Alright, since Karrah isn't around a lot, Verithrax quit, Diamante and Melanchthon dissappeared, Raizan was shrubbed, and everyone else is nowhere to be seen, it's just me working on this again. A bit disheartening, I think, when there seems to be so much interest in it from the "citizens" and in rogueish type people.
I think we're no longer at the point where we require massive funding. What I just need now is a few core people who seem interested on a regular basis. There's over 50 people in the clan, and now looking back at it, it's somewhat embaressing to have told Estarra that there was interest, and that I'd be submitting a full proposal, when it's down to me again.
Anyway, back to work.
You know you're free to tell Estarra that if Deepnight becomes a full-blown or even half-blown org, I'll come back before you can say 'Supercalifragilisticspiralidocious.'
Richter2006-12-14 09:15:17
Yes, everyone's made all kinds of promises if it works. Funny how I need people now, I'm sure they'd all be willing to jump in and join if it "works". But whether we remain a clan for all time, or more than that, I'm pretty sure I'll be partial to those that have remained by my side the whole time.
Genevieve2006-12-22 08:07:42
I'd be interested in helping out, but I already have so many responsibilities. What does helping out require?

Well if you feel that way, then I'm not coming back at all - What's the point, anyway?

Verithrax, have you no shame?
Rightly, you used to tear apart arseholes who made silly sympathy demanding posts of this nature. Rightly, you would point out to them that no one cares. This was never strictly true of course, we wanted them back in the game, but we just didn't care about their little forum sob stories and emotional demands. Sadly you seem to have forgotten your old standards, so I will remind you:
Verithrax. Get over yourself. No one cares.

Yeah, I know. But since everyone here feels entitled to their brand of pointless whining, I might as well join in. Besides, it ups my post count.

You're being overdramatic, and you know it. Especially considering you still talk to me every day, eh?
And I think you know how I feel about the whole thing, and if you don't you can figure it out. Lots of support, to very little support, to overwhelming support should it ever work.
But hey, I'm still working, keepin' on keepin' on, ya know. Look for two new rooms to be added soon.

Going to work on road descriptions over break, here. Any themes to keep in mind?
Richter2006-12-23 06:39:57
Cobblestone or brick, neatly kept, silver lampposts, neatly kept flora.

In whatever little work I did for Deepnight, I used a baroque motif. Deepnight is somewhat like Venice without channels.
Richter2006-12-23 20:30:45
Except for Canal Street
Richter2007-02-05 07:44:33
I'm pleased to announce that due to a generous donation (by someone who can come forward if they wish) Deepnight now has a forge, an oven, a tailoring bench, a jewelry bench, and a printing press. Additionally, we have a second store in a new one room manse. I've also updated the Deepnight map, which has a permanent home here.
Thanks to all for the donations. This will turn out to be a great project, founded on Lusternian history, created by the players, for our future!
(and it's just really flippin' cool too!)

Sweet. Closer and Closer to the real thing.
Aison2007-02-06 09:34:57
Would they actually turn that into a city?
And that's some hobby you got there.

Unknown2007-02-06 09:37:36
Pretty sure they won't, but hey Deepnight is cool anyway. I'd have my character join it if he didn't dislike cities so much.

Description for the bookbinding room:
Several books lay littering the ground, each one covered with a small amount of dust and debris. Sconces rest against the wall, crafted from the dark stone used to make the walls. Their lights cascade and radiate in abundance, giving the room a warm and yet staunch atmosphere. Small splotches of dye and paint lay splattered against the eastern wall, remnants of a bookbinding process gone horribly wrong. The sounds of the city outside are muffled, though the sweet fragrance of a nearby garden gives the air a touch of life as it tries in losing failure to overpower the smell of leather and other unnameable ingredients.

We're currently looking to add two or three manse dwellers.
I wanted to extend my thanks to Crylia, who gave us our first donation of 100 credits, towards our new friends. I also had some bound credits saved for a rainy day that I'll be pitching in.
All in all, I believe that currently, the donations from players has started to exceed my personal contributions. Thank you!

Subj: Looking for some new friends
Greetings everyone,
Deepnight is looking for some new citizens, or creatures to inhabit the
city. However, they may take some convincing, at the tune of at least
250 credits each. We're in need of some credit donations, so the place
will seem a bit more lively. Personally, I've saved about 500 credits
myself, that I will likely be using, but that of course will only
convince two denizens to make Deepnight their home.
For those of you that have been here since the beginning, I cannot tell
you what an opportunity this is, to bring life to the city. If anyone
has questions, you may message me, but take a look at the MANSE DWELLERS
scroll first, it may answer some of those questions.

One day... a d'Murani mansion must be built somewhere in Deepnight's grounds. A small affair.. a few state rooms, a butler.. another home from home.
Richter2007-04-24 01:43:21
Sadly, two of my manse dweller ideas were shot down today. Meh. They were easy ones too.
Onto more ideas.
Onto more ideas.
