Hallifax or Gaudiguch

I saw the cold rigidity to be the most appealing aspect of it. And yes, my first character was Mhaldorian, rofl. But I would steer Hallifax away from evil, and towards a rigid set of rules. Rule a society as a computer might, etc.

Gaudiguch is probably popular because most people like to consider themselves 'individuals' and Gaudiguch was all about individuality. Hallifax, on the other hand, sublimated individuality in favor of society. Heck, though it is not directly mentioned in the histories, Hallifax was also the only city that practiced slavery, having an extremely hierarchal caste system. Indeed, for all its beauty, it was a very scary place.

I 'unno... I've always liked Gaudiguch for its wild and crazy parties. whee.gif

Oo... Hallifax suits me much better than I thought!

I guarantee tha a city that parties all the time will get old.
Revan2005-10-29 15:48:56
Ahh yes... a city in the skies with deceptive beauty.... Magnagora and Hallifax crushing the Basin tongue.gif
Unknown2005-10-30 03:12:46
Oi, maybe I should reincarnate to dracnari now and join the Gaudiguch fanatics... I find it hard to keep a straight face, not even mentioning a rigid and cold mentality :S But then again, trill came from the Goddess of art and beauty, so maybe that will balance things out wink.gif

Yeah, I always got the impression that Hallifax was logical to the point of (if this makes any sense) being illogical and crazy.
Vesar2005-10-30 03:42:52
I envision Halliax as switching sides often. Leaning one way when it is to their advantage, and then switching to another when it serves them.

I hope their RP is heavily logic-based. Less restrictions and such. No "We can't do that! That would be wrong!" With Hallifax I imagine it would be wait..t that's advantageous to us... let's do it!
Qaletaqa2005-11-01 01:45:10
Ohhh the intrigue, the plots, the subservent humanoids! Ohhh my palate is dripping with incessant ooing and ahhing.

Who'd they enslave?
Corr2005-11-01 03:28:19
Dwarves I think someone said.

You fool! harhar1.gif
Aiwendil2005-11-01 11:17:14
Hmm... that might explain why Lucidians are described as "cold and logical" in the races description.

I don't know if evil is the right word to describe Hallifax... maybe just "harshly logicial". Sort of like, "If your death will improve the city in some way, you die. Now. No, we don't care that you have 40 young children to support. They'll grow up and help the city, like it or not. Bye."

But then again, that was old Hallifax. New Hallifax might be different...

Evil is not the right word to describe the taint or pretty much anything in lusternia, but its what people commonly attribute to things which are not by nature or design evil, such as the current taint, the only time it could theoretically be 'evil' was when it was under Kethuru's control, and as such controlled by his will, which it is no longer, but if Hallifax is seen as some cold and hardly logical place which encourages slavery and other 'bad' practices, more then likely it will be classified as 'evil' as well
Narsrim2005-11-01 11:27:05
How does a Lucidian or Trill enslave a dwarf? I mean seriously, they'd get their ass handed to them... as they would when I was a dwarf smile.gif
Unknown2005-11-01 12:16:10
Yeah.

Lucidian vs Dwarf - Dwarf wins.

However:

Lucidian Army vs Dwarf = pwnz3d dwarf.
Unknown2005-11-01 12:18:34
It might also have been "Look. We have your children. If you don't come work for us, we will slowly and carefully dissect them. It is only logical that you listen to us. We know that you are ruled by your emotions. We know you would do whatever is needed to keep your children safe." And once they get them in the mines/sewers/tunnels/whatever they can keep them in line easy enough.
Diamondais2005-11-01 12:18:49
Meh, maybe it will be kinda what Ankrag does with dwarves..werent they in dispute over that mine? If so then Magnagora better watch out sleep.gif

Or to enslave something might be part of their power quest..

Or..theyll have something like what was said before, 'Youll serve to your best uses' and that will be the form of slavery.

I wouldnt know, and Im curious to eventually find out, but that will come when that comes happy.gif
Aiwendil2005-11-03 09:15:24
Maybe they brainwashed them into thinking they were doing it willingly?

I highly doubt Hallifax is or ever will be "evil". The society might be cold and unforgiving, but societies that use slaves may not understand that what they are doing is immoral. Take America for example.

You must also remember that when Hallifax returns, Hallifaxian will be hostile to Magnagora and the Taint. The Taint was the main reason why Hallifax frantically started a series of actions which eventually resulted in freezing Gaudiguch and Hallifax in time.

As for an active clan for Hallifax, after a long time of contemplating, I've decided to purchase a new clan for those intending to free Hallifax. The clan is called Eliz Tirita (strictly translated from Lucidian means "Cloud Friend"). The clan will mirror the successful organizational structure of the Mirh Barosi. Other then that, everything else will be developed and by true enthusiasts of Hallifax. I've personally chosen not to participate, which includes inducting members. So if you wish to join, please seek out Thillieir, Qaletaqa, Wuylinfe or any other leader of CLANHELP TIRITA.

I highly doubt Hallifax CARES about morals.
