So I'm a demo freak. always downloading things. the last two demos I downloaded were weird. They both did the same thing to me
I downloaded the entire thing
Installed it
pressed play game.
When I pressed play game the screen goes black (the normal thing you expect when it goes into the 'loading' precedure but then it just comes back to the desktop.. sad.gif
Shiri2005-11-04 06:19:33
That just happened to me a lot (with real games, I hate demos) when my graphics card didn't support it, you sure you have the specs?
Unknown2005-11-04 06:32:45
Yeah, I was about to say the same thing Shiri did. It's most likely your graphics card not supporting the game.
Munsia2005-11-04 06:56:35
Dont you usually get a message for that?
Munsia2005-11-04 07:07:02
And how do I check my graphic card
Shiri2005-11-04 07:11:23
You do get a message sometimes, but others you don't. Computers are fickle things. angry.gif As for checking your graphics card, I have no idea what computer you're on. If you happen to be on Windows XP, you want Start, Settings, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, See Basic Information About Your Computer, Display Adapters.

Hope that helps a little. wacko.gif
Munsia2005-11-04 07:15:25
Microsoft Windows XP but performance and maintenance isnt there
Joli2005-11-04 07:17:09
For Windows XP:

Go to Control Panel click on System. When in that click the Hardware tab and click Device manager and look under Display Adapters.

That is where mine is listed, but I'm probably way off.. someone correct me if I am. unsure.gif

I think you and Munsia have yours set to the old settings. There's only 10 on mine. You can change between them but I've seen more people with the ones I have than the old ones so I figured I'd say that one.

And your graphics card is your video card, check that one. But I think you need the latest drivers from their website too.

No, really? tongue.gif

EDIT: And to change views on the classic setup/the one I have, there's a button in the top left of the window saying "switch to category window." Easy.

You have an on-board graphics card and not something stand-alone, like ATI Radeon or GeForce (Both very popular). What you could do, depending on your current PC, is go purchase a graphics card (AGP or PCI, but NOT PCI Express) for about $50 or less/more (depending how powerful you want it) if you want to play these games.

Just a suggestion though if this is an everyday thing and you're looking forward to playing more games on your PC in the future.

Haven't run into anything my GeForce 6800 can't handle, if that helps. unsure.gif

I forgot the exact name, but microsoft has this cool service where you can search for a game and see if your computer can run it, and whats missing if you can't.

Its something like Gameanalyzer or some such thing...

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/g...or/default.mspx

Its called the Windows Game Advisor... really handy little tool.
Unknown2005-11-04 08:23:08
laugh.gif 'Cause it's a great card, especially if it has DDR ram.

Ooooooo. I never knew about that...wish you'd told me earlier! I spent like weeks trying to get freaking Sacrifice to work on my old PC. >_< Thanks, that would be cool.
