Hrm...

I'm looking for an idea for a character... prefrably rogue, although if its good I will stick with a guild/city/commune. I'm pretty much just looking for something unique - not the same thing that a million other people are doing. Anything non-generic.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I know personally if I had a nice unique idea for a character I would not be passing it around on an open forum for others to steal tongue.gif.

Good luck though, maybe other people are less obsessive about their ideas than I.

If only those 'unique' ideas don't involve some sort of idiocy, it's all good, but often they actually do. Some people seem to think "the weirder the better". sad.gif

Heh, I'm looking for good ideas that people don't have time to do/don't want to make another character etc.

No, I'm not looking for something as weird as possible - just something interesting, and fun, that no one else is doing.

Ergh I tried that, sort of. Laneth could only speak Elfen for a while. I got SO many tells from people instructing me how to speak common. So many >.<.
Ialie2005-11-16 02:35:15
Speak only through telepathy if you speak at all and aetherchannels. Its not that hard. Just don't use say. Your tongue is cut out or something.
Richter2005-11-16 02:37:29
Play a character that joins with me. *shrug* We're kind of unique.
Ialie2005-11-16 02:38:41
Play a character that is the exact opposite or Richter.
Kayde2005-11-16 02:42:41
well if you want a character that would be decent to play, and not just sit around somewhere and roleplay with, while not really being able to bash/whatnot, you should make a tracker (warrior base), that way you wouldn't have any real ties to power-needs. As for a unique tracker, you could do a crusty old tracker that wanders the lands hunting/harvesting, perhaps even a story-teller type persona where you go into the towns and villages and head to the taverns and spend what little gold you made in selling your wares on beer and good tales. If you wanted a handicap, you could roleplay having only one useable arm (thus only use one one-handed weapon), or being deaf or even blind, as a tracker, using your hound to sniff stuff out for you and help lead your way around.

Poor, MODEST/humble ascetic type guy, I think she meant. Could combine with tracker thing.

If you want to be a rogue, you'll have to be a knight with the hunting/tracking skillsets. So no 'hermit mage' or 'wandering druid' characters for you. Sorry. Some character ideas that you could want:

A mercenary type who's loyal only to gold

A merchant - low combat skills buy fairly high Influence and tradeskill, eventually owns a cartel (Credit-intensive, you'll have to compete with Richter or join him.)

A wandering hero who is neutral towards the Taint and helps people from both sides (Hard since you won't have any healing skills, but doable.)

A hermit who takes up a room in the mountains and threatens everyone who passes through it.

A drunken dwarf who spends a lot of time killing stuff, and a lot of time drinking.

An estranged Merian who hates New Celest but is neutral towards everyone else. (Can also be done with elfen, viscanti, Faeling...)

zomg.. he should be a bard. tongue.gif (Or minstrel so Kidaen doesn't feel left out)

If you want an good character please please please don't roleplay that everything that could be wrong is wrong with him/her. It bothers me so much to meet all these orphans, rape victims, abused, and ectera people in game. Why can't we have a chronicly happy person? sad.gif

Because chronically happy people don't usually go adventuring in the classical hero tales. The hero goes out to solve some problem, either in himself or in the world at large. Someone who's happy with their life and their surroundings doesn't need to adventure.

We can't all be heroes. There's always room for the overly-optimistic fool, who ends up dead.. thus spurring the hero on to more mighty efforts.

um.. Perhaps you've never heard of the Knights of the Round Table, but most if not all of them only went adventuring just to have fun. Most of Launcelot's gang went around just to compete in tournaments and have a good time. tongue.gif

Those not were heroes. Those were bored nobility without lands to take care off because other brother got them, showing themselves around.

How many dragons did they slay eh eh eh? wink.gif

There's tons of opportunity for interesting characters in Lusternia. Just by toying around with different combinations of city, guild, and patron can yield promising results. A cold, scholarly Lucidian with a hidden crush on Isune? A blademaster who can't stand the sight of blood and hands his opponents bundles of yarrow and chervil before battle?
