Fae and hex tracker

For now I'm simply jamming one button for draw a hex and one for throw, so the top line of my keyboard is for drawing hexes, and the second line is throwing. Does anyone have an idea how to make this more streamlined?

And for my fae, I was thinking having a multiline alias so that I could order all of the fae to attack someone at once. The only problem is I don't know how to use a multi line thingy, or have the triggers for when a fae is summoned.

What client are you on?

For Fae, I just ORDER ENTOURAGE ATTACK $TARGET (as a Nexus user, that obviously won't work for you if you're using a different client). Easier than doing them all at once. ORDER ENTOURAGE SUMMON $TARGET also works for wisp, although it is spammier.

I'm on Zmud. I don't think that it will work that way for me, but honestly, I haven't tried.
Unknown2005-11-25 01:59:41
You don't need a multiline alias to just oder them to kill. Just set up an alias to 'order entourage kill @target'.
Unknown2005-11-25 02:18:21
Really? Even for Zmud? That makes life simple once again.

How bout hexes? Pwease? Pwetty pwease? unsure.gif

I would speak to Narsrim about how the best way to handle hexing. I know during my brief period with hexes I had one alias set for each hex to draw, wait 2 seconds (or however long I timed it to take to recover, I can't remember) and then throw. The timer can be an issue if you are lagging though so it is probably best for it to work off a variable of your balance/equilibrium, but I'll be buggered I remember how to do that in Zmud.

Probably not a good idea to do that anyway, single hexes are only useful rarely, you want to have them all lined up to throw, or whammy, or doublewhammy, or allhex or whatever.

I wasn't transed so I was being selective about what I used, but yeah, you're right smile.gif.
Saran2005-11-25 03:45:37
hehe i just use the alias and target stuff in lusternia and them make my system use that cause it's easier and if i go off somewhere without zMUD i can still use my shortcuts just no buttons

I have a list of abbreviations for each hex, and a database variable that matches each abbreviation with its hex. then I simply do d to draw one, h to throw one, dw to doublewhammy, and w to whammy one.

So I can do dps, dst, dan, das, dim, dvp to draw paralysis, stupidity, anorexia, asthma, impatience, and vapours, then do things like hst, dwpsim (or dwimps), and such. I like it. All my skills that use a standard syntax are like that mostly. Used it for sling/supersling, moting, and fetishes as well.

Darn, I forgot about the whammy, double whammy, and whatever throws six at once. I just dont want to type, it seems too slow. I might still just pick the top six of my hexes and make a qwerty hex system of DOOM.
Sylphas2005-11-25 05:29:18
Have a macro that switches all the others to whammy, and then back, and that's easily covered.

Doublewhammy is going to be a bitch unless you do it either like I did, or just pick a few you use a lot, and macro those.
Unknown2005-11-25 05:41:25
Hmm...
I guess I could make the macros for drawing my favorites right across the top of my keyboard (q-p). I'll keep what you said in mind, though I don't think that I'm going to go far in hexes for a little while.
Sylphas2005-11-25 05:52:07
It's doublewhammy that really causes trouble, because instead of like 25 options, there's 25^2 options, and you simply can't macro or alias them all unless you're insane, so you need to figure out some other way to do it, either restricting the subset you use, or making it otherwise managable.
Unknown2005-11-25 06:09:43
Well, there must be some combos that work better than others. Anorexia/Asthma seems like a really good lock to have, better doublewhammy that.
Shiri2005-11-25 06:10:08
You aren't going to need 25 hexes. Half of those aren't even usable afflictions in 95% of situations. You can make aliases for those.
Shorlen2005-11-29 15:27:48
I reference each hex by the first three letters of it's name, and I have d, h, t, and p aliases for every single hex, for drawing, hexing, throwing (draw and hex), and pushing. So, to draw an asthma hex, I just use 'dast' and to hex someone with it, I just use 'hast'. To push an impatience hex to the out, I just use 'pimp out'. I use 'wham' to start whammying all hexes, and 'nowham' to stop whammying all hexes.

Works for me so far *shrugs*

The adolescent in me loves that you just said "I just use pimp out". We now return you to your regularly scheduled on-topic conversation.

I had a similar system as shorlen, a draw, hex, draw + hex, draw + whammy for each hex. Doublewhammy I just made aliases for the combinations I want to use regularly, and then a general dw (hex1) (hex2) macro that took parameters.

Typing in 'pimp out' without thinking about it when I needed to push an impatience hex out of the room I was in to make room for a better hex there just... had me on the floor laughing when I realized what I had typed smile.gif Nearly as amusing was when I nearly gave Zenji asthma instead of saying HA! to him, since I had that aliased to hex with asthma for some odd reason dry.gif
Anumi2005-11-29 21:06:32
Now you've got me imagining the actual (imaginary) ability that would require PIMP OUT as the syntax. So far it heavily revolves around a *-mancers staff and feathered hats.
