No armour, actually, because I just recently went Nihilist and my great robes rotted. And I'm piss-poor.

Well. There you are then. tongue.gif

I wasn't aware that armour made a really big difference. Enough to be worth it, but nothing huge. ohmy.gif

mellow.gif Buy armour, try again. You'll notice a bit of a difference. Even a couple hundred less per swing would be a lot more manageable for you, and it lowers wounding as well.
Terenas2005-11-12 06:36:48
My fullplate cuts down damage against me by 50%. So yeah, it makes a huge deal, especially for wounding.
Athalas2005-11-12 06:45:02
You should try fighting warriors a bit closer to your own might. Besides that, i'd suggest switching to astrology and getting it up to aapek (below adept). It isn't as good as something like tarot in the long run, but at low skill levels it will help more. On a alt I made I was able to use those abilities to pretty nice effect. As long as you know what affliction the abilities will give on the person (Ethelons free system has a built in nativity thing that will tell you) you can do quite well, especially if one of the affliction is a good one like aeon or stupidity.

What are stats??
Torak2005-11-12 16:04:06
What are your skills at? Also don't bother with cosmicfire unless you have senstivity/omen, preferably both stacked. Instead of an auto stinger add a line to the end of your aliases to see if you have tail balance, and if so then sting(autostingers can screw up your shielding/rebounding among many other things). Use a demon, half your offense relys on one. If you are bent on CF then quicken first. Web when you are low in health or move out of the room, webbing is far from lame. But yeah, Demon + shackles ,if you want to go for damage add in senstivity and harrow if you have it. I can give better advice when I know what you have in skill ranks.
Narsrim2005-11-12 16:18:40
Why can't you just have an alias through a client that tries to sting everytime you attack instead of worrying about creating "tail balance":

So like for cf: you'd do "sting @target" ; "abjure cosmic fire @target"
Torak2005-11-12 16:25:11
spammy and annoying.
Stangmar2005-11-12 16:28:18
Mugwump Timeslip is the evil. NERFFFF! Once he got me in an anorexia/slickness/asthma lock with vapors. *shudder* I just moved to another room in my demesne and did BREAK STAFF. Silly mugwump didn't stand a chance.

That's why we have gags?
Torak2005-11-12 16:41:30
Takes the same amount of work to do a #if (tailbalance) {sting @target}, so honestly what difference does it make either way?
Narsrim2005-11-12 16:50:33
if you did that, you'd get owned by aeon or choke. That's why.
Torak2005-11-12 16:53:40
how is having sting on every alias not going to do the same? Atleast with my way you can factor in choke and aeon by putting another little simple statement. Honestly this is pointless though and I figure you are screwing around also, so I will stop spamming and go play CoD:UO. And Narsrim the #if (tailbalance) {sting} is in your attack aliases, not its own...

No, because all of my aliases check aeon balance... you could do it the way you suggested by having nested #if statements, sure... but you didn't say that. However, even so, it would be "safer" to do a two-move alias over a simply tailbalance if you don't have good aeon balance.
Torak2005-11-12 16:58:46
What didn't I say? You are losing me here, read my first post and tell me I didn't say it was in the alias, this has been incredibly pointless; thank you for wasting 5 minutes of my life. Both ways work, neither is better than the other; one just looks better(mine ofcourse biggrin.gif).

On a completely unrelated note why are you the EX hier of whatever?

Because I resigned? The Heir of Ellindel is the title of the Moondancer Champion. Ellindel Treeheart, the first Wiccan and Healer who cured the Fae, was the first and so we are her heirs smile.gif

You are:
stricken by the vapors.
devoid of senses.
pacified.
afflicted by horrible asthma.
sprawled on the ground.
anorexic.
masochistic.
entangled.

I'm so tempted to make a Gag/echo thing, when it sees that I'm afflicted up this much it just goes:

succor me/diag

You are:
SCREWED!
Narsrim2005-11-12 18:08:38
Try this instead: stand, smoke coltsfoot, focus mind, sip allheale, moondance full.
Cwin2005-11-12 18:21:36
Actualy, that isn't TOO Bad. Nasty but not utterly screwed.

Let's see now:

One thing to remember, for those that don't know, is that vapors isn't stun: you can still do anything you want, you just can't see anything.

First thing to do is to

Writhe, then focus mind/hunger/whatever
Second the skill you use takes out that Anorexia/Asthma lock, cure the other (coltsfoot or melachonic) and eat kombu.

By then web should be gone, so immediatly stand and shield, quaff allheale , and diag yourself because for SURE you got hit with something else in the meanwhile.

Shield whore a little more until you gotten over Playerstun*, eat reishi then get back in the fight.

The nasty part about Nihilists is that you have to do stunts like that every 20 seconds or so and will be trying to cure SOMETHING every moment you fight them. Also, if a ailment set like that remains until they recover it's over (Paralysis, Rigormoris, so on).

To win, you need a strong system that cures the small stuff easily and NEVER breaks too badly (too badly = you have to shut it off to get it to stop), an alias/hotkey system that lets you do anything you want in a blink of an eye, a highlight/substitute/echo/gui system that tells you exactly what's going on and how bad off you are, and personal knowledge of what is supposed to happen to kill your opponent.
