I... need... reflections...

i think blur should get an upgrade against normal attacks. Have it indexed slighty on your int but more heavily on your level in magic or combat to avoid attacks

Still have crush etc ignore it but for normal attacks....and give blur a mana drain too (a decent one)
Munsia2005-11-05 01:24:36
blur?
Vix2005-11-05 01:25:10
Uh.. timeslip maybe?
Shamarah2005-11-05 01:33:36
Does Blur even work?
Munsia2005-11-05 01:42:06
wtf is blur
Athana2005-11-05 01:43:04
It's a defence in illusions that's suppose to make you harder to hit but I've never noticed any difference
Acrune2005-11-05 02:13:20
Its basically a tool to get your number of defenses up. Thats all I see anyway.

There's always leaving Reflection as a bashing tool and look into a new PvP skill.

Either that or have Reflection act like Faeleaf just as Adrenaline acts like Quicksilver.

That'd work.

He means, have it give you an aura of rebounding.

She....easily expressed by the -female- elfen in her avatar. And her -countless- other posts clarifying that. closedeyes.gif

You really don't want adrenaline in its stage nowaday. It requires full arm balance, not paralyzed, limb balance, and eq, and that's just for the speed defense. It's just really crappy.

Reflections are fine for bashing, and should be left as they are. Blur does need to have some noticeable effect. Perhaps if blur actually notified us when it helped us avoid a physical attack, we could actually gauge how much the skill is helping us. Right now, I nor any other mage I know have noticed any benefit from having blur up as a defense. It is definitely not as noticeable as evade block or weaving was for monks or snakes in Achaea.

Does blur make you more likely to stance dodge or parry?

Syntax: WEAVE BLUR
Distorting the light waves around you will make you a harder target to hit.

That is all the information we receive on it. So, your guess is as good as mine.
Unknown2005-11-05 05:23:39
Hmm, you could try testing it. 50 swings at a stanced/parried area without blur, then 50 swings at a stanced/parried area with blur.

Reflections is a great tool and definitely should NOT be replaced, I've been saying this from the start of the topic, we don't need a new skill to replace reflections, it would just be nice to have it work on active, damaging player attacks as well.. to give us the choice to sacrifice offense to increase our defence, when we get in danger of dying.. reflections simply do not need a replacement.

As to Blur, it's easy changing that, instead of giving some increased chance to dodge, which is determined by Combat and Stances anyway, it should just act as a defence that can be turned on and off, has a mana drain, and offers a 25% chance of any physical attack to be completely avoided. For example:

Letting a dragon-hilted claymore droop, Daevos suddenly heaves it up at you.
Your image suddenly blurs and shifts from side to side, saving you from harm.

Again, reflections do not need to be removed or replaced, they simply need to work on active, damaging player attacks, then they're fixed and working splendid. Replacing them by whatever would just mean a massive downgrade to mages. I didn't make this thread to be downgraded. dry.gif
