Some say it's no longer taint, some say it's still taint. Arguments and debates and no one's realy sure of the answer.
Looks like Glomdoring finaly achived what it wanted after all. With hope, they'll gain more members this way, and the blasted civil war they've had will end.
Now.. what shall we do with Celest? Perhaps Hajamin attempts to empower the Supernals and, instead, makes them blood thirsty purist witch hunters? TAINT MUST DIE SCOURGE THE EARTH TO MAKE THEM BLEED. GRAB THE FAE AND USE THEM TO SLAUGHTER THE CORRUPTED! The Light guide you.
Maybe not. Oh well. The event is good to see.

I'm hoping the change isn't just superficial. Would like to see some altered skills and such as well, to reflect it. I'm afraid of pissing off Glomdoring, though, so I'm not about to start interrogating any Blacktalon.

I think that it will only be as superficial as the members of Glom and Seren and Celest make it. If they go on with the TAINT DIE, it won't change much. But if they take time to consider whether or not it is taint or wholely different, things will take on a change, more depthwise. That being said. I'd really like if this Wyrden thing changed how we got fae/how they looked. I'll even help make wyrdenized fae descs? -flutter- Bound in Shadows is all fun and good, but maybe if we got the summon line changed, and their descs, and if we didn't have to kill them to get them? That'd be fun...of course that's a lot to ask, and shadowbound or not, I'm perfectly content with the way the forest has been changed. Wyrden = Awesome.
Shorlen2005-11-16 05:18:03
I'll say this much OOC regarding Serenwilde opinions of the Glomdoring now:
If the Fae are still being enslaved by Shadowdancers, the Moondancers will still be extremely anti-Glomdoring, as far as I have influence over them
We know they were being enslaved before because the pixies told us and asked us for our help.

Actually, upon further examination, I think that this Wyrd thing is what Guido devoted his life to creating. As members of the Brood could tell you, Guido was obsessed with the potential of melding the forces of the Natural and the Tainted into one 'perfect' essence. Perhaps that's sort of like what the Wyrd is? Taint and nature, synthesized into one unique power.
Munsia2005-11-16 05:31:31
So it still is taint
Daganev2005-11-16 05:32:31
From my VERY LIMITED point of view (i.e. this thread) Glomdoring is now what we have argued it always was. i.e. We argued that the so called "taint" was just a power of change, and if you looked at the change in the correct light then it was grand and powerfull, making everything stronger.
Now, Glomdoring has gone through its -complete- change, it now has the status of Wyrd. (And by the way, its the Ebonglom Wyrdling, not the Ebonglom Wyrd. Something I'll have to investigate in game)
ofcourse, none of this will change anything politics wise because people have thier politics set for reasons other than whats "hard coded."

Exactly Daganev. That's what it sounds like from this thread to me as well.
Daganev2005-11-16 05:42:17
However, for all those people who called Daganev insane for saying the taint was just an issue of perception, Taint has now been destroyed in the glomdoring, and I would not be suprised if a sect of Magnagora gets pissed off. Especially the ones who always said "accept the taint, Dagnabit!"

Thus, the Wyrd of Glomdoring came to be, which transformed the taint
itself. What has sprung in its place is nothing anyone could have
imagined or foreseen. The word "Wyrd" now only means one thing to the
fae: that which was once the taint which now rests in Glomdoring, where
the earth itself is wyrden and the repercussions are only just beginning
to be felt.

That implies that it was indeed the taint previously, but it is no longer the taint, and is instead the wyrd. But, naturally, people who want to kill other people will claim that no, that is not true, its just SUPER TAINT and will continue to blithely kill whomever they so choose because they are Tainted.
Unknown2005-11-16 05:43:51
The taint was not destroyed, it was just changed. Changed quite a bit, mind you, but this new power still has its roots at least partially in the taint.
So it is no longer 'tainted' per se, although it is still infused with a tainted force.

In that case the Stone of Truth was never destroyed either, nor the beings of Nil
Thats like saying that the taint has its roots in light. (or whatever Nil was before it became nil, I've forgotten allready"
Astraea2005-11-16 05:46:08
Awwh. There's still a chance that both Glom and Seren could use this to cement a lesser level of hostility. No one is expecting alliances, or even straight peace over night. But this event gives the potential for it. I think it would be good as something to try for.
And it is so not taint
Taint is all Kethuru's ick.
This is the ick transformed by Isune and Viravain.
Thus not ick,
But Beauty and Power.
Yay!

Daganev2005-11-16 05:48:05
Sorry Guido, the Taint has its roots in Kethuru. Its Kethuru's mark, nothing more, nothing less.
Wyrd is the mark of Viravain and Isune.

Yes, yes they might as well cleanse it all.
Daganev2005-11-16 05:49:56
Ok, just so I don't look like a "total" loon.
Just trying to point out how it can be seen from all and any angle, just like before. I am however very happy about the new information it gives us about the nature of the world and the basin and creation and all the wonderfull scholarly works people can now work on.

From what I read they didnt discover anything. They attempted to do something but the fact they had a speck of kethuru screwed it up. They created something other then what they wanted hence why isune ran off
