My favorite part of GuildWars so far is exploring the world. its HUGE! And you can explore it alone with some AI help, its really nice.

I told myself I was going to go gather all the skills and then join the PvP aspect, but I'm enjoying gathering skills so much that the PvP aspect looks boring to me now.

(Anyone else find that secret layer of 5 dragons in the middle of the forest?)

Yup. I might even have a screenshot of that little place sitting around on my HD still, as I found Rotscale and his entourage randomly while touring across the world. As I was about ten levels lower than him and running entirely with NPC's, I decided not to tangle with him for obvious reasons. ::grins::

My main is a level 15 or so Smiting/Beastmastery Ranger. With a staff. Sounds odd I know, but it works disturbingly well against undead and moderately well against everything else.

EDIT: Aww nope, I deleted it for memory earlier. Stupid 40 gig HD... (and failing power source, broken fans, and 2.1ghz processor that only runs at 1.7ghz)

Oh, one new thing. For those of you out there who play Guild Wars, it seems that we now know what the next profession is going to be. Assassin has been confirmed as the next profession. Thank the gods, finally a second Melee profession! Also, because I love you, go here.

hmm seems i am going to get guildwars then.
Unknown2005-11-16 00:40:52
Guildwars is quite good, I just wish equipment was more varied. I hate seeing everyone look more or less the same! I do like that the strength of your character is based more on your skill combinations than what loot you find though.

So guildwars is a online game, but no subscription cost? hmmm if thats so i might look into getting it. I like being a loaner in games i don't like having parties so if i can get away with it i won't ever form a party.

Erm... you might get away with running around with npcs... for a while, most of the majory quests really require four humans.

You have lil' cutsceney things, My Pryo/Channeler was leader the first time i saw one and i was all dribble.gif w00t.gif frenzy.gif
Daganev2005-11-16 06:33:54
I've played through the whole game with 0 players and 100% NPCs.

Its alot easier if you get to level 10 in pre-seering.
Saran2005-11-16 06:49:04
yeah pre-searing is my favourite place
Marcalo2005-11-16 16:36:39
Nifty Styx, well you all got me wanting to try Guildwars.

Well, hopefully you'll enjoy it. I also hope you won't end up another useless Wa/Mo, but that's besides the point. I'm just seriously biased against that class combination due to the fact that most of the idiots of the game seem to pick it. To that end, I never choose them for any team I lead. There are a few rare gems, but I'd rather just avoid the whole ordeal, heh.

If any of you ever care to get together, just lemme know. I have characters in Ascalon, the Desert, possibly the Shiverpeaks (low end, not high end), and Pre-Searing.

Ahh the evil plot has worked pureevil.gif tongue.gif

hehe thats only cause nobody attacks warriors as they are a low priority target.

Or atleast so i was told. (in order Mo, El, Ne, Me, Ra, Wa or something like that)

My favourites are Pyro/Mes mainly cause i'm a pryo tongue.gif biggrin.gif umn, Necro/Monk offers some disguise but i generally go Mo/Ne. Necro is great for the creatures and Monk for the healing it's the combo i go into the Tomb most often with.

Sometimes i play a Ranger but not often.

It's not that simple. A good Warrior knows they're a Tank, not a damage dealer. A good Tank knows that the best way to draw aggro and keep it is to be the most threatening target, one way or another. The way I managed this (or plan to, anyway) is through the use of Earth element spells for AoE and knockdown along with either axe/shield or hammer. I've been able to play a pretty successful warrior in the past, but it's not half as interesting as playing my Me/Ne. DoT owns your soul for free!
Daganev2005-11-16 19:14:26
I'm sad because I can't affectively play my favorite combo, which is a WA/RA Beastmaster Archer with armor piercing bullets. Damn those limited skill slots!
Rauros2005-11-16 19:32:47
I've completed GuildWars with two characters, and I'm working on my third. I don't PvP much, nor have I ever been to UW or FOW. I've just been trying to unlock everything I can before diving into all that.

My main is a Mesmer/Ranger. I've unlocked all the skills in both classes, including elites. This was before they increased the gold cost for skill caps.

My second is a Monk/Necromancer. I've unlocked most of the skills in both classes, but it's becoming difficult to come up with 1000 gold per skill. I don't solo-farm very much, so I just try to run around with groups in Sorrow's Furnace and sell the drops.

My third character is a Warrior/Elementalist who is currently in Yak's Bend. Once I'm done with this one I should have most of the skills in the game and maybe I'll start PvPing more. I don't have much time to play GW between class, so it's slow progress.

If anyone wants to look me up, my IGNs are Skye Sunder (Me/R20), Kheirid Din (Mo/N20), and Red Hanna (W/E11).
