grr there are some serious idiots visiting my work nowadays.

On my last shift there were a heap of chairs stacked up one of the two seating areas, so of course these people decided that it was apropriate to take down the chairs and sit in the MIDDLE of that part rather than the completely empty and available area.

then they decide that it would be nice for them to leave a mess for me to clean up.

The most annoying thing was that they then decided to shout out thanks as they were leaving behind.

Grr when will people realise that people at KFC, McDonalds, etc are not paid well enough to spend all of their time cleaning up after pigs and that most five year olds have enough intelligence to realise when their is a closed seating area.

This is exactly why I quit my job at Popeyes so many years ago. On my last day, I went off a few customers, too. It felt sooo good.

I feel your pain Saran, i just got a job at a cajun seafood resturant, and most of the waitstaff there has the combined inteligince of a dead shrimp. The other night, i was behind in doing the dish's *i actually have ALOT of other stuff i am resonsible for also* and i had a empty dish tub sitting on this table. There was one full tub, the empty one, and the trash one. Well most of the stupid waitstaff kept piling dish's into the full one rather then put ANY into the empty one. Till thank the gods for this woman, one of the smarter waitstaff came along and put her plates into the empty tub, then the rest of the sheep followed suit. I was about to scream at the cause the dish's kept falling out of the full tub onto the floor, so i had to keep going to pick them up while trying to finish my prep work for this potato dish we serve.

After one year in an internet marketing company, in continual contact with clients, I have managed to switch to another job with not a single customer I need to interact with, I don't even have a phone line at my desk. It feels so awfully good I won't be moving for a long while (pay is better too, wich is a plus).
But just knowing I won't have to bear with another “I want this design we aproved two months ago to change and be now like that fancy new website that other company developed... That's heaven.

Ugh we have three sinks out the back, the newer staff either don't clean out P&G stuff or they leave it in a sink for six hours.

Or the other favourite of newbs, not giving the sinks a quick spraydown after using them so who ever uses them next generally has to clean them or just leave it to build up.

I so need a better job

oh and drive-thru is the source of all pain and torment, you have to respect the intelligence of someone who can be surprised at a long wait in a barely movnig line. Seriously we have drive-thru lines of say 8 cars, each car being served in around 2-3 minutes if were going slow yet people will still sit there instead of comming to the nearly empty interior and procede to complain.

My personal favourite is when we have 5 large orders and then end up sending customers away because we have no chicken (while this is usually just because we need to cook some there have been times when we litterally have no chicken in the store)

I am greatly pleased that life has arranged it such that I have never had to work retail or food service. My personality is such that I could probably not avoid getting fired inside of a month. I did answer phones for an answering service for a while, which wasn't too bad once you realize that you cannot actually help people directly, because you are not actually the company they are trying to reach, so they're not actually yelling directly at you. Plus it was interesting (in a sad kind of way) to listen to the obvious drug addicts trying to get random docs to prescribe painkillers in the off hours.

Down with stupid people. Power to the nerds!

I work in a deli. The people around here are rather... well to do (and they're often surprised that I live in the same type of condo they do, rofl (my g/f and I rent from her parents)). Job sucks, but it pays bills until A) I get an internship (preferable) or cool.gif I graduate.
