How powerful can you make a pet, cost, and yeah... Would they be extremely useful as a partner in combat?
Unknown2005-11-21 03:49:07
Have you checked HELP PETS?
They aren't very powerful at all in combat, and the cost is given there - at least 500 credits with optional extras costing more.

Pets are more for RP as far as I know. I hear they do really really poor damage, though you can get an Amnesia attack for them, which is expensive, and isn't really very good.

Beyond this, you may purchase add-ons, either at the time of buying the pet or
any time afterwards. For 900 credits, you can get a pet with add-ons 1-5 plus
five reactions. Things not on this list are also possible, but will probably
add considerable cost.
What kind of things does that mean?
EDIT: or does that just mean the list below like amnesia and stuff?

Meh, was just wondering, cause warriors get all these fancy runes on their weapons and a custom name and such, but what do magic users get?

As an example, Sierus asked to be able to mask his pet, and I believe Estarra stuck the option on free of charge, for giving her the idea. Now we have the petmask command, for some extra $$$.
Help pets should tell you just about everything, and no, they aren't useful in combat, mine does about 50 damage a hit. The only time where they would be vaugely useful in combat, is if your name is Geb, and you have one pet that does amnesia, and a one-time pet that does stupidity.

My pet is good in Influences, people try to influence him *giggle*
Right now Mine flies, is sentient, mountable, never dies and is an endless source of amusement. I make him attack because even if it is a little bit it is some damage. flying and mounting gets me around obstacles at times. I also have decent skill in riding so I can do those things.
Ashteru2005-11-21 09:08:38
Not to forget that you don't get suspect if your pet gets lucky and gets the killingstrike on people.
Nono, that was a joke. I am over it.

I wonder where the problem is...I had a marvellous pet-igasho some time ago. It could talk, carry you around, tank for you and even hurt nasty meanies...and it didn't even cost credits. It just required quite some attention....but then some meanie failing came and stole it. *sniffle*

There are always other Igashos out there... Even Igasho Changelings, which are far cooler toys!
Kaileigh2005-11-21 19:40:23
Suuure you are. And I so did it on purpose too.
Arix2005-11-27 00:29:19
I'd rather have a pet Trill. I'd teach it to respond to everything with dirty jokes/limericks and bad drinking songs, then set it loose in Magnagora. Oh, and I'd make it unkillable, and give it a collar

That somehow reminds me a bit of Moralis...
Arix2005-11-27 04:37:00
Moralis...I don't remember him
