I was going to suggest an idea I had for racial bashing grounds (only certain races can get to them), but I think I will get beaten with a pink umbrella if I do.

Psh, go ahead!
We wouldn't want to stain our pretty pink umbrellas anyway.

that would be neat, please suggest anyways? and what would restrict it so only those certian races could access them? something maybe like all races get two new non-skill(only the races have it, noone else but members of that race would have the ability to get it, unlike the current raciel abilities(like dive for mugwqumps, hunters and enviroment people can get it, i think) abilities for movement and then only those with the correct skills could access the place?

Personally I'd like to see some off plane stuff where we can not only bash, but do stuff to hurt enemy nexuses as well, like killing demon lords, except maybe a bit more universal (can be done over and over, not quite so grand)

Bear in mind that this would also mean that control of the area by an organization becomes important, as does hunting and killing opposing members that are hunting there.

Yeah, you're probably right... I haven't studied much about Soulforce.
How about a multicultural village that is discovered in the dead regions just to the west of the Razines, outside the Basin? A small passage through the mountains is found, though the path is confusing and dangerous to master. Beyond in this village, remnants of all races (except the new races of viscanti, faeling, and human of course) have huddled together to survive against a bitter environment untouched by the restoration of the Basin. The soil grows no plants at all, and the village is surrounded on all sides by endless rocky desert bereft of life. The village is fortified around the only source of water the villagers have found, a tiny waterfall that trickles through the mountains from the snow and rainfall on the Basin side. The culture is built around preserving and worshipping water, and their shamans draw on knowledge similar to the shallowest lore of the aquamancers in order to extend their small water supplies, and extract it from the dead. The only source of food in this hostile place is an algae that grows in the sacred pools around the waterfall, and occasionally poisonous insects that were able to survive in the desert. The desert around the village is plagued by undead horrors that survive from the time of the Soulless Ones, and though these creatures raid the village very rarely, they are devastating in their onslaught. Only very few adventurers would be brave enough to venture out into the deserts beyond the Basin to face them.
Sidenote: The villagers have not travelled beyond a distance of one day's water, so it is possible the northern, southern and eastern sides of the regions outside the Basin have their own inhabitants.
See, lots of possibilities for bashing grounds that serve an RP purpose.

Yeah, and you're ripping off Dune. I like it.

Alrighty then .
My idea was for Queen Maeve and the Fae to open up a new section of their Ethereal Forests, revealing a giant tree that stretches further than can be seen. The tree has no discernable entry point but if you are either Elfen or Faeling simply touching it's trunk will draw your body inside, where one can fight either for or against the shadows that bind the Fae.
EDIT: This could obviously tie in and add more depth to the Faethorn quests.

Psh, just because Dune used logic, and so did I, doesn't make it a rip-off.
Dune is so overrated.

I hadn't thought that far ahead, I honestly did not think others would like the idea of race-specific grounds. I will mull it over a little while I am doing some filing and get back to you.

I know they are but I kinda thought this one should be specific to Eflen and Faeling because of their connection to the Fae (Elfen did the deed with Fae, making Faelings ).
For Furrikin and Tae'Dae, maybe Yojimbo could grant them passage to a grove beyond Estelbar where they are forced to relive the time when the Taint was spreading through the Basin. They could fight against creatures forgotton by the histories when they were destroyed by the spreading of the Taint.
Just something off the top of my head, might be crappy.

Me too, especially how the roots and branches and whatnot stretch through all the world, and how Odin hung from it upside down and was granted the wisdom of the runes.

That's not a bad idea, QB.
One more:
* An extension to Astral: Cosmic & elemental vortex areas (not THE Vortex plane ) in which cosmic, elemental and astral vibrations are focused and combined into a mega-nexus that runs through all planes except Ethereal. This is an immense conduit of energy which helps to fuel all the city nexii and transports power from Astral to the other planes. In the cosmic and elemental areas that surround this vast reservoir, the concentration of power and potential causes dangerous effects - the essence of creatures, sentients and mortals from any place can manifest with augmented abilities that pose a dire threat to regular adventurers. For instance, on the elemental plane the energy may congeal into 'a firebreathing of lava', or 'a frosty encased in ice'. (Where denizen is replaced randomly by the name of a prime creature). On the cosmic plane, the creatures are more dangerous, with things like 'a radiant limned with fire', or 'a demonic oozing corruption and decay'. The Astral point of the conduit is tremendously dangerous, where even strange manifestations of mortal beings become reality. Imagine facing 'a shadow wraith with the visage of Elryn', or 'a hulking giant wearing Nejii's features', etc. (Ubercool edit: Player names are selected randomly from the current online list... and the denizen will USE THEIR WARCRY!! How awesome would that be!) In each area there are quests that can be completed to either channel and benefit from the power of the reservoir personally and organizationally, or quests that return and lock power within and restore some of the balance of the area.
Ok, I just think it would be cool to have randomly selected existing denizens and players that are beefed up and turned into high end bashables.
But it could work!

If that got implemented, I would lobby the admin to allow us to have both a motto and a warcry, just so that my shadow would come in and scream "I'm a pacifist, dammit!" at bashers.
Shorlen2005-12-02 20:34:29
Give us a bashing area that includes spiders that drop spinnerets and isn't a City/Commune
Verithrax2005-12-05 06:51:14
Not exactly a bashing area, but maybe the gods should be able to give people small experience 'gifts' for good roleplay, or for helping one's city/commune/guild? Maybe guildfavours/cityfavours from gods should come with a small experience boon?
