Awww! comfort.gif Well, Magnagora is the engine of change. Could you imagine Magnagora becoming de-tainted or changed just so that Celest would have no reason to war with them?

Glomdoring has changed from, 'Taint? There is no taint!' to 'We're not tainted! Well, only a little.' I'm exaggerating for dramatic purposes, but it comes close to what's going on here. I guess it's interesting... Is Viravain still locked away? unsure.gif

well, Serenwilde tryed that once, it ended up (well there have been about 10 threads on that so far, most of them in idiots, so I won't get into it here)  ..lets just say "badly".

The event post even screams it at us (players)
...where the earth itself is wyrden and the repercussions are only just beginning to be felt.
I think that's the admin telling us to not make forum posts on it, battling it out, and to just wait and see.  wink.gif

RP isn't always successful, and treaties are bloody hard to keep intact, even when both sides don't have elements purposefully trying to shatter them. If you do not try, however, you can't expect things to change the way you want them to.

And yeah, I saw that. I think a lot of people are just conveniently skipping over it, but living in the Glomdoring... it's a little frightening / exciting to see what else comes of it... happy.gif

Glomdoring has changed from "Taint? There is no taint!" to "Taint? There is no taint!" This just makes it easier to deny. happy.gif No, neither Viravain nor Isune are locked up. They returned embracing each other, then Isune ran off crying. sad.gif

Daganev, the Astral Plane isn't tainted. It is warped by Kethuru's touch, but not tainted. Geomancers can't naturally meld it, and survey in a normal room shows it to be 'astral', not 'tainted astral'. If I remember correctly, Ladantine and Co. saw no 'taint' as they approached the first astral node.

As I don't see it anywhere else in this thread, yet...

The sudden screams of hundreds of birds fill your ears as they flee from the trees, caws of foreboding.

(Glomdoring): Astraea says, "The cocoon is glowing."

A cocoon shakes slightly, which causes the earth to begin to tremble slightly around it.

A crack appears in the cocoon, out of which a pale violet light is cast.

The crack on the cocoon widens as a scaly black wing breaks through, dark mauve talons tearing away at the hardened threads. An enormous maw snakes out next to it, enormous eyes blinking moistly. Suddenly, the gargantuan
creature launches itself into the air.

Above the Glomdoring Forest, a gargantuan winged creature appears. It opens its enormous maw and lets forth a cry that echoes throughout the Basin. The creature has a long scaled body that is as thick as a house and
incredibly long. Though it resembles the Ebonglom Wyrm, it clearly is a beast of a different nature.

As the creature rises higher and higher, it slowly unfurls its enormous wings, revealing four figures pressed against its chest.

One figure is the Great Spirit of Crow, who pushes himself off of the creatures chest and flies in circles over its head, cawing joyously.

The second figure is that of the Great Spirit of Mother Night, her inky black form swirling off of the creature and trailing after it.

The final two figures are the naked forms of Viravain and Isune, their limbs entwined around each other as both stare down upon the forest.

With a harmonious resonance, the rhapsody of Isune's voice rings out, "What have I done! Forgive me!"

Isune hurls Herself into the air as she weeps, and disappears into the clouds.

Viravain laughs joyously as she climbs upon the creatures back as its wings finally spread, and it soars high over the Glomdoring Forest.

Black smoke rolls in and begins to rise up from the ground, drifting slowly into the air.

The unearthly voice of Viravain, Mistress of the Webs whispers upon the ether, "Aye! The Master Ravenwood is transformed, the heart of Glomdoring made stronger! And a new wyrd marks a new age! The Wyrd of Glomdoring! And
thus, the Wyrds tool, the newly born Ebonglom Wyrdling shall pave the way!"

The strained voices of the fae chant, "Fai! Fai! The Ebonglom Wyrdling! Fai!"

Flanked by the Great Spirits of Mother Night and Crow and the soft laughter of Viravain, the enormous creature soars over the Glomdoring Forest, its maw dipping down into the foul tainted cloud that hovers over it.

As the taint is sucked up into the Ebonglom Wyrdling, its body pulsates and shudders. From its pores, a fine mist is released, drifting back down into the forest, blanketing it in a deep mauve glow.

As the Glomdoring Forest glows with a primal force, the voices of the fae whisper the name of a new force that has been given birth this day, "The Wyrd! The Wyrd! Fai! Fai! The Wyrd of Glomdoring has been released! Beware!"

*grabs popcorn, leans back and waits for more*

I think Xenthos is right on that one, let's see what comes next.

Wow.
Shorlen2005-11-16 14:30:10
From the sounds of it, the Fae aren't happy or joyous over it. The first chanting seems like the enslaved Fae bound in shadows (the strained voices, implying to me they were forced to say it), and the second chanting is the Fae saying to BEWARE the wyrd...

Can be read a number of different ways. It could be a warning to everyone to beware... just a warning to the Glomdoring's enemies... a warning to cities, a warning to Serenwilde and its fae, etc. etc. The second one isn't necessarily saying that the Fae themselves fear it, just that they see it as powerful and potentially dangerous to *something*.

In other words- let's just see what happens, shall we? happy.gif

You know, now that I think about it.. this isn't going to change the alliances we have now.

Realy, with just this, the only way to go is for either Glom to go back to Mag or for Glom to turn to the Serenwilde alliance. Essentualy, that'll make it 3 vs 1 or the same old same old.

If you want a true Commune vs City conflict, you'll have to find a way to get Mag and Celest to work together for some reason. Another option is to plant a reason for Serenwilde or Celest to break up. Without either of those, the alliance can't change (unless you actualy DO want a 3 vs 1 situation)

Edit: I will admit, though, that the Serenwilde/Celest grouping looks REALY shaky these days.
Xenthos2005-11-16 14:42:46
Celest and Serenwilde are already on rocky ground, Cwin. This has the potential to do something similar to Glomdoring/Magnagora, but it's only potential at this stage.

Edit: And so far, nobody's made any effort at all to take advantage of that potential, just tried to reinforce what already exists. It seems like certain folk like us just as we are... happy.gif

Mmm popcorn.
Geb2005-11-16 15:07:20
If there is going to be a push for cities versus communes conflicts, the cities better darn well start stocking up on needed supplies. I definitely know my city is not prepared for such an event.
Richter2005-11-16 15:15:40
I hate perpetual war. We're looking at seren/celest vs mag/glom, or seren/glom vs mag vs celest, or seren/celest vs mag vs glom.

Someone think of the children.

I'm tired of you anti-combat hippies. Go get a damn job and let everyone else fight, kthnx.
Cairam2005-11-16 17:14:54
Thanks for posting that, Xenthos!

What colour is mauve, exactly? -tries to imagine Glomdoring with a mauve glow-
Peeka2005-11-16 17:17:20
It's a reddish-purple.
Anumi2005-11-16 17:19:08
It's a sort of pinkish purple.

EDIT: Avast! Ninja-d again!

I'm tired of everyone hating each other's organization for the sake of hating it. I prefer hate on a much more individual basis, like it was on Aetolia. And I'm learning how to fight! *brandish*
