Was gonna get a 360, but bastardized Microsoft only released 50,000 in England, so the censor.gif that pre-ordered in around August/September snapped them all up immeadiately. So I'll be getting one for my birthday instead (mid February), and am just getting some 360 games, CD's and a new iPod for Christmas. (As well as 1000 creddies. Woo!)

I think I'm going to look into getting a new monitor for Christmas. Flat screen maybe. Remember my horrible sig because I couldn't see the colors? Well, hopefully no more of that problem  happy.gif

Flat screens are wonderfuuuuul... that and no nasty (very minor) CRT radiation.

And yeah, February is way better for the 360 anyway. Games will actually be out then.

Only probably with waiting until then is that I'd have to pay for all of it, instead of splitting it with the parents. glare.gif

Personally.. I'd get the 360 anyway if you can. Even though a 15"-21" inch flat screen would be nice (I personally want a second bigger one to watch television on since I'm really lacking in space), if the Xbox is messed up then Microsoft is going to owe you something. I hear if you have the proper elevation your Xbox won't overheat, though I'm not too sure about the other bugs associated with it. Even so, Microsoft will end up having a class action suit if they can't simply send everyone a patch (for the non-hardware issues) and you'd only benefit from it in the future.

I have nothing against the Xbox 360, but.. launch titles just aren't doing it for me as a gamer. You live on campus though (I think?) so it might be easier to find different people with games. Plus.. it sounds like you can afford the flat screen without them.

I know I won't get screwed if I buy an xbox now, but I really don't want to have to screw with it like I did with the first xbox. Nothing like getting your first game system ever, something you've wanted since super nintendo came out, and when you plug it in, it doesn't work. Left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth, but its not something I want to bother with again.

I also don't think I'd buy a monitor on my own. I really want a new one, but its hard for me to justify spending $300 on one. It could probably be easier for me to spend the money for the xbox 360 and a game. Although, that is $450-$460 instead of $300. Maybe I can trick my parents to pay for a little bit of it then, heh. So much money sad.gif

I bought myself a brand spankin' new red Nintendo DS for mah birthday, personally (which was two days ago). Picked up Feel the Magic (it's a lot more fun than it looks, believe me), Puyo Pop (puzzle games, yay!), and of course Mario Kart DS that came with it. Still have this interesting japanese male cheerleader music/rhythm game I need to pick up though. Ridiculously fun to play. Maybe Jump Superstars, nothing quite like beating the hell out of Kakashi with Ichigo, then having Ichigo beat up by Luffy. Ah, the randomness. wub.gif

My suggestion? If you have friends, a DS is an excellent investment. If you don't have friends, beef up your computer.

I'm gonna buy myself a full body massage for christmas. cool.gif

From me? wub.gif . I'm going to get a brand new Golden Melody in C Major for Christmas. And see some Chicago blues.
Joli2005-12-03 07:38:02
I'm guessing I'll get a bit of money from my relatives.. $40 for massage.. then the rest of it goes in the bank for college.

That's so uncool. sad.gif

Aren't you getting that nifty scholarship? Buy some clothes, chica!

... or save. I save too much. wacko.gif
Joli2005-12-03 08:25:59
Yes, but the scholarship is only 4k..and tuition is 10k a year.
Viravain2005-12-03 17:36:13
Consider getting a government loan. Granted, it'll generally be a 1/3 to 2/3 difference from subsidized to nosubsidized, but you don't pay them off till you are finished with school.

Holy crap, 10k...? Mine's 1.4kish a semester tongue.gif

On the subject of *Christmas*...

I helped my dad put those little icicle lights on our roof! Was really high up...

Oh, and I "decorated" my dog.

Sure. I took him for a walk with his ornaments and showed him off to everyone. biggrin.gif

Like the bells?
And the bow?

All he needs now are some antlers. And a sleigh. Snow would help too.
