I was close tongue.gif 50cr for each, but to get reset you have to have decay with it wink.gif

Hmm.

Hm. I'd imagine this refers to non-customized weapons? It'd be pretty stupid to pay 50cr to customize your weapon's description, and then have it decay in X months. Although, I don't know anything about the ability to repair weapons, having not (yet) been a forger.

Of course, there's always weapon runes to make your weapons non-decay and resetting. Those attributes alone would be 100cr, and the cheapest rune is 150, and you get either 5% more wounding or +5 to stats.

Only folks completely in the dark are those who want fancy armor. I think there you've only got fullplate, which if I remember right (again, never been a forger), lasts forever. If you want a customized shield or lesser armor, I guess you're just hosed, barring any indefinite repair ability.
Xenthos2005-11-18 18:14:24
I was told that customizing them didn't make them reset, it just gave them a fancy description. That's why I had my rapiers tempered down extensively to stick runes on them instead of going for the customization... if that's NOT the case, I'm going to be very disappointed. My poor rapiers. sad.gif
Unknown2005-11-18 18:15:39
It doesn't make them reset. Only making them perm does.
Anumi2005-11-18 18:28:56
Right, assuming the "no forged item can be made permanent/reset" is still accurate, and not just a help-file copy-over from Achaea, the only way to make weapons reset/perm is to stick runes on them. Which means that customization without runes is a stupid waste of 50cr. And attempting to do anything fancy at all with armor is a total loss.
Xenthos2005-11-18 18:32:58
As a side note, I'll be getting my rapiers named some day. Just for the neatness factor of it. happy.gif

But I'm still sad I had to have them hurt so badly to make them reset.

That's leftover code from Achaea, obviously, as certain forged items here can be made permanent.

As far as I know, that can only be done with the addition of runes, correct? Customizing it doesn't gain the reset status?
Terenas2005-11-18 18:37:34
That's rather silly then, especially for the level 1 and 2 greatrunes. Essentially you will never temper your weapons unless you want elemental runes.
Daganev2005-11-18 18:37:58
Only forged items that can be turned into artifacts can have those things put on them.

I had mine tempered since they can't be made any more and I didn't want someone grabbing them and running away with the things. Just wanted the resetting, but had to maim them in the process.

Xenthos,

I'm not 100% sure about the non-decay, and I think the helpfile is a leftover, but I recently talked to Estarra, and she was kind enough to refund me the 300cr I'd spent on two runes, because I would have had to take about 25 stats off to put 15 on, because they were so good. She gave me back the 300cr (I assured her that I was going to put it right back into customization), and then I asked about 300cr for the custom, reset, and non decay, and she said yes.

So, essentially, I'm 99% sure. smile.gif Sorry about your rapiers. tongue.gif

That's really censor.gif. sad.gif One was 501 and one was 499 pre-tempering. So *not* happy.

Uh, no. Total stats. "*SPECIAL NOTE* No great rune will attach to any onehanded weapon that has stats with an aggregate total of its three stats (damage, speed, precision) of over 463."

I had to drop my rapiers by just under 40 points each in order to put the +15 runes on them, because I was told the custom/decay/reset wouldn't work on forged weapons.

Edit: *sighs* Sorry, just not all that happy about it. I'd so much rather have neat weapons with a customized appearance and their pre-tempered statistics than what I have now, which is unflavoured standard rapiers with watered-down strength.

It might not be too horrible, the way Melanchthon was explaining speed tiers and stuff to me. Not that I understood all of it, mind you.

Yeah, except most of the points didn't come off of speed. Came off of more relevant statistics. sad.gif

Hmm, I'll shortly be customizing my broadswords, naming them
Adeonoctius, the Midnight Blade, and Sol Lumen, the Dawn Blade, once I bash up the credits and raise the courage to do so
