Uhh since Marc is the DM, doesn't he have the roll the dice for the scores? Other then that it looks pretty good i guess, dont really like the online one.
Daganev2005-11-28 01:08:22
Does he?
I've always played that you just roll your own stats. Roll 3 6 sided dice 6 times and place the numbers where you like.

Isn't it mean to be the 4 sided and discarding the lowest, meh, well there's a few ways, he can just have it, gives us a certain amount of stat points, and we can put them where we want, or he can roll a generic set, and we can place those where ever we want, it's faster and yeah.
Daganev2005-11-28 01:14:46
Oh I forgot to name my riding dog... his name is Bogart Good gnomish name!
Marcalo2005-11-28 01:15:49
we never used stats really when me and my friends would play, all your skills had a percentage and if you got under the percentage you were able to do what ever, if you didn't you failed. Maybe my way is a little to weird to try to do, i have never really played the REAL way so if some one else would like to dm thats fine or if everyone would suffer through me bumbling along and everyone trying to learn my way thats fine also.
Daganev2005-11-28 01:17:18
Hmm, well how do you decide which skills you get and how many you can learn?
I like the percentage way, just a bit confused on how to create the charachter.

Dag, you do know gnomes get +1 to attack and armor class, not +11, your sheet has it in as 11, i was wondering how you had a armor class of 21 with no armor.
Marcalo2005-11-28 01:29:57
What we did was, each class started with basic eq, like a warrior, would start with a shortsword and a buckler, a thief with a dagger and a set of apprentice lockpicks
a mage would start with a dagger or staff, and a set of robes. then you would get 100 gold, and could buy some stuff usually from the first town you would come across.
As for skills there are guilds that you would pay to learn them from, like a thiefs guild or warriors guild, you would hone your abilties based on how much you could pay, so say to get like 5% further into a skill it would cost you like 2000 gold. Since you don't usually gain a % untill you level or unless you do somthing rather unique.
You would also start with basic skills, riding, cooking, and then skills based on your class. You generally start with 3 of those.
we just kinda simplified the game down so much we basicly almost made a brand new game.

Meh, I hate typos, When we figure out how we are playing I'll fix them.

For those who are not sure how Dnd is played, i suggest you look at... Dnd
Marcalo2005-11-28 01:48:49
ok so if everyone gets the gist of how to play roughly, we can start nailing down what races we will allow to be used.
for starters at least
human, elf, dwarf, gnome, halfling, orc, dark elf, and wood elf. If you want to be a race i didn't mention speak up before we set this into stone.

I am of the opinion that however this game will be played, it will be VERY different to D&D, which is fundamentally D20 rather than D100 at its core. So I don't think it will give a perfectly accurate picture of how complex (or simple) the rules are.
Daganev: I don't think it'd be too hard to translate into the base Divine (or FR Divine) from Lusternjia. Isune = Sune (Hmm ), Raezon = Vecna maybe, Auseklis/Shikari = Obad-hai?, Viravain = Lloth (modified, obviously ), etc.

I'll do a human wizard. (warmage if possible)

:/ If it's not too late to join, I'd ladly be a halfling. Just give me some time to choose a class. < <

well no one else has said anything on here, so i assumed it was put to the back burner, if people still want to do it, I will need some feed back asap.

OMG finally since RP is taught at universities it's not a weird geeky practice anymore!
I feel so normal it sucks.
