I'm planning on my Lobo Ebonguard going BM with scimitars. What are the stats on them, on average? I don't particularly care one way or the other, because he's just a fun alt to play with and won't ever be very good at combat, but I'm curious.

Hmm scimitars you say. Speed will be around same as for broadswords. Damage around 100 +- 20 or so, precision will be higher, right now i think that precision cap is at 235, but i'm not sure for 100%.

So 100/235/160 will be really, really good scimitar.

How's that compare to the other blades?

Top broad damage is 180, speed can go up to 200 and precision around 190, but of course you wont get them all in same time. Highest total stats on broad i saw was 496, i heard about 505 but i didnt saw him.
Rapier speed can ge up to 270 - 280, precision up to 190-200, damage is around 50 +- 20.

No idea for longswords.

You need no more then 463 total points to add Great runes.

My best broadsword has 497 combined stats. I really doubt with the caps nowaday that any weapons can exceed 500 base total points.

As for scimitars, I thought they'd be great for wounding, but it turns out you sacrifice too much for speed. My rapiers are 40/200/200 base, and the best scimitar I ever got was around 120/229/150. The speed is way too slow for only a bit more precision.

You can't get percision above 180 on rapiers anymore I don't think.

I really wish they would just post all the caps so that we can just know. I mean we have people smelting good weapons just because they are unsure of the caps.

If you think they're good, why smelt? I wasn't sure what precision I can get, or how fast I can go on broadswords so I forge like 4 of each. Sure, it gets expensive, but you pay for what you get.

Yea, a list of max stats would be realy good.

And yea, 180 or around is max precision for rapier in those days.

Can you even get 200 precision on a rapier anymore?
My best rapier is 69/160/229. sigh.

You know, these changes are quite extreme from what we are use to seeing, I wonder if they are going to change any of the existing weapons like they did when armor got changed so much.

They haven't so far, have they? If they left super precision lightning fast rapiers around, why change now?

I couldnt get 200 precision on rapier, but i had 190 few times.

hrm with a 165 speed broadsword i ht every 3 secinds roughly..but with a 280 speed rapier or some such i hit at 3 seconds roughly? this didnt make sense to me and i was wondering if there are racial caps on the max speed i can have or some such..

Time them again, speed difference is huge betwen them you should see larger difference.
