OMG JOLI WENT TO MAG

QUOTE(Aiakon @ Nov 30 2005, 11:34 PM)
Long may the 'stragglers and weaklings' continue to run to our stronghold of harmonious life, and mutual cooperation. There is nothing about Taint that absolutely decrees against affectionate behaviour or pacificism.

Yep, Demon Lords. Tower of Damnation. The very name Nihilists. I could find a couple of other things that somewhat fly against your idea that the Taint gives a greater appreciation of life. What you wrote was good though. Could easily convert those who do not seek to perceive the truth.
Kaileigh2005-11-30 22:52:19
You're trying to preach to the player, not the character, Aiakon

Not to mention undead, crucifixions, torture, that skill that gives diseases and can't be gusted away with a lich in the room, and a giant monster thing that is, to my understanding, essentially nailed to the ground that power's magnagora's protections. doh.gif
Aiakon2005-11-30 23:03:16
*chuckle*

Let's just say that Aiakon tries his best, shall we?

QUOTE(Aiakon @ Nov 30 2005, 06:34 PM)
Rubbish.

Roleplaying being Tainted doesn't necessarily mean: attacking everything in sight, it doesn't necessarily mean spreading the taint as much as possible, it doesn't mean being as deformed in mind as you are in body. Indeed, the realisation of that releases the 'tainted' believer from mundane, transitory, material things, to a higher appreciation of life.

ZOMG MARY!
She was awsome wub.gif
Arix2005-12-01 04:01:37
Wow, you guys are still going on about Joli joining Magnagora? The horse is dead, quit flogging it

I believe we have covered this ground about 50 times already, but Celest has JUST as many skills that do JUST as many horrific things to people as Magnagora does, its just that you try to cover it up by giving them prettier names, while we don't mind ours having descriptive descriptions.

We bury the dead. You eat the dead. I rest my case.

But they do it in a nice way.

I mean, would you rather be "atoned" for your sin or TORTURED?

The difference is that I was not on here talking about how Celest is not really evil. Your comrade was, and hence left himself open to counter arguments.
Unknown2005-12-01 05:50:20
we've had this discussion before...

of course there is an ooc standpoint that Celest might be more 'good' because of the relations to angels and such, but when you look at it, no organization is more guilty or innocent since all of them are constantly warring. In each organizations eyes, they are right and the others are wrong somehow...

But on topic, I know the horse is dead but I want to make Joli more apologetic, and in response to the 'if I said I was going to mag, everyone would just hunt me and think badly of me', I remember when elana went to glom for a bit and left a goodbye which was very understandable and along the lines of 'there isn't anything for me here, I don't feel I belong etc...'

feel bad, dammit dry.gif
Joli2005-12-01 06:03:27
Why is it required that I should feel bad?
Terenas2005-12-01 06:14:58
At least when Dumihru and I left Celest, we left a goodbye post and we'd been there since the very beginning. It's not a matter of feeling bad but rather to show some gratitude for what some had done for you, no matter how few of them there were. But whatever, it's a personal decision.
Joli2005-12-01 06:49:34
I thought about writing a post before I left, but I decided I couldn't think of anything nice to say and it is better to just to say nothing at all.

Unknown2005-12-01 06:57:09
Completely off topic, but I love you new siggie Joli.
Joli2005-12-01 07:30:02
happy.gif Thank you. I wub.gif it. I think I will change my description to fit the picture.
Verithrax2005-12-01 09:36:34
That sig is huge, but less of an eyesore than that ugly anime thing. Brownie points for the Python reference; so it's not going into my adblock.
Asarnil2005-12-01 10:24:09
If I wasn't feeling lazy, I would have resized it to ~ 225-250 pixels high instead, but I started out at the 300px and it turned out really well, so didn't want to mess with it too much. And sigs are only really bad when they are really big and a lot larger than 200kb - neither mine nor Joli's falls in that category.

*sigh* No appreciation for alternative intrests and insights into life through suffering.

Use slightly different words with the same literal meaning, and what you just described is Zen Budhism. Whats so evil about Zen Budhism? Pleasure through pain, power through restraint, control through non-action. Ultimate belief in nothingness. The need to feed and the terrible deformation that gluttony produces and the power that comes from such desires which need to be harnessed and controled save they go wild.

I think that pretty much sums up Joli. I couldn't have said it better myself. rolleyes.gif
