Trans Magic just makes Succumb do the same drain as amissio/lash (from what I hear). With no Magic, it does like 500 mana over that (potentially).

With trans magic it drains me for 400 upon cast, and another 400 at the tick before it's cured.. but often it'll be cured before it ticks. With trans magic, succumb either drains as much as lash, or half, equal chances to both.. it has a much longer equilibrium recovery though.. in short, if you are trans magic, some lashes are going to drain a lot more mana in shorter time than succumb.. if you are not trans magic, say bye to your mana.

What makes mugwumps so bloody dangerous? I thought that with the lvl 3 fire and lightning weaknesses they would be seriously fragile.

Offense speed and defences.
Mugwump geomancers can still tank my lunges - but I don't have artifact runes. This is with my 180 damage broadswords.
Cwin2005-11-21 04:34:25
From what I've been hearing, damage needs need runes to truly be damage knights. Without it, you're better off focusing on wounding or speed.
That's what I hear at least.

I was just thinking of all the mugwump novices out there that are being roasted everytime a rockeater breathes fire at them. And all those good mugwump mages being shocked to death, becuase lightning runes seem to be the only ones really used.
Shiri2005-11-21 04:43:55
And only arty'd warriors even really get that opportunity now Aquas chill.

The reason I'm asking this is that my Wicca is right now a high elfen, and I want him to be a combat Wicca. So the real question is stay elf or go mugwump?
Shiri2005-11-21 04:52:39
Mugwump. High Elfen kind of stink. And are you Vhri's protege, outta curiosity?
Unknown2005-11-21 04:56:30
Jeez, Shiri, get outta my mind. Is it that obvious? Must be because I seem to be one of the only Wicca novices that is interested in the combat side of Lusternia.
Now I have to think of a RP way to reincarnate. That or just do it becuase I still am so obscure

I'm observant about forum people sometimes, but mostly the latter
And just do it.
Unknown2005-11-21 05:02:23
Righty-oh. And when you said "just do it" I thought of some strange mobster going "dont do it, DO it".
Now I need to find a way to reincarnate without losing too much hard earned exerience.

Nevermind, it sounds better if you could hear me say it....SKYPE . But seriously, just smack a rockeater or moose and let it do the work, or have someone else do it?
EDIT: arrg, Shiri, you post faster than I can think.

MOOSE! Alright...let the ritual suicide ritual commence.

It annoys me how people discard the idea of a creative use of another race as rubbish. The only real advantage I see to Wiccans at the moment is how flexible the archetype can be with a variety of races:
A dwarven Wiccan is a tank like no other. While you will find yourself restricted offensively against elite fighters, the ability to take a beating and mount a mediocre offense is often all that is necessary to take down the bulk of fighters in Lusternia. Dwarves are also the only race that boasts a high constitution with a small size. This boils down to insane health, insane resistance and an above-average tumble, which works quite well. Want to kill Demon Lords? Want to bash guards? Dwarf is definately worthwhile to a Wiccan with those wishes.
A Mugwump Wiccan is only feasible with Hexes. In this case, you will have a nasty offense that will work quite well against most. The drawback is the terrible terrible health and weaknesses. I honestly don't understand how anyone below level 80 pulls this off effectively. At level 90, I still need Tosha and constitution food if I'm going to do anything slightly dangerous as the health just plain sucks. Once you can get the health to stay alive, however, it is a potent combination.
And finally, I'm very interested to try out what I feel is a good mix of the two: A Faeling Wiccan. With a philosopher stone, the racial regeneration, and the racial sip bonus, a high level Faeling Wiccan could easily be as tanky if not more so than a dwarf. Many attacks drain a percentage of health. The low amount of health makes this percentage low; however, the sip will be unusually high and as a result, the ability to heal damage should far exceed what most people can dish out. This would only be feasible, however, with a health of around 3500, which I could pull at level 90. Furthermore, the ability to tank will weave in with the instant tumble; huge dexterity bonus (which will make stancing super effective), etc. A Faeling still has 15 int, however, and no equilibrium penalty like a dwarf so you could match Mugwump damage just not Mugwump speed. While not necessarily "better" than a Mugwump in one-on-one combat, it would be a huge plus in large scale group combat. You could always tumble away... you would be uber tanky and still relatively dangerous offensively.

I think warriors definitely have the "flexible races" thing better off than us. (I also think if you're going to be an astrologer mugwumps will have an advantage with NASTY fast aapek aeon rays, but I haven't tested if there's a speed cap on that, being a fuzzy obviously.)
Ashteru2005-11-21 06:38:24
Yeah, warriors really can be pulled off at every race, at some races better than the others, or just different. As a Wiccan/Guardian/Druid/Mage you already can forget Taurians and Orclach, for example. Others are only good for special things, like Krokani for bashing Gorgogs and Igasho and Tae'dae for PvP. I like to go Faeling for usual hunting, though I can't take on Gorgogs there. To be honest, since I got the cameo, I haven't once been Mugwump...
Unknown2005-11-21 07:45:57
Well mugwump looks exactly like most stereotypical mages from all those other games we play - D & D anyone? Uber good attack, but quite fragile. I guess the weaknesses would make it more exciting, and I've already thought of actually roleplaying this time (an IRE first) with a half-breed mugwump. I know about the fire and electricity, but is the 10 constitution that much different than the 11 of a high elf?
Shiri2005-11-21 07:53:38
It's like 300-400 hp of difference at level 70-80. It is really not that major. Narsrim feels the hurt more because he used to be dwarf, and is fighting Daevos, Ixion and company with the ridiculous overpowered artie weapons.
