I think Ialie's second one is perfect for Ixion.

Murphy's above post describes why we let the winner choose the message, as there is only one of them and each side would want something more suited to their tastes... ok so really I forgot to write the message and that sounded like a good excuse but... doh.gif

1st Person: Raising your amulet defiantly and paying the customary 5-credit-per-use royalty to the person who wrote this description, you...

What? Since you didn't say anything about how many credits, I figured I'd save us all some trouble and write the contract right into the description...

Well!

If you're going to be that way about it, forget it! Just forget it. nonono.gif

If I like it a lot I might get spiffy and drop a load of creds on someone hmph.

Melan is writing some up too... there's some stiff competition out there.
Kiarlea2005-10-23 06:43:04
Does the actual amulet have a description at present?
Ixion2005-10-23 06:52:33
Formed into a diamond shape with the top point cut off, this amulet hangs by a strong silver chain, its bronze surface giving off a dull sheen. Stronger than that, however, is the golden glow that emanates from the thrumming glyphs and runes upon the amulet, becoming brighter and fainter as the symbols pass through a spectrum of colour. Small, regular notches are cut into the amulet around the symbols, occasionally filling with an indistinct light as the emblems shift into certain colours.
It weighs about 6 pounds.
It bears the distinctive mark of Kalas Ixion, Ur'Commander.
Ialie2005-10-23 06:55:52
How come my vials bear the distinctive mark of a rockeater?
Ixion2005-10-23 06:56:41
Less hijacks, more writing!
Richter2005-10-23 07:41:54
I might try to recreate my lost work if there's enough credits...
Kiarlea2005-10-23 08:27:04
First person:

Clasping a bronzed amulet in your hand, you remove it from your neck and hold it one hand, the silver chain dangling unnoticed between your fingers as you concentrate on the soul of $name. Whispering in a dark language, you touch various notches and runes around the amulet and suddenly call out, "$name!" The golden glow encompassing the amulet increases until it blinds, and and a hush settles around you as the light disappears, and $name appears in front of you, unharmed.

Second person:

Ixion removes a glowing bronze amulet from his neck, grasps it in one hand and begins murmuring in a strange, dark language. The golden glow encompassing the amulet intensifies as Ixion's fingers trace a pattern around the amulet, growing brighter and brighter until it blinds you. As Ixion calls out your name, the glow clears, and you find yourself unharmed once more in your body.

Third person:

Ixion removes a glowing bronze amulet from his neck, grasps it in one hand and begins murmuring in a strange, dark language. The golden glow encompassing the amulet intensifies as Ixion's fingers trace a pattern around the amulet, growing brighter and brighter until it blinds you. As the light becomes almost unbearable, you hear him call out, "$name!", and when your vision returns, you see $name in front of you, whole again.

Meh. I'm too lazy to think of something better right now. I'm hungry.
Raezon2005-10-23 09:07:35
Quick and dirty because it's 4am

Whispering $+(lname$)'s name into the air, the breathy utterance flows across the surface of the amulet and the runes suddenly expand and contract in rhythm with your heart. Without warning each glyph brightens in luminescence, the bronze melting and then suddenly bursting into pure flame which explodes with an intensity to rival the sun. As the radiance subsides you notice $(lname$) standing healthy and whole once again.

Ixion suddenly whispers Shikari's name into the air, the breathy utterance flowing across the surface of the amulet and the runes suddenly begin to expand and contract to some unknown beat. Without warning each glyph brightens in luminescence, the bronze medallion suddenly bursting into pure flame which explodes with an intensity to rival the sun. As the radiance subsides you notice Shikari standing healthy and whole once again.

You feel someone whisper your name, the breathy utterance gripping your soul and slowing its descent. A flicker of flame radiates through the void and your eyes slowly become accustomed to its illumination. Suddenly and without remorse the fire consumes your soul, the searing pain becoming almost more than you can bear. A brillant light blinds you as the threads of your life are slammed home into their physical housing, your muscles slowly contracting as you stand once more, newly restored.

What, you're after the credits, Raez?

No fair Divine competing!

QUOTE(Ialie @ Oct 22 2005, 02:03 PM)
Or how about
You died, sucks to be you. Oh wait Ixion's here. *poof* you are brought back to life.
Hahah $name died. What a freaking loser. Oh wait Ixion is here. *poof* $name has been brought back to life.
Man I rock!! This person died and I can totally play Jesus and bring them back to life with my trusty amulet. "Be healed" my child you say doing your way to cool Jesus pose. YOu add in some break dancing for extra effect and *poof* $name comes back to life.

Gotta be this one, without a doubt.

hmm, or Raezon's... would you really give a got credits if he won?
Sekreh2005-10-23 21:22:42
First person

Grasping the amulet in one hand, you clench your teeth and bow your head. Suddenly, the air around the amulet warps and contracts irregularly, reality contorting in response to your power. Fissures split the air itself in visible spatial clefts that leap towards the inanimate corpse of Shikari. Funneling some of your own life force through these discontinuities, you challenge the Fates and seize Him from the land of the dead as He rises anew.

