Yeah I think some of us could go with that.
Seriously though, some defences could stay, for myself I can say: Enigma, Fool.

But I was thinking, when mr big angry ur'guard gets killed, do we really want him poofing back fully deffed?

Oh yeah. Same for Vitae, huh.
Hmm. How did they handle this in Imperian with the priest rezz skill and the necro one?
Terenas2005-11-28 16:18:24
Skills that are one-time use or fade overtime obviously shouldn't be kept, like Vitality, Lichseed, Vitae, Enigma, Fool, ect. because they all fade upon used up anyway.
Unknown2005-11-28 16:26:35
Nothing should be kept. Just so no defense feels left out.

I completely disagree.
Defences which don't fade up in time or are of a limited use shouldn't stay up - the rest should, exactly for that reason - that they get used up that way or another anyway.
Unknown2005-11-28 16:31:38
No, they shouldn't. Nothing should. Crikes. Set up time, mana and power costs are all parts of the overall cost of the skill. When you type "quit", you're making the concious decision to spend said time, mana, and power redeffing.
Period.
Period.

I'm exempt from this rule, i type QQ.
Evrlastng defs 4 me plz.
Murphy2005-11-28 16:37:25
i disagree, all power defs should stay up!
Unknown2005-11-28 16:51:20
Yeah it's all about the power defs, the rest - whatever.
Unknown2005-11-28 17:08:18
You might as well request the power cost be removed, then. It's the entire POINT of them.
Iridiel2005-11-28 17:09:50
Considering that They have branded illegal all that ways to try to ignore the power cost of defs (including that arena stuff some people were so keen on using) I doubt they be removing the power cost of things, or making them last forever until used.
Power is there to spend it, it's just that cities are greedy about it

Sylphas2005-11-28 18:40:14
It would be so handy to not spend 10-30 power deffing each time.
Narsrim2005-11-28 18:41:33
I just want my damn Fae to no "poof" when I die. There are many times when I conglutinate or vitae/spore that I could easily Faecall them back to me. It irks me to have to resummon them each time.

The 'webs' thing is what's commonly known as a 'party' feature which is used in many other games as a social enhancer (social meaning encouraging group interaction). Though I'm sitting on the fence over it, I'm actually tending towards wanting to implement it so I'm trying to think of a way to implement it that wouldn't detract from covens, mindlinks or even clans.
What if a 'party' channel had a leader (like covens) and those in a party would only be considered active if in the same local area as the leader?

Far from being against this for any sort of game balance reasons, I'm against this for role-play reasons.
I consider all ranged communication -- particularly ranged mass communication -- a necessary evil.
The more ways there are to interact in a game without ever coming "face to face", the lazier and lazier people get about actually coming face to face. As that happens, the norm for socialization moves steadily away from interacting with virtual bodies in a virtual world, and steadily toward a "chat room" environment where you can pretend to go kill stuff.
I accept community, guild, and even clan channels as necessary, but I flat out do not like them.
Saran2005-12-02 06:46:02
Whats most annoying is if i my connection goes off and i don't reconnect within more than a x seconds all my defs and fae are gone worst case is if it's during a raid i'm not hiding from and i have to go and spend more than my daily allowance of power which i try to avoid spending anyway
Terenas2005-12-02 17:24:52
The same thing sort of happens to me, but the longer I remain d/c, the more my defenses get stripped, and it always happen to be drawdown that goes first if I ever get d/c.
Richter2005-12-02 17:28:01
Yeah, I spend 26 power when I def. I'm all for keeping them while logging out.
