Navaryn, I see you. Post something.

*cough* I'd like to remind everyone that this game has several people who have never played before. Please explain things like FoS and such when you do them and help them along. Even if you're trying to kill each other, no sense in not being helpful.

My bad!
An FoS is a basically saying 'I think you're hiding something/are suss, convince me otherwise or I might just vote for you'.
It's generally a good idea to FoS before voting, especially if you have never shown any ill will towards the particular person before.
Oh and I will reiterrate here, if someone gets to the point where they are about to be lynched, do not add the final vote unless you want me and others to think you are scummy. Give them the chance to claim first, and then decide if you believe that.
A claim is where someone, usually when they are about to be lynched, posts their role (or at least what they want you to believe their role is) in order to convince you to not vote for them.

I'm sowwy!
Okay, I will explain. Or try to.
When you FoS
Then, if you're still convinced that someone is bad, you Vote for them. I think everyone knows what a vote is.. when someone has a number of votes, they are lynched (hung, drowned, cut up, etc).
So far, people have been deciding whether or not to lynch (see above) someone on the first day, as there is very little evidence, but at the same time, it is risky not to do so.
Do I make sense?

Ninja'ed.
Jasper2005-11-10 23:05:40
Hmm....
FoS: Shorlen
Yes.
Trying to use words eloquently enough so that it may seem that one is simply trying to cover things up. Yes - I must say so.

Jasper, are you post restricted too?
Simply posting normally is enough to let me know that you're not. If you refuse to then I can only assume that you are actually restricted to speaking funny .

Hmm, this is exciting and scary all at once... I hope I last long enough to help out somehow!
I find it a bit strange Shorlen was implicitly endorsing the death of the Queen too, but I don't know if it's enough to 'finger' someone... is there anything that actually happens when enough of those things get voiced?
I really don't want to make a mistake so early.

No, the person just has a lot of fingers pointing at them.

Psh - I post normally, what are you talking about?! Hmph, how rude.
Unknown2005-11-10 23:11:42
I should mention that I think, if someone had a gajillion fingers pointed at them, that they should really -do- something... to get those fingers away/get votes.

It is a little odd that he agreed with the Queen's death, though he could be basing that off last game where I was the Queen. In that game I had the power to redirect people's night choices wherever I wanted.
No, nothing happens when someone is FoS'd a lot, but an FoS is likely to turn into a vote if the person being pointed at doesn't do something about it. That's the point of an FoS. So, if you think someone is worthy of scrutiny, point at them if you wish (it is also sometimes a good strategy, depending on your role and play style, to sit back and observe rather than be overly aggressive all the time).

Besides, how am I a sheep? As far as I know, I am the first to find you suspicious

Hey, I wasn't accusing you of being suspicious, but now I'm second-guessing. So far, you've lurked, avoided the question I posed earlier, and the come, and voted right away.
Navaryn2005-11-10 23:55:34
Eh? What question?
Unknown2005-11-10 23:59:38
Should we be lynching on the first day, or not? I've never fully understood the pros/cons, even after reading other games, so I guess I'll just hear it from you guys.
Shorlen2005-11-11 00:07:27
Do I seem tainted because I am glad a roleblocker, who could easily harm us if she was not careful, has been slain instead of a protector, scrier, or tracker?
Do I seem tainted because I speak in turns of speach wrought of my heritage, rather than the street vernacular?
Such suspicions are folly in my eyes. You simply seek to find fault in the words of one who has spoken, grabing at shadows of meaning to form your thoughts and accusations. Let us work to despell the shadows - my suspicions lie with the silent. Are they those who seek to hide who they are, or simply unattentative? Tenqual, Sylverfyre, Shamarah, it is to you three that I speak.
