And gone, overnight.
Tan in place. I thank the whole 'drinking 3 litres of water minimum per day' (102 oz for you American types) thing for it.
As for sunblock - I was wearing SPF30. Doesn't do much when burn time is 10-15 minutes.

Heh, sounds like you need those SPF75 sunblocks. (Do they even exist? I seen SPF50s...)

I don't use that stuff..but I never go out without sun screen even though I don't burn easily...with surfing for almost 25 hours a week I need it! No skin cancer for me..

Used to surf. Can't this summer, as my leg's in a cast.
Thanks to spray-on waterproofing (as seen for leather shoes), a roll of neoprene, duct tape, and my drysuit, I can go jetskiing, still. And land jumps surprisingly well.

You are going to hurt yourself so bad.

My grandmother went jetskiing a couple weekends ago. Jumps and all .

but her leg wasn't in a cast.
Athana2005-10-29 04:59:26
Jetskiing really isn't that bad...for some reason I thought he said waterskiing...I'm like whoa he's hard core if he can waterski with one leg!

Not quite that hardcore. This was two days after the cast went on, though - now it's been about a week and a half, I may even manage a brief kitesurf, but I have a feeling my doctor would kill me, if the leg didn't.
Ialie2005-10-29 05:12:42
I probably haven't been out in the sun in 2 years.

Shikari is going to break himself. Why doesn't someone make you stay inside so you can get better? You know if you mess up the leg when it is healing it might look all deformed or you could walk funny for the rest of your life!

I'm not sure about Shikari but for me once you get into water recreation sports like these its hard to keep away even though you're hindered

We'll change that.
And Shikari is bad ass. He knows what he's doing.. somewhat. I'd like to see a tape of it though!

Same for me when I was younger. Loved riding mini bikes, swimming, and playing sports.
Crashed a mini bike getting stitches inside and outside my knee and was told no more sports or swimming while I had the splint
I found out I can run in a splint
Joli2005-10-29 05:36:39
Yes, he is bad but he shouldn't damage the leg before it gets to a point where it is at least partially healed.
Diamante2005-10-29 05:44:58
Ill try and scrounge it up, but I broke my kneecap a couple years back, and less than three months I was attempting to skimboard with a full leg cast up to my hip. we actually got some footage, Ill check if I can upload it later.

I've seen SPF100 once. Might as well wear butter.

Go shikari master of the extreme water sports.
when you find something that is that much fun to do, nothing will stop you not even a broken leg. I had a simlair time where i tore every ligament and tendon in my ankle playing basketball, and ended up still playing on crutches and getting into fights at school (I was a mean crutch wielder)

Who needs to walk when you have Lusternia? Right? Right?
Iridiel2005-10-31 09:26:07
I've seen the 75 sunscreen, but it's usually for people who are allergic to sun. With my skin (mediterranean, I can get burned but I usually manage a good tan) the most I've ever used it's a 15 ro so
Maybe the fact that you're in the water helped the sunburn. That, or australia's sun is really mean.
