Trademaster DESIGN Help Needed.

Ok, I'm a cooking Trademaster. I've been one for quite a while, but have been very very lax in working on new recipes. I have decided to once again start making foods, but have run into a bit of an issue with the DESIGN list of commands. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to request a new sketch for me to base a design on. Say I wanted to make a cookie then the Pattern ID number is 85. Far as I can tell from the DESIGN list of commands DESIGN 85 REQUEST should give me that pattern for my use in creating a new recipe, but for the life of me it is no where to be found. I've tried CARTEL SHADOWFEAST LIST, etc etc and nadda. Since that is the only cartel of which I am Trademaster I can only figure that is where it will go. Am I requesting the patterns incorrectly? If so what is the correct way because there is nothing in DESIGN that states otherwise and no HELP files to be found ANYWHERE to explain all of these commands. I have asked several people for help and I am either getting the same advice to do things I've already tried or blank responses.

Please help?

Yeah, I tried requesting a design to base a pattern on, and it didn't show up on the cartel list. People need to stop changing stuff right after I figure it out. everytime I use DESIGN (anything) it tells me 'you base a design of of that'. When I last created a recipe and requested a design, I got 'design (1899) has been created'. That design then showed up on CARTELS EPICURE for me to fiddle with as needed. so what happened?

Agreed, I just get the feeling something was left off the new DESIGN list.

The system is doing some tweaks, obviously, give it some time.

And for the love of Us, please - REPORT THESE THINGS IN GAME. IN GAME. IN THE GAME. I'm tired of filing bug reports for the people who fail to report them where it matters, but will run to the forums about it lickety split.

It was a bug? oh, sorry then. I thought I was just doing something wrong
Penelope2005-12-02 03:37:30
Yeah, I hadn't realized it was a bug either. I just thought I was missing something and not doing the commands correctly. I had asked Arix in game for some help(since he's a cooking trademaster as well) and he was as stumped as I was so I just decided to ask on the forums instead of wasting Admin time with what I thought would be a silly question. Next time I'll ask with a BUG or ISSUE ME. biggrin.gif

And and...it wasn't lickity split. It was more like 2-3RL days pulling my hair OOC trying to figure it out and giving up each time. unsure.gif

First, DESIGN PATTERNS COOKING to see the 'patterns' you can base a recipe off of.

Then, DESIGN REQUEST (base pattern number) FOR (cartel name)

You'll get a sketch number for the food, and then you can use the following:

DESIGN (sketch number) APPEARANCE (inventory appearance, must start with an article and a lower case letter, must NOT end with punctuation, must include the pattern's keyword, like platter or dish)

DESIGN (sketch number) DROPPED (dropped appearance, must be a complete sentance, must include the pattern's keyword)

DESIGN (sketch number) EXAMINED
(opens the editor to enter the examined description)

DESIGN (sketch number) TASTE (message when tasted)
DESIGN (sketch number) SMELL (message when smelled)
DESIGN (sketch number) COMSUME (message when eaten)

DESIGN (sketch number) COMMODITIES (comm name) (amount of comm) (second comm name) (amount of second comm) (etc)

DESIGN (sketch number) SUBMIT
(submit the design)

Remember with all this that (sketch number) is the number of that SKETCH, not the base pattern. CARTEL (cartelname) LIST will show you all the sketches you requested and can work with.

Unrelated matter, but I reported a bug to do with a manse, got no response. So I issued it, now the issue is gone. Still no response sad.gif. Not much incentive to report these things in game when that kinda stuff happens.

If you submit a bug, it gets looked at and put in the proper place to be fixed, in the order of its importance compared to other matters currently in the works at the time. Unfortunately, cosmetic designs are not nearly as important as things that can be harmful to the game, so those take priority. The coders and other volunteers work very hard to keep things going fairly smoothly, you might not know how much.

But it will get done.

Shorlen's information about DESIGN REQUEST (base pattern number) FOR (cartel name) worked. On DESIGN all it says is DESIGN (sketch) REQUEST
and that's what threw me off and got me so frustrated. If didn't have the FOR (cartel name) as an additional note. Thanks guys.

To be fair, most people that are new to the design system think (and are correct) that they're just putting in the wrong commands. I walked someone through the entire process just the other day, and she was just inputting it incorrectly. If I submitted a bug report every time something didn't work, you'd all be irritated at me, because 90% of the time I'm doing something wrong. Most of the time too, these people have no clue something might be a bug, and are associating it with human error.

No I was going by an older trademaster post Lyren made.

tongue.gif I just knew to ask the Granddaddy Trademaster.
Richter2005-12-02 07:56:09
Yeah, and that post was made before the big round of changes. Glad to help anytime. wink.gif
