In the trees above Before the Master Ravenwood Tree.
The bright sun shines down, blanketing you with its life-giving warmth. The
gigantic form of Crow is perched on a nearby branch here, his dark shadow
spreading across the ground and his single eye glowing a deep red. Among the
leaves and twigs, a giant red weevil scuttles about here. A large wood weevil
explores the weeds here.
You see a single exit leading north.
4356h, 6624m, 4356e, 10p, 26500w exk-
You thrust your palm towards Crow and a burst of silver light shoots out from it
burning into Crow, who cries out in pain.
With a flap of his great wings, mighty Crow leaves to the down.
=====================================================
Crow needs fixed. He will moved into rooms in trees even if there aren't trees in that room. In this case, I'm assuming that the room was infested, but I know that he used to do this. I once chased him into the swamp and he was still in trees even though you cannot climb trees in swamps.
Ashteru2005-11-06 15:52:05
Nope, under a dark root is infested, so I see no problem there.
Hmm...crow doesn't yell for help? Probably White Hart won't, too then....*chin*

The point is that the mobs aren't checking demesnes. Duh. The room is naturally NOT forested so he shouldn't move into that room. If the room was not infested (as I said), he'll still run down there and be in trees when no trees are even there.
Ashteru2005-11-06 16:02:03
Well...same is for the eyesigils in the catacombs. I forested -one- room to rest a bit, and as I climb up, an eyesigil is there.

Jesus Christ,
Are you trying to argue that Crow is "fine as is" because he can fly into rooms in trees where there are no trees because you can name some other issue that is on the same page?

So you're saying that there might be a bug, but you're really not sure anymore, so you're going to come to the forums and demand it be fixed anyways?

White Hart Grove.
The stars twinkle in the clear night sky. As still as a statue, the White Hart
stands here motionless, though his amber eyes remain ever watchful. Reaching up
as high as the eye can see looms the awesome presence of a living totem. There
are 2 frost hags here. A mature birch tree stands proudly here.
They have Guards and a totem at White Hart....

Hmm... Hart: Gets guards and totems.
Crow: Can run into trees.
Hmmmmm!

Isn't crow still invincible? Protected by Viravain and whatnot?
I suppose you could argue his escaping into non-existant trees is part of Viravain's intent. To make him safe from harm.

Damn...I couldn't even try White Hart without the Hags screaming for help and getting hit by a totem, while you just have to run in the trees...
Unknown2005-11-06 16:30:16
When they become killable again, I'm sure the ease of killing both will become equitable.
Xenthos2005-11-06 16:30:36
You realize that Narsrim's only REAL problem with this is: when you go "down" at the Ravenwood, you end up climbing down into the totem and guards, right? You don't go to the room below while staying in the trees.

Yes. His life is very hard.
Unknown2005-11-06 16:55:30
It's a bug that is easily fixed. Just make everyone have to CLIMB DOWN. It's been suggested before, I'm sure.
Sylphas2005-11-06 16:55:59
So we're comparing a possible bug to a design imbalance, and arguing that if it is a bug, it's cool anyway because of that? Yes, there's no bias there at all.
Xenthos2005-11-06 16:57:47
What bug? He goes from trees to trees. Huge flaw there. The only real issue is that you can't go "down" to that room, you go "down" to the ground.

There isn't a totem at Rowena, silly. Crow flew down into trees above Rowena.
The PROBLEM if you would have opted to read is that Crow moves after being attacked. He flies into rooms and his elevation is "in trees" regardless or not if there are trees in that room. If you think I couldnt have just walked around through another entrance and doubled back to the room with Rowena (in trees), you are sadly mistaken. However, what was the point of trying to kill him if by the time he shattered into mini-crows that one flies into a room that isn't infested so it is technically impossible to reach?

That's not the point, really. The point is he can still move into locations in trees that don't have trees. As we know, Crow doesn't check for demesnes (I'm sure Hajamin will verify). For example, he could fly "into trees" above the river even if there wasn't an infested forest there... so he cannot be reached.
Narsrim2005-11-06 17:06:29
And for the record, you can just LEAP DOWN and go from in-trees to in-trees if there is a down exit.
Unknown2005-11-06 17:14:00
He shatters into mini-crows? Eh?
