Ok i was hunting water like every other day, and i cleared it. As I always do i hold the corpses and wait for the essence to respawn so i can get more essence for the pool and i have someone ranting at me telling me it's bug abuse...so can someone tell me whats the final verdict is. Because as long as i been playing everyone dose that and hell they teach you to.
Narsrim2005-11-06 18:33:01
That's no abuse. Tell someone to stfu.
Unknown2005-11-06 18:35:37
I did I just wanted to make sure i was in the clear.
Jack2005-11-06 18:35:56
Yeah, you're in the clear.

Said someone is a moron.
Vix2005-11-06 18:36:39
Mmhm. The mobs and essence just have different respawn times. If it was a bug, I suppose we could bother the divine to sychronize the respawns also.

Asmoth tells you, "That's sorta like bug abuse my friend."
You tell Waterweaver Asmoth, "No it's not because it is not a bug."
You tell Waterweaver Asmoth, "It is how it is."
You tell Waterweaver Asmoth, "I learned from other people doing it."
Asmoth tells you, "Yeah but do you think they would honestly want more essence
to grow in dead corpses."
Asmoth tells you, "Come on."

theres a cleaned up version of our convo

Bugs inside corpses? Well, explain that guy that's the usual process when they rot.
You allowing that guy go ooc on you?
Unknown2005-11-07 11:46:45
Asmoth is strange..

And yeah, the problem is that leeches and starsuckers do not always drop essence when you kill them (whereas earth creatures do if I recall correctly, been ages since I hunted them tongue.gif ), so you get the essence from them as soon as it resets into their corpses. sleep.gif
Unknown2005-11-07 11:50:16
Actually two of the grubs dont drop essence, and a few of the gargoyles dont either, they dont actually spawn essence at all.

Earth critters don't always drop
Unknown2005-11-07 11:57:48
Grubs and gargoyles drop essence. Stoneghasts never did.

But then water only has leeches and starsuckers. Can we get a third kind of fish? smile.gif
Unknown2005-11-07 11:59:24
Stoneghasts and Lindwyrms are the poison critters for Earth, and Gargoyles and Grubs dont always drop the essence. Dont leeches or something have the sleepy poison one?

Yes they do. I bash out Earth all the time and every grub and every gargoyle will drop essence if they haven't recently reset.
Unknown2005-11-07 16:51:43
I bash earth regularly and the grubs dont always drop essence and the gargoyles dont always drop essence.
Aiakon2005-11-07 16:54:33
Aye... and often that is because the essence has not sufficiently condensed within their flesh, the grubs or gargoyles are not yet grown. I think of essence as... a sort of supernatural dew... which can form inside the flesh of the elemental creature whether dead or alive.

And that explains said 'bug' nicely. And is it me, or do we seem to be talking about Mr Asmoth an AWFUL lot on these forums at the moment?
Richter2005-11-07 17:25:03
Wow. Bug abuse, huh?

DO PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT BUGS ARE?

A bug would be if you took the essence out of it, and the moonhart tree exploded, several people died at once, and you gained a million gold. Extra essence spawning inside corpses might be an oversight, but it is not a bug.

Bugs are glitches, and I'm willing to venture that not synchronizing the respawn times is either an oversight that none of the gods really care about (hell, I used to do that with pearls and oysters in Aetolia), or... something, I don't know.

You're perfectly fine in doing this, you need to slap someone when they tell you that. I mean, abuse? Who ever heard of essence in a creature anyway? Why the hell could it not respawn in a corpse? You all realize, that when we're killed, we don't die?

Lusternia is magical!

Insects. Usually beetles.

Gentlemen -

Wasps.

Are wasps bugs?

Or are they insects?

Discuss.
Narsrim2005-11-07 17:40:49
wasp (wŏsp, wôsp)
n.
Any of numerous social or solitary insects, chiefly of the superfamilies Vespoidea and Sphecoidea, having a slender body with a constricted abdomen, two pairs of membranous wings, mouths adapted for biting or sucking, and in the females an ovipositor often modified as a sting.

I think evryone have waited to get more pearls from those oysters. And there was one more not synchronized respawn time and much more profitable happy.gif

Bah i even dotn remeber name of this place, but it was quest in underground area, where you had to get a box and there was a balck rose inside this box.
For rose you could get 10k gold i think it was most profitable quest in Aetolia. So if you hold this box long enought you could get 2 more roses biggrin.gif 30k for doing quest only once, but it could also happend that when you get this box nothing was inside and box reseted before rose. tongue.gif