Third person

Ixion grabs the amulet that rests around his neck and bows his head. Suddenly, fissures erupt from the amulet, spliting the air itself in visible spatial clefts that leap towards Shikari's inanimate corpse. As the discontinuities reach their target, a substance black as the darkest night and as viscous as tar begins to creep along them, eventually slamming into the body. Shikari awakes bewildered even as they dissipate.

Second person

Without warning, you feel yourself being drawn inexorably towards your body. Explosions of light erupt all around you as space contorts and folds upon itself, moving you in directions one wouldn't normally think possible. Finally, you are drawn through a small cleft in the metaphysical wall that separates the living from the dead. Siphoned into your previously inanimate corpse, you awake, your surroundings slowly fading into view.

You know you want it
Raezon2005-10-24 03:53:52
Heh, I'd give them out to the Order for the holidays, or whatever title Estarra gives the december'ish holidays.

I could always get a gem of clo... er maybe some greater ru... hmm, I'll learn some lessons in... this is really hard. I'll buy Viravain a flower pot! Ahah!

Multiple first persons:
Looking around furtively you slip on some cool robes, start wielding a dark blade, and suddenly have this strange addiction to blue flame. Rubbing your temples you will Shikari back into life... isn't it grand being a Divine? The daydream abruptly ends but at least the corpse has returned to life.

A sudden radiance overtakes the room and you realize it's the reflection from the sudden coating of celestial gold that's appeared about your form. Admiring the view in a mirror you twirl and spin, reveling in the brightness. Grabbing your lance you plunge it into the corpse of Geb and it springs back to life, breathing once again. Sadly, your delusion leaves you and the gold and mirror disappear but Geb still appears alive.

Tendrils of shadow overtake your vision and spiders crawl from your mouth coating the corpse of Ixion. The toxins course through the bloodless body until it twitches back into life, the venoms animating its re-awakened body. You blink away the shadows and search about the room but the supposed spiders are nowhere to be found. Still, Ixion shakes his head as if awakening from some terrible nightmare.

You look up and a small feather floats down from the heavens and you reach out to grasp it. As you stretch your hand upwards, the sudden weight of a pair of wings remind you of your capability for flight and you leap skyward. Looking down on the poor doomed corpse of Narsrim you exhale softly, willing your compassionate nature upon the still form. Shaking your head, you discover your feet are still on the ground but Narsrim stands alive wonderingly staring at a feather.

Love that first one Raezon
Jack2005-10-24 05:07:48
Clenching your amulet in your fist, you close your eyes tight and concentrate of the flickering, effervescent soul of in front of you. You frown in concentration as a miasma of shadows flickers irregularly across your skin: with a final grunt of effort you force the shadows into the hapless form of , and with a howling gale whipping about it, a bloodied body erupts from the aether, mouth opened in a silent scream, eyes glazed over with dumb gratitude.

Ixon clenches a small, bronze amulent in his palm: closing his eyes and frowning in concentration, he seems to center himself on the effervescent soul of , floating morosely in the air. You stifle a gasp as Ixion grunts in concentration and a horde of shadows erupt from his tense form, tearing into the soul of and forcing it back into old body, mouth opened in a soundless scream.

You cannot help but watch in puzzlement as Ixion clenches an amulet of bronze to his chest, hands clenching tightly, eyes closed tight. As his concentration deepens, you find you cannot move or even speak: all you may do is open your mouth as wide as you can as a mass of tainted scum envelops you and your wretched soul is forced back into your battered, bloodied carcass, indebted for life - or death - to Ixion.
Shamarah2005-10-24 14:26:45
Hopefully this isn't too lurid...

Clenching your hand around a bronze amulet with gleaming glyphs and runes and holding it up before the soul of Bob, you focus your mind upon the creation of a new body from the materials around you. A miasmic cloud of tainted earth surrounds Bob's amazed soul as the materials transmute themselves into bone to form a bare and dull (race) skeleton. You continue to focus as the swarming cloud continues to whirl, and horridly glistening muscles and organs appear to hang limply and groteqsuely off and inside of the bare skeleton while earth penetrates the eerily grinning skull to form a gray, pulpy brain. Thankfully, the organs are quickly concealed by the rapid growth of flesh upon the bones, crawling hurriedly over them like a rapid infestation of mold to finally complete the new body. Bob shakes his new head, seemingly disoriented, as his skin molds itself to the body to form its proper shape.

