Has Serenwilde decided to stop using wisp until that point, then?  If so, I haven't heard anything about it.

Please go back, read the quote, and ask yourself: is my comment relevant to what I just quoted? If so, explain.
Unknown2005-10-27 00:35:57
Nope, I'm sure Serenwilde characters will still use it.
But Eiru is giving her opinions on those who are acting 'dishonourably'. I just thought I'd point out the same could be said of (her? him? )
Edit: Xenthos was referring to my comment about wisp, Narsrim.

Eiru, you're feminine!
Eiru2005-10-27 00:55:41
I'm a he, his, thank you.
And what, may I ask is this game mechanic that I have abused?
To be quite honest, you're not under any obligation to be "honorable" to your enemies now, are you? And please keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion, since there are at least a couple of the higher-ups in the moondancers who go to any lengths they can to find and abuse bugs, or use the cheapest tactics they can in combat, and they just get cheered on.
But when did Grace + Moonbeam become a means designed solely for theft? If perhaps we were talking about pooka, then that's a different matter since the defenses against that is truly a simple thing AND it was designed that way and for that purpose.
Perhaps I am a little bit harsh, but remember I'm not on a campagin to sway people's beliefs about the moondancers. Also you people seem to forget that I was merely pointing out that it is funny indeed how the "evil" guilds in Lusternia prohibit theft while the Moondancers do not.
I'm not the one who got all defensive and hijacked this topic.

I'd like to know what you are trying to imply I have abused considering I've never once gotten in trouble for abuse of any shape or form, this should be grand.

Wisping from an enemy demesne was the 'cheapest tactic' I was referring to. And you're quite right, you're under no obligation to act honourably or consider other players.
I also didn't say abuse.
Unknown2005-10-27 01:01:05
I believe domination wasn't designed for theft, it's just one of many things you can do with it.
Narsrim, don't you have 'any' consideration for other players? It's a game, remember? We're all here to have fun. I guess if you had a way to permanently kill some character ICly, you'd use it on someone who had built this character for a year and clap merrily because, damn, you're such a great roleplayer?

I don't recall naming any names, Narsrim, feeling guilty?
What are you talking about, Elryn?
The battle we had earlier on Faethorn? I was under the impression we were in Faethorn, and we had a druid with an active demesne who kept naming people that entered the demesne.
If you were NOT in Faethorn and we were, how could I wisp you?
If I'm wrong then I apologise, I get lost easily on Faethorn .
Oh. I see. I thought that was the norm, after all, it's certainly been done to me countless times, I see no grounds for your claim about it being dishonorable if your side uses it with abandon, should I just wait and be wisped myself, then?

I anticipated this response after you would imply persons without naming them because you have no factual information to share, just propaganda. You have made accusations in other threads. Excuse me for being able to "read between the lines."
Unknown2005-10-27 01:07:38
My point is that you can slander any organization's name and call them 'dishonourable', 'cheap' and 'abusers' and clearly you've done so in a snide and ignorant manner.
But why not keep such vitriol in PM's or IM's where the rest of us don't have to hear it?
I don't want to have to bring up past deeds of people in your guild and then use it as a reflection on what sort of person you are.
Ohhh... so if the other side does it, that makes it honourable. Nice!

Touche`, I do hope whatever accusations you claim I have made are unique and unfounded, in which case we don't have any problems.

There's a quote in the Magical Travel thread. I was in Faethorn, but in a natural forest demesne.
Eiru2005-10-27 01:14:20
Hmm.. I hope those people in my guild were not representatives or leaders, and I never claimed that my idea about the guild is what I think about its members, as you can plainly see in my first few posts where I tried to make that clear. All I basically said is that it was funny that... geez. No point in arguing I guess.
But you are correct, this is not the thread for it.
And truly, I apologize, Moondancers, not because of the arguments presented here, since the original ... thing, that started this was that I just thought it was funny that your guild didn't have an anti-theft law, but because perhaps even though I tried not to make a swooping generalization, it turned out to sound that way. A bad apple or two doesn't make the whole guild bad, all guilds have it's share.
Again, sorry.

It is my personal opinion that you are wrong, and my personal opinion that I am in a better position to judge what goes on in the Moondancers than you are.

I did not say they were designed for theft, but the code allows scope for such things. If the designers wished to outlaw theft I am sure they could do so and that was my point.

Good and evil are relative, the Moondancers do not pretend to be either. As far as I'm concerned we work towards goals we feel are beneficial for us and the health of the Basin. Yes, we consider these goals essentially good and our opposition's as essentially bad, but we're willing to do 'bad' things to do what needs doing.

Fair enough.
I'll keep my personal opinions and you keep your own, and we can live happily ever after.

Do you know what I find fascinating? This has turned from a simple discussion of what happned, and ideas of how to prevent it in the future..to an insulting match and argument about guilds...and starting to get personal. Wow, it has changed since I posted

You don't come here often do you?
The issue has already been addressed by Viravain; she said it the code and player will be dealt with. I think that kind of covers the use of this thread then, doesn't it?
Viravain2005-10-27 02:53:00
Bollocks. Why does Quidyboo always forget the first 'a' in my name?
That said, the topic really doesn't need any more discussion, but I'll leave it open in the hopes you all don't resort to arguements and namecalling.
Edit: And yes, I know I spelled his name wrong. Consider it petty but sweet sweet misspelling revenge.
