Honors quests

Is it just me or do honors quests not reset as often now? I gather all of the toys for the Estelbar quest, wait, see that they repopped, go over, and the cubs aren't ill yet. I suppose it's good because it keeps the inflation down, but it makes me sad because I have nothing better to do but pop into the villages every now and then and get disappointed. sad.gif

We need advanced quests.. and a village fame system to encourage raiding versus non-raiding (I.E. You piss off the furrikin and they're less inclined to give you anything more than the base quests, if anything at all).

But I agree. I think I had stopped visiting villages eventually..
Asarnil2005-10-23 02:24:20
KidHendrix we have that already. If you are enemied to a village, you cannot do any of the quests that city provides, if you try they either ignore you or start attacking you.
Kiarlea2005-10-23 04:25:59
It seems to take at -least- an hour to reset in Estelbar, though Dairuchi seems to reset much quicker. Probably because the honours line takes so many times to get it.

Eh.. there's still like 7 other villages to bring a cow to. Doesn't seem to be a real incentive. And even after that there's parley (Which is a bit extreme) or amnesty if you have Expert Influence.
Acrune2005-10-23 05:29:51
I dunno, I can't get all the gorgog quest items before one of them resets. If it ever was any faster, that rift'd never close, unless you got help of course tongue.gif
Vix2005-10-23 05:31:28
For that, just make the merian mariner row faster. It's seven freaking rooms yet he takes longer than it takes the Achaean rowers to get to those islands. mad.gif
Acrune2005-10-23 17:27:58
Yeah, wish there was a way that I could just say 'Hey mariner, meet me there. I'll gather the pigs, get a snack and take a nap while you're rowing'
Serrin2005-10-24 08:08:41
Speaking of honours quests. How the heck do you get any information on them?

Noone seems inclined to help you along by pointing you in the right direction, hell I can't even get people to help me find Seratul in Magnagora so all those spectre bodies I collected decayed. I also can't ever seem to figure the quests out. This is probably because someone who has the quest memorized and has done it a thousand times already did it, leaving me screwed and in the dark.

Mostly it depends on the quest.

For Honors quests, or quests that mostly help yourself out, there's purposly very little information. The basis is that they are puzzles to be picked over and solved or not solved. For some, the act of realizing there IS a quest there is part of the puzzle (and a reason to Greet everyone you see and travel everywhere you can). Add the people who have reasoned it out, solved it, and now using it as their means of income and things can get ugly.

For quests like the spectres, the pixies, and the village commodity quests which help your nation, first place to check is the CHELP files (CHELP INDEX let's you see the entire list) and the projects (PROJECTS lets you see that). They may be silent partialy because the information is already out there ( I don't believe that's right, but there it is). If there is no file, the best thing to do is to speak to people directly: Asking for help via CT tends to come back with silence, but asking on GT, or better in a modest tell to an official works ALOT better. Along with that, advocate for that very file to get added in. A nation that won't advertize and help others in doing their power quests is a nation that is at least not growing, and possibly dying.

estelbar takes roughly 1 1/2 hour to 2 hours to reset, acknor takes about 3-4 hours to reset. i don't know how long the others take off hand, but generally they are between a hour and 6.

Gorgogs quests are easy to do alone provided nobody botches it, you do things in the right order, and can dive.

Well.. it's all listed under CHELP SPECTRES for Magnagorans... and if you're not Magnagoran.. well.. why would you want to know? ..unless you just wanted to be generally friendly, in which case anyone Magnagoran could explain it all to you.

I do the spikes quest -all- the time now, once I figured out that it gave me 25% karma per run...

And Seritul is within the boneyard, or something similar, northwest corner of Magnagora. Check out one of the maps, go down into it, and if you find you can't go any further, LOOK at the room, and it might help. biggrin.gif

I haven't yet heard you ask about Seritul. That's one question I do answer, I pointed Richter in his direction.

As for honours quests, I'll try to give hints, but I'm not going to solve them for you- if I hear you ask. Haven't heard you ask about any of these, either.

If you're really stuck somewhere, you can send me a message and I'll try to give you a few pointers in the right direction when I get on.

I like it better when no one knew the quests. Estelbar is seemingly -always- done now. I'd much rather be helpful to the furrikin, but with it done, all I have left to do is harass Acknor. sad.gif
Genos2005-10-24 21:44:55
The only thing I don't like about honour quests is that you can do a bit of it and some other random person can come finish it. This has happened to me twice, since I stumbled upon something new thinking it was a basic quest and got two honour lines by doing it. Once in Acknor, and once in the Toronada Tidal Pools on an alt. Maybe I'm just too lucky?
