Legacies

Back to Common Grounds.

to be honest, I doubt I will be remembered for anything noteworthy. not that i never did anything, but I tend to ostrasize everyone around me.
Unknown2005-10-27 13:16:05
A statue up from the Pool that will last (hopefully) forever.

And that's all. My suicide raids on Magnagoran territories are most likely forgotten already, since they happened during open beta.
Gwylifar2005-10-27 13:22:33
Ironically, probably the adders. Most of the things I would have wanted it to be got disassembled, some while I was there and some after I left, or no one knew or knows or remembers my part in them. It would be quite a list otherwise.

I hate to say it but I don't think I would have a legacy at all. I'm a very middle of the road type of person and while i'm sure Klia's influenced a few lives, I don't believe there is any single outstanding thing I have done.

Sad really

Being a major supporter of the Aquamancers leaving Celest or Celest becoming a reasonable city who uses common sense and cares about _all_ their citizens and not only those with halos tongue.gif

Going dormant just to become an active forum poster who cannot take OOC IC and thus can post all she want and read everything wink.gif

Wrong. Klia will be always remembered as The One With a Hard To Understand Accent.

My thread has already been cut... what is my legacy? Not as much as I had hoped. I remember ordering a few people that should the Glomdoring commune every come out they must have a 'CHELP GUIDO', but I guess that fell through. Viravain's anti-tainted forest stance didn't help that too much.

I hoped I'd be remembered in Glomdoring as one of their most fervent supporters and allies in the early days, but due to the sort of people that are now in charge I'm sure half the commune sees me as having been an enemy to their cause.

My maps.

Cat's Paw.

The Shanthine Pride, with all its cartels and its palace.

Many dozens of unique designs, made both by my own hand and by sponsoring other artisans.

Enraging numerous people who thought I should "know my place".

Providing a ready source of gossip and speculation.

Making a whole lot of women feel a little better about themselves, and nurturing a special few to new levels of self-confidence and self-actualization.

Sounds like a gigolo ad.
Nokraenom2005-10-27 18:53:29
Although it's interesting to note what people think they will be remembered for, I highly doubt that most of what they think people will remember is what people will. And, of course, OOC legacies are entirely different from IC ones.

Just as an example (and no offense to you, Exarius!), I've never heard anything about the Cat's Eye. The only things I know about the pride are from forum arguments you got into with Gwylifar. So it's going to be a wide range of people who will remember different things. Those involved with those projects will likely remember you very differently then I will.

So, with that in mind, I decline to comment on what I think I will be remembered for. wink.gif
Narsrim2005-10-27 18:56:21
I think the context is what those around you who you know would remember you for. Obviously if you don't know someone, you aren't going to recall anything about them.
Jack2005-10-27 18:57:18
You'll be remembered for being the Lusternian version of Servelan de Vermiis, Nok, with all yer newsposts advocating the taint.

Right, and I wasn't trying to demean anyone's accomplishments. It's just that "legacy" isn't an immutable word, because it's going to vary based on how well the person knew you, or in what way they interacted with you. Some legacies will be known around the game, and others will only be known to certain groups of people.
tsaephai2005-10-27 19:48:16
i'll be remembered for nothing. yup, i think only about 5 people know who i am inthe realms(well, as in if they had to write a list of every single person that they know in the realms, only five people would write me down.)

No, -this- is what you will be remembered for:

QUOTE(Murphy @ Sep 12 2005, 10:25 AM)
An ornate twin-bladed lance comes crashing down from above, exploding in a
brilliant display of light. When the light reaches its previous levels, you
notice Lord Hajamin standing where the lance had fallen.
4356h, 2250m, 2484e, 10p elrxkdb-
Hajamin, the Golden Lord says to you, "You must be a long lost Divine
brother... here, let Me give you a hug."
4356h, 2250m, 2484e, 10p elrxkdb-
Hajamin runs up to you and squeezes you in a painful, bone-crushing bearhug.
A surge of rejuvenating energy floods your system, healing your wounds.

2177h, 2250m, 2484e, 10p elrxkdb-
Hajamin snaps His fingers and warm water showers down upon Him, and He scrubs
under His armpits trying to wash away that horrible stench.
2177h, 2250m, 2484e, 10p elrxkdb-
Lord Hajamin spins the Lance of Brilliance above His head, causing a blinding
light to flood the area. When your vision returns, you realize He is no longer
standing here.

and...

Hajamin runs up to you and squeezes you in a painful, bone-crushing bearhug.
You have been slain by Hajamin.
Variables reset.
Active mode.
Your body begins the process of transforming into a lich.

EDIT: As for me.. a little Magnagoran that went Celestine and later Aquamancer? mellow.gif
Suhnaye2005-10-27 20:17:10
Hmm... I'd be remembered by the Whytetower family members... And by maybe two or three other people... But probably not many others. As for what I'm remembered for... I'd say I'd most likely be remembered for my being a constant advocate of non-agression... If anything else... Maybe being a philosopher, or scholar... If my string was cut right now, I'd be very dissapointed in myself... Theres a lot more I'd like to accomplish with Suhnaye... Right now, he's pretty much stagnant untill a new nation pops out of the woodwork... But I think he's going to slowly be moving away from the purely pacifist role... It was interesting for a while... But I'm tired of not fighting back, and noone really takes a pacifist seriously unless he's a pacifist by choice and people know if he wanted to he could kick their asses... Then I'd be able to pull it off propperly...

Legacy: peace-lover, pacifist, scholar, and diplomat... Maybe.
Ethelon2005-10-27 21:01:58
It seems my legacy has something to do with statues....
Unknown2005-10-27 21:09:12
And being champion way.. way too many times.

I'm working on mine.

Can't tell if your being sarcastic or not.

Anyway, my legacy will probably be the guy with the name annoyingly similar to Ceres.
