I don't see them remaking every single room description in the forest to not be tainted, but just dark. Makes that possibility a bit more remote, I think. They'd also have to change all of our messages, about taint seeping out and the forest surging up healthy, etc.
Astraea2005-11-09 02:51:50
Yea, but still. I'm sure whatever ends up happening will sit totally fine with all of Glom. They'll find a way. I'll still keep my hopes up for Isune going Glom though.
Daganev2005-11-09 02:52:06
Xenthos, you never know what they will or will not do.
We have some amazingly dedicated admin willing to redo just about anything if they think it will have more than just a cosmetic affect.

Oh, I know. I am seriously hoping I am pleasantly surprised here. It doesn't really help stop me from feeling rather saddened about what the "obvious outcome" seems to be.

It's not entirely impossible... there's still a chance!
Shryke2005-11-09 03:05:51
I think maybe whoever said she may come and bring Gloriana with her might be semi-correct... Perhaps it's something to allow the RP of city vs. commune to play up, add some diversity again. While untainted, the aspects would still be enemies, yet it would take the foundation out from under a lot of Serenwildes arguements.. :ponder:
Unknown2005-11-09 03:06:02
If Glomdoring is untainted, the game will be ruined. False Memory was bad enough, actually getting rid of it would completely devastate the game.
Shryke2005-11-09 03:08:39
well, possibly it won't remove the taint, just weave an illusion over it... Ironic wouldn't it be? Hmmm I'm feeling a bit prophetic right about now.

You never know, half and half! Crow could be all. ROAR TAINT MAKE ME STRONG. And Mother Night could be like. "You know, I kinda liked hangin with Sistah Moon." And then we can all frolic, and the Master Ravenwood can be half oozing gross, and half yay, in bloom! But I tend to agree with Guido. My personal preference aside, it would royally suck for Magnagora if they were the only tainted place, whether Glomdoring recognizes their taint or not. You'd still have to find some way to keep them on good terms, or at least make it so it wasn't Celest/Serenwilde/Glomdoring v. Magnagora. But again, I think this is so far from likely, if it got any more unlikely Viravain would marry Hajamin, and their love child would fly naked on Crow's back spreading cheer and joy to Celestians and Seren everywhere. Or something equally disturbing like that.
Galatae2005-11-09 12:23:14
... Josun would be devastated if people started to acknowledge the Taint is in Glomdoring. Even if it was Viravain. He'd follow Her no matter where She went, but he'd be torn up over anyone saying it's Tainted, even if it was Her. He already confronts people in tells when they say things like "Serenwilde pure forest gone, nothing but tainted forest left" over the Commune aether.
And then he'll look like a bloody idiot to not only the world but the rest of Glomdoring if he sits there continuing to say it's not Tainted. But perhaps that could be fun...
And welcome back, Sobran.

The idea of a Shadowdancer being all snuggly and compassionate reminds me of Aetolia:
Person X was a "light worshipping" vampire who drank the blood of evil person and thus was a "good vampire" because even she was a walking undead corpse damned by a curse, she could like love fire from a distance and that'd make he "of the light."

I don't think Shadowdancers have to be banned from emotion. I follow Night and I'm not emotionally-inept. I enjoy things, get mad, whatever, am happy, cuddly (In private and not often though, but I can be!) I feel that Moondancers and Shadowdancers are nearly the same thing except for a few little things. I think Shadowdancers are more fanatical and harsh, but at the same time, I think when something works out (Maybe I don't know, we get fae over into EtherGlom or something) there is an outpouring of cheer. Like, I am not evil, no where close to it. I may not be "good", but I have never considered myself evil. I don't have a problem with Shadowdancers being all compassionate. We do actually have pacifist Shadowdancers, too. But if I was to get my wish and what I wanted happened in Lust--Serenwilde and Glomdoring would be more friendly. Not like the best of allies, but certainly not outright enemies. I think that would be my favorite situation. You know, they'd have a little conflict here and there, but deep down, and when it came to it, they'd be united.

The Moondancers are far more fanatical and harsh than the Shadowdancers
Astraea2005-11-09 20:34:32
The Shadowdancers just keep the fanaticism inside and let it fester into a mental illness.
Edit: Plus we are all Woo deception and manipulation!

All I have to say is- finally! I'd had a shrub on my lust list for so long and I had no idea who. And uh, welcome back and all, yadda yadda.
Daganev2005-11-09 20:54:24
Yes the moondancers are definitly more harsh and evil than the shadowdancers. But what does that say about the Moondancers?
Cairam2005-11-09 20:57:20
What will happen to Shikari, the Predator, though? If His sister comes back and is all... Happy... and... -shudder- Snuggly...
And I agree with Xenthos... What a huge shock for Viravain to see the Taint and force us all to see it, too. No! I don't wanna! I'm happy seeing the truth through the eye of Crow!

Shadowdancers are so not as harsh or fanatical when related to the Moondancers - I personally WANTED that to happen, however, that never happened.
Like, I am not evil, no where close to it. I may not be "good", but I have never considered myself evil. I don't have a problem with Shadowdancers being all compassionate.
Compassionate is merciful - that is the reason why the Shadowdancers -CANNOT- be compassionate. A compassionate killing removes the victim from pain, a Shadowdancer shouldn't remove the pain - a Shadowdancer should let the pain to continue to destroy them.
We do actually have pacifist Shadowdancers, too.
Who? I don't remember any pacifistic Shadowdancers. Perhaps it is of the new ones, but I do not remember any who were remotely pacifistic.

Alas, that is what happens when we are tainted. Â Â

No one ever said that Shadowdancers had to be merciful to their *victims*. I can be compassionate to fellow Shadowdancers. I can be compassionate to Rowena (Even though she spits in my face, the crazy woman. I like her kids better) If we went around being all I SHOW YOU NO MERCY, to eachother, we'd have Shadowdancers raiding the Ebonglom Wyrm, or Blacktalon demensing the entire forest and killing us all. I definitely have a soft spot for Viravain -and you did/do too- That's compassion, no?
Edit: And I *really* like this topic, but feel sad that we ninja'd the thread, but it's very interesting. I'd suggest making a new thread for this, but I think once it was made the interest in the discussion would fade fast (Always at the most inopportune time!)

I can't see why Glomdoring and Serenwilde would ever be aligned. There's no reason they should be. Isn't rp important? Or only when it suits you people?
Astraea, your views on what a Shadowdancer living in the forest with no mercy is like, amuses me.
