Ok this is the sign up, i will post rules after we see how many people actually want to play, i want at least 5 players so hopefully if we can get at least that many people we can get a pretty decent party going. I will be Dming, and we will play how me and my friends play its pretty straight forward. So get to signing up and we'll see where we stand, and also if a admin or moderator could sticky this that would be great. Thanks.
Shiri2005-11-27 04:24:57
Guess I'll sticky this, since we sticky taint wars no problems.
EDIT: Woops, didn't mean to close, sorry.

If you're willing to approve this Paladin class, consider me interested until such time as the rules and specifics are posted. At which point I'll make a decision, hah.
To be honest, I thoroughly approve of any and all classes that Jaerom Darkwind has done.
If not those classes, I think I'd just play a Warlock. They look all kinds of fun, hah.
EDIT: Actually, I'm going to settle on Warlock. I'd still highly recommend checking out those classes for future reference though, it's awesome stuff. Core original Paladin class just makes me angry. Cure disease my arse.

I'll play unless it's already a full house. It's been quite hard to find a good set of friends to play dnd with lately.

Sign me up!
Hopefully this time I won't be a velocirapotor type race.

ok, since we got a party of four right now i will post some rules.
Class's are final there is no switching class mid quest.
Since this is done by my rules thats what we go by.
Class's are as follows.
Thief- can evolve into either a assassin at level 5 or a master thief.
Warrior- Can evolve into either a paladin or a dread knight at level 5
Fighter- can't evolve but is a pretty general class
Wizard- can evovle into a specilized mage, or a Warlock at level 5, warlocks are just a advanced version of wizards.
priest- can evolve into a healer, or a battle cleric at level 5, at level 5 you must choose a god as your patron, and for sake of argument we will use the lusternian gods.
If you want to be a class not listed pm me and i am sure we can work somthing out, i want everyone to be able to play and have fun.
Alright i don't use dice in my games besides one 20 sided, everything you do is based on a percentage, so when you start say you are a warrior, and have a shortsword, your swordsmanship ability would start at about 40% its assumed you know something about your starting equipment, if i rolled under 40% on 5 rolls of a 20 sided die then you would hit what ever you were going after, if say i didn't you would miss but if i rolled a even 100 you would critical miss. which means you can drop your weapons or end up injuring yourself, spells damage and casting abilities are based off magic points. each spell is assigned a specific amount of initial cast points you can at leveling up choose to either learn a new spell or upgrade a existing spell. if you upgrade a spell it will increase in effectiveness and will cost slightly more magic points.
Weapons you are permitted if you have the gold to create weapons of your own design provided you can explain to me in detail how they work and as long as i approve them. Any other questions or comments please feel free to pm me or post them here, also when we start everyone will need to select a party leader, they will have final say so in where you all go, and if you accept certain quests and such.
Everyone is assumed to have starting equipment that i will deterimin, also your backpack will contain the following for everyone, 10 feet of light rope, a lantern, a tinderbox, cooking utensils, and a tent. Anything else you are responsible for buying.
Also, the race's we will use will be the Lusternia races.

Which edition D&D is this based off?
Sure isn't 3.5E...
Sure isn't 3.5E...
Marcalo2005-11-27 06:53:43
a bastardized version me and my friends made up since we all hated rolling dice for damn near everything. It actually makes it really easy to adopt it to any type of quest, fantasy, scifi, anything really.
Unknown2005-11-27 07:00:09
Well... since we're goin off lusternia, races and gods and such, can we actually have the classess as such as well, like Knight into Paladin/ur'Guard, Fighter into Seren/Ebonguard, Priest into Nihilist/Celestian/S-dancer/M-dancer, depending what god you follow, wizard into geomancer/aquamancer/blacktalon/hartstone. I mean it'd be a bit different from the normal one, seeing as the wizards, and priests, would have specific schools. The Paladin ur'guard would be pretty easy, seeing as you could just use the paladin and death knight, i think, the prestiege class one.
Well it's just a idea, since you were doing the races and such.

Marcalo2005-11-27 07:06:46
actually yes we can do that, it would make it ALOT easier for me. heh ok class changes are now to lusternia class's. Alright going to bed right now so i will be back asap and we will try to get this thing started or at least a little further along.
Unknown2005-11-27 07:12:37
If you dont mind, since i sort of got the idea, mind if i scan the 3.5 edition for classes that relate to the ones we have, to make it easier?
Daganev2005-11-27 07:42:43
errrm, If I wanted a new charachter in Lusternia, I would just play lusternia...
sorry.
sorry.
Unknown2005-11-27 07:48:51
Maybe, it wont totally be based on Lusternia though, i mean, the classess will be proper dnd classess, like blackguard for ur'guard, paladin for paladin, duh, pale master seemed quite nihilistic.
It's not going to be lusternia just based on it a bit, i mean we can have dragons!

And what is thief going to be? Or cleric? or Ranger? And whats a moondancer?
Where is the High Int Low Wisdom Gnome illustionist fit in?

Cleric would be a untrained guardian, which specializes at level 5 or something into a Nihilist/Pale Master or a Celestine/Hallifaxguardian/Gaudiguchguardian, dont know their classess yet.
Ranger would be serenguard/ebonguard/whateverguardackleberryhad since they're a forestal type fighter, or they would be a warrior that has taken hunting and a animal compaion, which would be changed to different types of dogs.
Thief can stay a thief, moondancer i dont know, but there's a Shadowdancer prestiege class from NWN which looks pretty decent.
The races would be that of Lusternia, so yeah.

Hmmm,
Could someone put up a full list of races and classes and how they compare to the rules we are using and what the race or class means?
In lusternia you pick skillsets, not classes so um yeah. And a shadowdancer is a type of ninja, not a wiccan

Was looking more at the summon shadow and evade shaddow, for Shadowdancers.
Say you wanted to be a fighter, you automatically get, heavy armor prof, medium armor, light armor, weapon prof martial, simple. At level 5 they can choose what specialization they want to go into, thus, weapon specialization feat in either, axes, double swords, single swords, or bludgeoning, thus the bonus would apply to all weapons of that type. They can then choose weapon focus when ever fighters normall get it, in a weapon of that type. BM's and BC's would automatically get ampi and two weapon fighting
They can then, if they're going to be a paladin/blackguard they would choose the feat of, well Rituals, which gives them access to the rituals spell school, which will be made, if they want hunting they can get skillfocus in animal empathy, which will turn them into the ranger class, keeping the weapon side of it, dropping the ability to cast divine spells, since there wont be any, the ampi rule would be removed, animal companion would be the different types of dogs that are available.
Upon reaching level 5 as a ritual using warrior, they gain the ability to change their spell school to necromancy or
the normal paladin spells, dunno what they are, so meh, would be cut back a bit though, since yeah.
As a ranger one, with skill focus in animal ampathy, they would at level 5 actually be able to gain their dog. And also they would get traps and such, what ever the rogue one is, as class skills, since they would be able to detect, disarm and set up traps.
That would be how warriors are done, a little complicated, but yeah, this isn't my game, so Marcalo might choose to do it differently, just trying to base it on the dnd classess and link to the Lusternian ones.
I can do more if you want, kind of trying to find more classes to fit the actually lusternian ones, i dont have the full prestiege class list, and cant be bothered getting the books, so was just checking the NWN manual.

Since we're limiting the classes, I'll go Wizard to start. I've always wanted to try more of a spellsword, but basic wizard works for me.
