sleep.gif You don't come here often do you?

The issue has already been addressed by Virvain; she said it the code and player will be dealt with. I think that kind of covers the use of this thread then, doesn't it?

Blind? Bollocks! I think not!

Too bad you really did leave the A out to begin with. ninja.gif
Unknown2005-10-27 04:12:48
My god, you're all going stark-raving mad! Clearly, I didn't leave the 'a' out, and have never done so. What do you think I did, went back and 'edited' it? What is this 'edit' you speak of, hmm?
Unknown2005-10-27 04:35:19
The simple solution is just make moonbeaming to a person an aggressive action, so graced people can't use it.

EDIT: Yes, I did skip most of this topic.
Unknown2005-10-27 04:40:34
I don't like that idea Guido; poor novices and recently dead people won't be able to use it. Why change Moondbeam when the code around Grace or entering stockrooms can be adjusted?
Terenas2005-10-27 05:02:23
Novices won't be able to even get Moonbeam, so I don't know what you're talking about. And if you just recently died, you can always instantly reject grace and wait another 6 seconds to beam. It's not that big of a deal.

This has happened before in Achaea, especially with prism tattoo, grace, and novices. I don't recall exactly what happened, but I believe it was changed so that you can't prism while under grace and that novices can't interract in the stockroom.

Yes well I obviously didn't think my post through vefy well, did I tongue.gif?

Still, I'd rather just have the adjustments made to Grace/stockrooms, rather than Moonbeam.

Don't forget that has implications for Avenger justice.

Edit: Not that I'm arguing against teleporting counting as aggressive, just pointing out what it means.

I find it interesting that some people have taken this opportunity to attack the Moondancers as a guild when the very first post from a player in the Moondancers (me) was saying to contact Moondancer leadership ingame. Also, the most infamous thief in Lusternia was NEVER a Moondancer. The Nihilists have rules for it now? Nice. They didn't when Yrael was stealing people's shop keys and stealing everything he possibly could from their shops. I also don't recall the world screaming to have domination nerfed because he did it. This kind of behavior would've never been permitted in the Moondancers.

The first Fae a Moondancer can summon is a leprechaun. Its sole purpose is to steal. Therefore, when it comes to theft, the Moondancers cannot simply say THEFT IS WRONG! That would be bad roleplay. The Moondancers have never had an issue with one of their members being a 'thief'. It has been widely understood within the guild that theft used to certain ends is acceptable. This is not one of those acceptable cases and the guild -is- handling it. For every one of you who say Voron should've been outguilded immediately, would that have really helped? Would the Moondancers then have the control to confiscate the stolen items? No.

The Moondancers are far from being a 'nice, do whatever you want' guild and to insinuate that we do not handle misbehavior in our guild is laughable. We may not handle it in the manner of your choosing, but guess what, it's not YOUR guild. If you don't like how we handle things, you're more than welcome to make a Moondancer, contest the current leadership and change things.

I'm wondering about the idea of having grace last a much shorter time (enough time to go "AKKK! What happened?!", step outside, and sprint/teleport/whatever to get out. 60 seconds max?). This isn't the first time Grace has been an issue and the shorter time should let it do it's intended purpose (getting away from the mass pker) without letting the person rush off and quest/influence/spy/steal/ext.

Yes. ICly, things are on hold until the issues are resolved. That discussion only took several hours past when I should've been gone.  wacko.gif

Grace isn't something we as players can do anything about, to prohibit or punish.

You should never wait on an OOC punishment, as unless he tells you what the decision is, you'll never know what was done about it. Also, your IC guild actions shouldn't ever be influenced by an OOC admin decision.

The concept of Divine Grace is a magic protection issued by the Gods. In this case, some feel the protection was abused and as such the Gods might take action as a result of this. I don't find this to be OOC. The issue itself that Jadryga placed may be - however, that's not what Tsuki meant.

EDIT:

I say this because we had a talk about it for over an hour on just this smile.gif
Iridiel2005-10-27 11:34:04
Lis, what's the fun on outguilding an setting a price on the head of a shrub? I mean, only gardeners could compete for that biggrin.gif

About IC punishment, pity they cannot put a scroll about how bad OOC abuse and metagaming is. Because it'll be difficult to justify IC they're punishing a guy for stealing from a tainted being shop using the Divine Grace... Wich is for some people OOC.

And yes, from what I've seen the Moondancers do care about doing the right thing and RP, much more than other guilds and cities/communes in general. That is one of the reasons they're popular I guess smile.gif
Narsrim2005-10-27 11:36:55
Divine Grace is to my knowledge an IC concept:

help grace
6.14 GRACE

If you have had to resort to praying to the Fates in order to regain your life, then you will be given what is called Grace. Those who walk in grace will find themselves unable to either harm or be harmed by most things.

=====================================================

People consider this OOC?

wacko.gif Eh?

Am I totally misreading what she's saying? It seems she is saying that the IC punishments are on hold until the issues are dealt with, which I am saying should not be done.

Heh. I know what she wrote. I also know we discussed it for over an hour. We decided to wait until the Gods had time to assess whether they wanted to take action for their Grace being violated. I have no idea why Tsuki said "issues," but our action was not being influenced by an OOC ordeal.

IC we are waiting to see if the Gods wants to seize the junk (not for OOC reasons but IC reasons) before we decide where it should go.

I sent you a message to explain this *peer*

Hmm... make moonbeam and teleport aggressive is the best thing I can think of that would solve that. Really got to hate people who abuse grace like that.
212706

wait, so if I moonbeam to an ally on prime I'm ATTACKING them now? Please everyone, stop assuming that everyone uses these things in the worst possible way just because one random stupid Alt that is being punished did it.

Just prevent graced people from interacting with a stockroom. I don't think anyone can be graced permanently here after newbiehood so there shouldn't be any problems with graced shopowning pacifists... or if so just explicitly allow graced ones who are allied to the shop to pick up things.
212713

Again, some people stay below lvl 20 just so they don't have to deal with all of the warrior random killings out there and can be truely a merchant forever, I think Neuf does that.

Again this is something that can't be done
