As a former guide from another IRE game, the only time non-guides were specifically told, "please don't do that", was when they weren't actually being helpful at all and their answers/comments were just confusing the newbies (or worse). It might be a case of an over-zealous guide who wants to hog all the questions... as odd as that sounds, but that's not terribly likely. If you know with 100% certainty that you are helping out newbies who would be lost otherwise then go for it, especially if no guides are around. But if you've been told on multiple occasions by guides and gods to back off, then you might want to reconsider and make sure that your comments are all appropriate.
