My newest venture...

So, for the heck of it, I threw my Xbox 360 up on Ebay. Crazy? Nah... See, I spent $600 or so, and the reserve price I set for it is a Lot more than that. So naturally, if it doesn't hit that price, it doesn't sell, and nothing happens.

If anyone here has an ebay account, and feels like bidding on it (you can't win it unless you bid more than what I set it for, and it's over $1000), feel free. No, I'm not telling you to inflate it at all... I'm... saying people should help it get to the reserve price quicker! (if it does at all)

If this sells, it knocks off about four more months of debt for me to the parents. Once I pay them off, I will have most of my paycheck to spend on cookies, candy, credits, and eventually, an apartment.

So:

1. Feel free to help me here

and

2. Did anyone else try selling one? tongue.gif

I am sad that I didn't think about ordering an early copy and reselling it.
Joli2005-11-29 21:45:19
I think if you would spend over $1000 on a gaming system that is -not- a computer.. You are insane. I might help get it up to the reserve, but if I win it I damn sure am not paying for it. tongue.gif
Arix2005-11-29 21:51:58
should I be concerned by the fact that I don't really want an X-Box 360?
Richter2005-11-29 21:52:06
Just don't bid over $1300. smile.gif

It amazes me that people are willing to spend so much money for something that will drop over 80% in price in just 1 month, especially since the amount of games out for it are fairly limited.
Ashteru2005-11-29 23:03:07
I actually don't understand what everyone likes about it...I mean....I am a total gamefreak, and when I think about it...nothing. Not even a -slight- inclination to buy it.
Joli2005-11-29 23:31:02
I love my ps2. I use it for a DVD player.

I wish I could actually find a game to play on it though.. sad.gif

Damn expensive game systems..

Drop 80%? Xbox 360 is going to cost $80 before Christmas? huh.gif

And yeah, only about 10 games out at the moment. But there will be more soon. I think I can survive a month or two with just a couple games that I want though... Don't mind waiting for Oblivion and *drumroll* Halo 3!
Arix2005-11-29 23:50:28
*refuses to jump on the bandwagon* mad.gif
Daganev2005-11-29 23:58:20
$1300 *.80 = 1040
1300- 1040 = $260

I think the Xbox will cost around $250 after Jan 1st.
Acrune2005-11-30 00:00:02
Nah. First price drop will probably be around Nov 06.
Daganev2005-11-30 00:07:32
Anyone know how much 40,000 yen is worth? Thats how much its going to cost in Japan, and I think thats why the E-bay sales are so high. Nevermind, thats only $350 for all the works.
Richter2005-11-30 01:02:56
I'm glad that all of you have this "inside information" about how Microsoft is going to drop prices suddenly. tongue.gif If they're selling like hotcakes, I can't understand why they would drop the price. Remember, they're already losing money on the systems because they cost so much to make...

And you can use google to convert money (google is god):
40 000 Japanese yen = 334.53200 U.S. dollars.
In Japan, there was only one bundle, kind of a middle of the road one, so the price makes perfect sense. They do get the hard drive though, but Microsoft made a push to give them exceptional quality, because Sony has them beat hands down overseas, and the last Xbox didn't do to well over there.
Daganev2005-11-30 01:18:13
Thats just what they said at E3, and after JAn 1st its not going to sell like hotcakes anymore because the gift giving season is over.

Well, the thing you have to ask yourself is this: Why buy the game system so early? Most of the launch games are just revamps of the old, already released games, and between now and the end of January there's only 3 games being released. February is when you'll see a nice bit of games appear (Including FFXI Online, which will look so beautiful for a console version), and from there it'll be a steady stream of games (Splinter Cell 4, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, etc), but still nothing too spectacular that's Xbox exclusive.

I wouldn't expect a price drop until next fall, if anything since they have no reason to lower the price until the PS3 is released.

Yeah, Oblivion, Crackdown, and some other original games need to come out (well, Oblivion is part of a series, but shhh). Lots of interesting things in the next few months, they should have some solid titles when the PS3 comes out.
