Hrm... Kiarlea, you said your 'just a vanilla' right? Whats your exact role?

Ya, I'm not sure if I liked that sliped in semi-claim either, that's useally a scummy thing to do. claiming when you really don't need to yet.
But, since she has, I'd like to hear it in full as well, to be believed, or not believed, either or.
Kiarlea2005-11-20 07:20:27
The reason I was so 'defensive' or aggressive in the last day was because Daganev, surprise surprise, had the same role as I.
I'm an orclach Ur'guard, with nothing to do but try and protect my Emperor. He called us, his soldiers, forward to protect him from those who oppose him - what else are we to do but respond? That's who the vanillas (chocolates, Ibby, chocolates) are in this game, the foot soldiers of the Ur'guard.
Persecute me if you like, I'll happily die in my Emperor's defence while you let those who seek his destruction run free to kill you all.
(Sorry, I'm in a storytelling mood...)

Give us a name them? It always makes me incredibly suspicious to see someone claim plain townie without even a name, since every person in every game I've played with Ibby has had a name, even if it was Timmy. Also, unless it's something like Timmy, it's probably one of the harder things to make up and have sound right.
I'm not going to change my vote yet, but half-claims seem scummy as hell to me, so I'm going to need a reason not to.

Except that Daganev had absolutely no name either, and Kiarlea has (finally!) managed to stop with the OMGUS thing, so at this point I'm actually somewhat tempted to unvote her.
Suhnaye2005-11-20 09:12:03
I think Kiarlea is telling the truth. For one, if she is scum, she's being way more confrontational than a scum should be. Second, I believe her claim... Ibby likely wouldn't have put in just one vanilla townie... More than likely there are three or four... Though I don't envy the others at all... If they're forced to claim its highly doubtfull they will survive, and end up being lynched.
I'm still highly suspicious of Narsrim personally. He continually pushes suspicion on the most obvious people, and to me, scum would endeavor to remain unsuspicious at all times. And Narsrim seems to fit that role nearly to a T.

Kiarlea2005-11-20 11:17:27
I'm a foot soldier... why would I have a name? My emperor doesn't need to know it. I don't need to know it. I'm here for a sole purpose. To protect the Emperor.
If you'd prefer, I can make up a name, but I'll only be proven a liar when you either lynch me or when we succeed in protecting the Emperor and killing off all the opposition.
On a side note, Ibaesha is not predictable. Don't ever assume she won't do something because she hasn't done it before - it's all the more reason for her -to- do it. Keep an open mind and pay attention to people's characteristics, not to what set roles -you- may have defined in your mind already from previous games.

Daganev was modkilled, so I kind of ignored that whole debacle. The list in the first post hasn't been updated for that. Did he truly not have any name at all?
Unknown2005-11-20 11:41:45
Sorry...
Cwin2005-11-20 15:07:46
Guys, I'll repeat just this:
NEVER EVER OUTGUESS THE MOD!
Assuming that "Ibby normaly does this" or "That doesn't sound like Ibby" is a good way to lose.

Well, I now 100% believe Kiarlea is not an initial member of the mafia (though could have been picked up by a cult). She gave her role as foot soldier before we were even told that was Daganev's actual role (his death scene just called him ur'Guard, pro-taint and innocent). Thus, unvote: KIarlea.
The great thing about this is that it shook some things up. I'm putting a FOS on Narsrim and Sylphas. Narsrim for his detailed and elaborate step-by-step reasoning (just seems like *too* much effort for a normal townie), and Sylphas for the "No name? I really want to lynch, but I'm going to hold back to give you one last chance to reason!" On the surface, that seems commendable, but...
Something about that just rubs me the wrong way, Sylphas, especially as you posted shortly after reading Daganev's modkill. Add in the "trying to raise suspicion on somebody already with two votes," along with the "I am going to vote even though you have claimed unless you say something" being more likely to throw her back into a defensive attitude than a helpful one, which just gives more fuel for the fire... you're either genuinely clueless, or something quite a bit worse.

I simply hate half-assed claims. If you're going to claim, read your role, and be clear.
Iridiel2005-11-20 17:50:47
And be killed next night if your role is anything more interesting than "chocolate cookie with a bit of cinnamon"? I understand that people doesn't make full claims unless in dire need or having a not so important role.
I mean, if now somebody comes out of the blue and says he's a scryer I am going to be upset with him, and the mafia would happily kill him/her next night, unless we have more guardians/protectors.

Sylphas2005-11-20 18:00:27
But if you waffle with your claim, it looks like you're making it up as you go along. I'd much rather have, "Hey, I'm a scrier named Bob. Guard please." Then "Yeah, I've got a power role." "What is it?" "Um, scrier." "What's your name?" "Oh, I forgot, lemme check. Bob, looks like."
Either way they'd be targetted by the mafia, unless it is the mafia actually making it up, but one way sounds a lot more convincing, I think. If you're going to come out and claim, do it. If not, don't. It's fine to hint and such during the game, but if you're asked to claim, come out and claim, or tell them to bugger off.

I would suggest that before any scryer claims a protector does, or we make sure we have at least a protector.
I mean... Do you really want a scryer claiming, and then telling him "well... you know... they killed all our prots... Good night!"
Of course, if you're asked to claim, better do it quick and painless and give out as much information as you can just in case you're dead next night (and so we can lynch a scum on the meanwhile)

*checks* Yep, these are the Lusternia forums, not the Mafiascum forums. Pick up the pace or I'll go back to putting in deadlines.

The OMG I can't count votecount.
Vote Count:
Narsrim- 3 (Kiarlea, Suhnaye, Sylphas)
Cwin- 1 ( Iridiel)
Kiarlea – 1 (Narsrim)
Not voting (3): Wesmin, Xenthos, Cwin
5 to lynch.

Nothing to see here, move along.
Suhnaye2005-11-21 13:20:49
I was sort of wondering where everyone was... But looking at the time stamps, we're not terribly quiet... Though for this forum we are... I just don't really have anything more to add right now... So a post like this is really more or less a waste of space...
Cwin2005-11-21 15:25:03
Ok, took another glance at the posts from before and the most that I can get is that Sylphas is silent compared to the rest of us. Can't get more than that.
Oh god no! That's the LAST thing we need. The only reason why it's possible for a scryer to come out without alot of proof is because the protector is still hidden. The scum would be unable to kill the scryer until they hit the protector first (with many other factors involved, of course).
If the protector came out, they either have to sit there protecting themselves every night (making them near useless) or be offed by the mafia, leaving the scryer vulnerable.
Scryer comming out? If they feel the time is right then go ahead. The protector better make SURE they aren't easy to spot.
