If you want to know about weapon stats, you must speak with the god of forging... Melanchthon. Though he'll probably need to retest after recent changes, he can tell you the best stats for what you are going for.

HA! I though so!
So max damage for broadswords is 180 now, for claymore 360.
Need to get more stats for other weapons to be sure about other stats.

Base human stats at level 80 paladin:
Sir Morik Whitbaum, Disciple of the Dove
 Strength  : 14 Dexterity : 14 Constitution : 14
 Intelligence : 13 Size   : 12 Charisma  : 12
And I have lowmagic (for herbs), so thats 16 str.
How would Orclach be good Celestian RP? Orclach were always the 'traditional' UrGuard, although if the Paladins were less of a peacetime enforcer and had more of an asskicking squad..

check this out from help orclach
4.14.14 The Orclach Race
Descended from the Elder God Orlachmar, the orclach are one of the
largest and strongest of the races. Their thick, mottled skin (generally
a slate grey colour, though some tend to exhibit green tinges) provide
excellent protection from physical abuse and their innate healing powers
are legendary. They are a warrior race who maintained a strict military
caste known as the ur'Guard. During the time of the Holy Celestine
Empire, the ur'Guard were the main peacekeeping forces of the Empire,
though after the Taint, they relocated to Magnagora to follow their death
cult origins (though the modern day ur'Guard is open to any race). Many
orclach who were caught in the Taint were twisted and broken into the
sub-race of orcs, who are pale imitations to the true orclach. Because of
this, there is a rift between those orclach who feel betrayed by the
Taint and those who embrace it.
you could be a sympathetic to orcs, taint hating paladin orclach.

Yeah, Mela is a freak at forging, it's insane the amount of time he has poured into it (over 400 hours he once said).
As for weapons, it breaks down into two things, weapon tiers, and racial bonuses.
Weapon speed are organized into tiers (except for precision/wounding, which works on a linear scale). Weapon speed variance is noticeable every 5 points, with the breakpoint at every 5's and 0's, so you may notice a difference between a 165 and a 170 speed sword, but you won't notice between a 161 and 165. Also note that there are certain speed at certain level (dependent on your racial speed bonuses if you had any) where you will notice more drastic changes. For example, prior to the most recent speed changes, I was able to hit reliably once every 2.5 seconds with a 200 speed weapon, but the second I tempered it down to 199, I was getting 3.0 seconds constantly.
Such breakpoints are different for the races with balance bonuses and penalties, Mela has the info on normal, and +2/+3 balance I believe. Also note, it's impossible to hit faster than 2 seconds nowaday, regardless of your racial or weapon speed.
Weapon damage is a lot hard to break down because due to so many different variables that calculate damage (strength, weapon damage, armor, skill rank, resilience et.c). Also, after a certain breakpoint, the damage stat will matter more (~200 damage if I'm right).

I've been ruminating on something lately.
I've spent a fair amount of time away from Lusternia, or half in it, for a while now. I used to play a lot, but never be very committed, God knows I've been around for longer than a lot of people, since open beta and wot.
Sekreh's RP is dead. When I started I was too new to Lusternia, and MUDs, and it went on for too long and I need a fresh slate. Not an alt, a new main.
So here's the deal: I want to do something in Celest. I like the inquisitor direction I hear it's been taking of late, and I've never really done any RP there. I'm considering starting a new character there, learning how to fight, investing some credits, getting a good system together/buying one/giving up and using Ethelon's and ultimately really playing Lusternia again.
So how do I get started? I'd love some recommendations, both on the combat side of things (How to start learning how to fight seriously, what the pros and cons are of each archetype (beyond the basics, I have been reading these forums and playing for a year), as well as just other things in that vein, skills etc.) as well as the RP side. I like the inquisitor idea, any thoughts on how that would fit in to Celest, how to develop that RP and make it make sense, and all that would be appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

I didn't read any of the other posts but I read this one. Please join the Celestines we could use more fighters. Our RP is growing extensively if you want to be apart of all the changes we are making.
