.

Please, no. It's already bad enough with Daganev having it. At least nobody else has noticed that you do too, now
Richter2005-10-24 06:46:16
Yeah, I didn't announce it or anything.
However, mercenaries are those that have knighthood, athletics, hunting, and have left their city/commune. So... me leaving Glomdoring wouldn't really affect you Xenthos.

Richter I'd advise you not to go merc
They might end up being the D'cente` new target

A mercenary is basically an adventurer driven by profit. How can that interfere with guild and city obligations?
Marcalo2005-10-24 12:23:54
i have seen so many groups like this come and go on achaea, and aetolia its not even funny, i will honestly give this group 3 months at the most, then they will piss some one off. Then we will see a rival group rise up filled with anti merc people and crush them, i haven't met one person who was able to successfully pull off this rp line, so good luck to ya, but i doubt it will get ya anywhere besides having to worry about when you log in if narsrim or who ever is going to be waiting to jump you.
Murphy2005-10-24 12:51:39
psh, i could pull off being a merc if i wanted to
i much prefer having a commune, guild, champ artifact and power plus backup at my disposal and i still get to have my dreadlords

First of all, Richter is not more than one person, so I'm not sure who "they" refers to.
And second, if I went mercenary, and became your family's new target, I'd probably end up issuing the lot of you (and I hate issuing people) for having no reason to kill me, other than the fact that I'd no longer have a commune, and M3taGae/\\/\\1ng iz fuN!
It's people like that, that make Lusternia less fun.
