It isn't exactly a stasis deck since those rely on th Stasis card to run out your deck and/or make you die from Black Vice sorts of attacks. This one usually kills you during your upkeep phase due to things like Mind Whip and Winter Orb. I do have a stasis deck as well with the old Chronotogs, but it's not as fun.

On another note, Shorlen and Elysiana () both just got me a load of cards for MTGO, so I have a piddly tweaked Golgari deck there now.

EDIT: And after a thorough whooping in sealed by Narsrim twice and two close wins by me in the same, we're trying T2...but his 78 card mono blue thing doesn't seem to be able to stand up to ghazi glare very well.

I wonder why.

Attended the Guildpact prerelease on Saturday. Am now an official DCI member, which makes me happy. Here's the sealed deck I played:



B/W was really fun to play. I lost 1-2, and then had to drop after the first round because my friend didn't want to be late getting home (I think I could have won at least 1 match ). First game I almost won, but he came from behind rather quickly and just managed to beat me. Second I kicked his ass. Third, I got completely screwed, drawing almost no creatues, and he won easily.

After that, managed to trade the Sacred Foundry I got for a Temple Garden, and bought a Birds of Paradise and a Brushland. It was very much fun, and I'm really looking forward to Dissension.

Short prerelease. I'm still waiting on the MTGO one...just a month to go. I'm making RG beats decks in preparation. Excited about gruul. Ledgewalker, sophsticate, mauler, hooligan, slum, solifuge (even at 4/1!!)...just good stuff all around. I'm spoiled for choice. And I could go aggro-control too with firebird, slum, and twister.

If only they hadn't made wreak havoc 4.

I only went to one day of my pre-release but it was so worth it. Even though I ended up with an Izzet deck (mainly - was RUG) and it did turn out to be fairly janky, I did manage to trade my Niv-Mizzet and Tibor and Lunia that I opened for a foil BoP and some other nice stuff.

Man, I'm liking Tibor and Lumia, I don't see why no one else seems to. 3/3 for 4 in the two least creature orientated colours, and with schizmotivate etc. that's awesome. Plus it turns all your red spells into pyroclasms and mini-pyroclasms, which as we all know is tech in standard and block right now.

Wish I could've gone though, everyone is telling me how fun it was. Maybe I'll take a bus into Nottingham for dissension...Simic

At the moment I am liking Tibor and Lunia more than Niv-Mizzet. If you are playing heavy RU you are going to have a problem against weenie strategies, and Tibor and Lunia are a godsend against those frigging token decks.

Mmhm. Niv-mizzet is combo-ey, but not -that- awesome. I don't like Ulasht, Borborygmos or even Teysa much either. (Although I'm sure Teysa will kick my ass sometime soon.)

Niv-Mizzet was going for tons of cash to the vendors at my prerelease, and none of them were parting with any until it gets broken and the price shoots up. Electrolyze also looks to be very good. Izzet in general looks awesome. I dunno about Schismotivate, though. You might pump one of yours up, but they can still just block it, so it won't be getting through Gruul, and Orzhov is just going to Mortify it or something. I'm much more worried about Gelectrode combos. That thing looks to be nasty. Or even a Dimir mill splashing Izzet Guildmage to replicate Glimpse. Quicken is going to break something, somewhere. Azorius is going to have instant speed WoG. Hell, you can even wait for them to stack their deck with a Top, or watch Glare topdeck three Heirarch, then instaGlimpse.

Gelectrode looks nasty, but luckily I pack darkblast, so that helps. As for schizmotivate, yes, but when someone's rumbling slum attacks into your ...drowned rusalka or something and ends up trading they're probably not going to be happy about it. Plus there's the whole thing where wee dragonauts, tibor and lumia and stuff FLY...which is a huge boost. As for the glimpse stuff, not happy with that, I don't like mill. Also I won't like replicated BOOMERANG. Luckily I play block, but it'll still be HELL when Azorious comes out. Instant wog isn't fun either. But hopefully there'll be some way in R/G to avoid that kind of nastiness.

The glare + scion for the second tournament pack in a row (gave the other two to Hiriako) really made my day.

And I don't have any token producers, but I'll prolly open at least one when I get to open another booster in the second week. We'll see.

EDIT: On second thoughts I took out the black splash for a red splash - flash conscription, galvanic arc, thundersong trumpeteer.
