Erk. Maybe I killed it. *cough*
I'll have to think about how we'll work through the pet issue, then. That could be tricky. However, if worst comes to worst and we can't have a rogue kennel, the Monastery can function without them. It would be nice, though. There could be a holding room and all, a safe room for true members of the Tsu'chi Monastery to leave their pets when they're out of realm. Reinforced door with perms set to true Tsu'chi monks.

No more warriors taking hunting!
Soll2005-11-13 21:53:44
Hunting is awesome. Plus, it means you can live in the Tsu'chi monastery. Great RP! Someone? Anyone? Please?!
Vix2005-11-13 21:57:09
Heh, get the thing built first. Talk later.

It also means you can't learn totems, nihilism, or celestialism. Death to hunting!
Soll2005-11-13 22:01:34
Another less viable option is to have a pet add-on be that of Tracking companion. It would allow mercenaries to have tracking companions, and boost Estarra's income from pets.
Richter2005-11-13 22:27:32
I found it at the PoF Kyle, its sitting in a kind of safe spot now.

No it doesn't.
It means you can't learn totems, necromancy, or sacraments.
Or Moon, Night, Stag, Crow and rituals, come to that.
Xenthos2005-11-13 23:30:16
Yes, right. Warriors can't take nihilism / celestialism.

This is a beautifully crafted idea, Soll, I hope it goes well for you.
Ekard2005-11-14 00:16:48
Soll i love your idea but i wont leave Paladins
And as for dogs.
I have an idea. As i understand you cant ask for another dog if you are not meber of city/commune. It would be great if admins could change it that your dog cantr be killed. No i dont want to give him immortality.
Just like when i attacking Solls dog and if my swing would be deadly one, insted death message dog would just run to lick his wounds or something. And dog cant be called for like day or whatever. So if your enemy would kill your dog to get rid of it, he still would menage his aim and you would not be able to use dog for some time. And if you are cityless you dont need to ask for anther dog.
Now, Soll if you like this idea just convince Estarra for it. Good luck!

I've tried convincing Estarra for a number of things. Maybe if Soll and I team up. *brandish*
Ekard2005-11-14 00:28:50
Good luck guys!
Unknown2005-11-14 00:52:19
I love the idea too but Laneth isn't going to be joining you. I have been playing around with an idea for an alt in my head for some time but I barely get time to play my main, so I might not make the new one for a while.

I think this is a really good idea. It would mean that true mercenaries couldn't have some of their skills removed permanently.
So, something like this:
Ekard swings a broadsword at an ultra-neutral monk-assissting dog, landing a fatal wound. (replace this for actual message.)
With a low, pitiful whine an ultra-neutral monk-assissting dog assesses his condition before scampering away, licking at his wounds as he flees in abject terror.

.... No? Lusternia doesn't endorse rogues. Are Angels and Demons going to run off and lick their wounds? No.
Ekard2005-11-14 18:00:04
Yea, but only power skill in hunting/tracking is unite. It wasnt power cost but people on forum whined and gues so.
Anumi2005-11-14 18:41:44
That sounds interesting. If I were a warrior, and didn't love my Order RP so much, I'd be tempted. But I'm not, and I do, so I won't.
I wonder how far "mercenaries" would go in Lusternia. Obviously the administration aren't too keen on rogues generally. And, once you started in with one side or the other in some conflict, the other side would enemy you. Help Magnagora get a village, even if it's for pay because you're a "mercenary", Celenwilde will enemy you. Help one side in the Faethorn, same deal. Help one side in the Sea quests, not only are you enemied to the opposing city but to Ladantine/Kelpies.
Doesn't necessarily seem like either the game mechanics nor the general attitudes and doings of the playerbase support the idea of neutral mercenaries. So you're stuck with general fence-sitting and pacifism as your "neutral RP" which is kind of boring.

Aiakon2005-11-14 19:23:32
on the other hand, if you could be hired for a certain amount of time... while holding onto neutrality... people might not enemy you indefinitely.. they might prefer to hire you onto their side once your current contract had expired. Could make for another interesting variable to take into account.
Richter2005-11-14 20:23:58
No, in Lusternia, if you bat an eye against an other organization, you get enemied for a long time.
