We have to kill someone, right? Why not Elryn? All he will likely do is come on and claim a power pro-town role in the hope that people will not risk killing him just in case.

Revan is playing a very dangerous game if he is lying and I think he knows enough to know that it's just plain silly to do so.

The worry is thus - if Elryn is tainted, it does not mean Revan is not. I would hardly put it past one so tainted as they we fight to sacrifice one of their own to further their own goals. The power of a false scrier we all believe is innocent among our ranks is far mightier than an extra tainted among their ranks. Still, the path seems clear enough.

Elryn - this is the time for you to claim.
Shorlen2005-11-12 15:09:29
In other words, I vote: Elryn, making the fifth such vote.

True, but the possibilities are thus:

Elryn is Tainted and we lynch him. This confirms Revan is either a scrier or was Tainted also. If it's the latter, we can deal with that later. At least we killed one of them.

Erlyn is not Tainted and we lynch him. This leaves us with two possibilities; Revan told a lie or Revan is an insane/paranoid cop. If he did lie, he will surely claim the defense of insanity so, again, it is something we will need to figure out. For Revan, though, it's a thin line to walk if he is actually trying to fool us with his claim.

So with Shorlen's vote, Elryn is at 5. Give him a chance to claim.

I agree, and thus my vote. I was only warning others that even if Revan is right, it does not prove he is innocent.

Makes enough sense for me.

Vote: Avaer
Unknown2005-11-12 19:52:15
...you just killed him without a chance to claim. That's like, the most tainted thing you can do.
Revan2005-11-12 21:59:59
Hmm, didn't expect that to happen. Bad Shamarah
Unknown2005-11-12 22:35:06
If we killed someone who isnt paying much attention to the game, even less feeling of remorse from me. Anyway, we should stop chatter now that we have our majority vote, right?
Revan2005-11-12 22:38:55
Indeed. Ibby needs to post the death scene! Remember, I need a guardian tonight IF I'M RIGHT. I'll be scrying as well as I can, so be patient.

"Okay, I'm going to make it real easy on you folks. Avaer is tainted."
"Alright, let's string him up."
"Yeah."
"But what if he's not tainted?"
"Easy enough, you just lynch me later."
"That doesn't necessarily mean you're not tainted yourself."
"I say we lynch Avaer now anyways."
"Sounds good to me."

You all gather around Avaer and throw him up on the gallows. Revan does the honours of hanging the noose around his neck. Before Avaer can say another word, Shamarah walks up and kicks the lever. Avaer drops down, his neck snapping with a huge *CRACK*, his body going slack. You all stare at Shamarah, then shrug as he lowers the hood of Avaer's cloak revealing his true identity.

Avaer, Rowena Nightshade, Tainted, has been lynched!

Goodnight, send night choices to Tsuki ASAP.

At a fork in the road, a small figure paced anxiously, peering down one path several times before a larger shape finally appeared along it.

"Ho there, laddie!" the newcomer called. The smaller figure visibly relaxed and stepped forward to accept and drink from a bottle the other held out. The two spoke together for some time, their voices kept low so as not to carry. Not that they suspected they were being observed by anything other than the stars above ...

After a time, their meeting ended. One returned the way he'd come, humming a bit as he took another swig from his bottle. The other hurried off down another path. The meeting place was still for a moment before a keen observer would have noticed a shadowed figure slip by. The sky had grown cloudy by this time, obscuring nearly all the light, and the smaller of the two who had met suddenly felt his heart pound and his fur bristle upwards in fear. Without knowing how, he knew someone was out there, tracking him. Muscles bunched to run, but the shadows closed in too swiftly.

"We have no need of you," a whisper from the darkness hissed. Arms shot out from the darkness, grabbed the smaller figure's head, and twisted it with a sickening snap of the spine as his neck was broken. The body was left to fall, crumpled pitifully in the middle of the road.

Meanwhile, the larger figure had returned home, stepping within the doorway to find the room strangely darkened. Seeing that the fire in the hearth was all but dead, he moved to stir it up once again. Turning, he saw that someone, cloaked and masked, had moved into place before him.

"Wha--?"

"You make your choices too quickly. I do not forgive!"

He saw the reawakening fire glint along the edge of a blade briefly before it was thrust through his heart.

Mason, Lolly (Tsaephai) has had his neck snapped. Untainted
Mason, Vlath (Shamarah) has been stabbed. Untainted

------------

Daytime, discuss.

Edit: Oops, forgot this ... Hmm, 8 alive, which means it's either 4 or 5 to lynch? Ibby'll tell you for sure which one when she's rested and looks in again.
Unknown2005-11-14 15:18:00
8 alive, 5 to lynch
Revan2005-11-14 20:56:01
Well that was a frikkin waste of a scry... I scried Shamarah, so no updates on any tainted villains.
Unknown2005-11-14 22:25:11
Ugh. So we're basically back to Day One...

Random votes. >_>

VOTE SYLVERFYRE

Just to hear something/get things rolling. I'm still a bit suspicious of Navaryn..
Shamarah2005-11-14 22:41:04
Whoever killed me is stupid. mad.gif
Unknown2005-11-14 22:50:11
Woa two Mason deaths? That is...well yeah that is just plain wierd.
Unknown2005-11-14 22:58:04
No we are not back to day one. We have smaller numbers. One Taint is gone, my guess is that leaves two more. So, they need to get us down to four, total, without another of them dying for them to win the game.

Also the double death says to me that we have a Serial Killer. I doubt the Mason-Mason link had them both killed, since this game is meant to be fairly basic. Though I have been told time and time again not to outguess the mod, so I would not put it past Ibby/Tsuki to throw a curve ball at us and have the Masons linked like that. Though, the roles that are usually linked in a way that causes them both to die if one does are usually called siblings, I THINK.

If we lynch wrong today, that takes us to 7 alive, with at my guess 2 Taint and a Serial Killer. If they both get a kill, that takes us to 5, at which point if we start a bandwagon wrongly all the Taint have to do is jump on it, bringing the vote to majority, killing one more Town and winning the game for them.

Let's think about this first.

Ashteru replaces Eyod effective immediately.