Ixion clenches his hand around a bronze amulet with gleaming glyphs and runes and holds it up before the soul of Bob. As you watch in fascination, bits of earth fly out from the surroundings and a miasmic cloud of dust and dirt engulfs his amazed soul. The dirt begins to transmute itself into dull white bone, forming a bare and horrid (race) skeleton. As the cloud continues to whirl incessantly, it starts to form muscles and organs, which hang limply and grotesquely off and inside of the bare skeleton while earth penetrates the eerily grinning skull to form a gray, pulpy brain. You breathe a sigh of relief as the organs begin to be obscured by the rapid growth of flesh on the bones, as the skin crawls hurriedly over them like a rapid infestation of mold to finally complete the new body. Bob shakes his new head, seemingly disoriented, as his skin molds itself to the body to form its proper shape.

You float before Ixion as a disembodied soul, watching as he tightly grips a bronze amulet with gleaming glyphs and runes and hold it up before your soul. Bits of earth begin to fly out from the surroundings, engulfing your body in a dense cloud of dirt that obscures vision. Incredibly, the dirt suddenly begins to transmute itself into bone, forming a skeleton within your disembodied soul. The cloud continues to whirl and muscles and organs form themselves upon and among your bones, gripping them and allowing you to feel your reforming body. You have little time to examine this grotesque new form, however, before bits of skin begin to crawl over it rapidly, quickly expanding and coating the bones in a fleshy exterior. As the new body completes iteslf and the skin molds itself to the bones, your soul is forced inside of it, and you are dazed and confused as you grow adjusted to the new figure.

first.
carefully balancing the bronze amulet upon your palm you begin to focus all your will on resurrecting (name). Quickly the amulet begins to twirl fiendishly within your hand, a dangerous whirring begins to sound as the amulet drills into your palm plucking blood from your veins. The droplets swirl into glyphs of the amulet which flares into a chromatic nimbus of power. With a final pulse of power you clench your hand halting the amulet and flinging the spiritual incandescence out into the world and with a bellow of (name) you sculpt the aetheric forces into the form of (name) saving (him/her) from death.

second
Sharp pain pulses through your being, like your soul has been impaled. A resonating whirring sounds surrounded your body vibrating you to the core as spinning flares of chromatic light begin to circulate your body. Your ephemeral form begins to tumble in the air twisting at a counter rhythm to the luminescence. Suddenly with a jolt your body stops in mid turn and the burning aetheric energies surge into your being rebuilding your body and rejuvenating your mind, with a blinding moment of clarity you realize you have been resurrected by the will of Ixion.

third
You watch as Ixion balances a brass amulet upon his palm and frowns at it, deep in concentration. The Amulet screams into motion twirling with a frantic speed upon his palm spraying blood into the air surrounding the amulet while a corona of chromatic light burns into existence. With a flick of his wrist Ixion grasps the Amulet stopping it in mid motion and sending the silver radiance to crash around (name) who writhes in agony as (his/her) body is forged a new from aetheric power.

it's 2 am, someone else can fix the grammar
Unknown2005-10-25 22:18:09
Are you still taking suggestions for this? If so, here are my ideas:

First Person:
Graciously deeming the soul of $SomeDeadGuy worthy of rebirth, you begin a dark, raspy incantation. In answer to your call, your amulet rises from its place on your neck. Each rune flares to life as you recite its name. Your voice grows louder with each word, and with each word the amulet radiaties more dazzlingly. As you finish your incantation, the brilliance suddenly implodes back into the amulet, dragging with it all other light from the area. The darkness that follows is absolute, and from within you hear a strange scraping sound, followed by a heart-wrenching scream of agony. As suddenly as it had vanished, light again floods the location. Your amulet has retaken its proper place around your neck, and $SomeNotDeadAnymoreGuy stands before you, alive.

Second Person
Your slowly become aware of a faint, dark chanting. As the voice grows louder and more insistent, you sense a dark force scouring the dead, searching for your soul. You attempt to resist, but you are unable to escape. The force grows closer to you, until you feel its presence surround you, and suddenly the chanting stops. You scream in agony as tendrils suddenly lash out at you from every direction, burning your soul with their touch. As if in answer to some silent comand, the force drags your soul downward in a torturous spiral. When you are finally released, you open your eyes and look upon the face of Ixion. You are alive once more.

Third Person
After considering $SomeDeadGuy for a moment, Ixion begins to speak in a dark language you cannot understand. In answer, his bronze amulet rises of its own accord to float inches above his head. Each rune on its surface flares to life in turn. His voice grows louder with each word he speaks, and with each word the amulet radiates more dazzlingly. As he finishes his incantation, the brilliance suddenly implodes back into the amulet, dragging with it all other light from the area. The darkness that follows is absolute, and from within you hear a strange scraping sound, followed by a heart-wrenching scream of agony. As suddenly as it had vanished, light again floods the location. Ixion stands again wearing his amulet, and $SomeNotDeadAnymoreGuy stands before him, alive.

So, Ixion my good man, any progress on the judging side of things? You're keeping me in suspense here!
