A revelation

Back to Common Grounds.

to be honest i always thought most magnagorans only play to ruin everyone elses fun and destroy the game for them, at least thats what its always seemed to me. i really hate the fact that most of magnagora has only ever prayed a few times in there life because of lich so they just keep coming back with no problems and there is absolutely nothing anyone from celest can do about it because if we die we actualy lose something. and then when someone like geb did use his skills effectively and finally forced some mags to pray (most of them had probably never heard of what praying is or how it works) they rant non stop because they finnally died after attacking other people.
it seems to me mag sits behind lich believing that this game is for them to have fun and no one else and if anything does actually finally kill them its obviously overpowered and should be removed from lusternia as wheres the fairness of a celest/serenwilde player being able to kill them?

and yes i know this isnt true of everyone but it seems to be right about most that i meet, you normally have no reason, you have nothing to be frustrated about, you just enjoy harming everyone else alot of the time

Its also nice that its the exact same arguments:
"I'm right!"
"No, I'm right!"
silimaur2005-12-03 15:38:40
no no dyr i prefer the stance: "everyone is wrong but me" tongue.gif

QUOTE(Narsrim @ Dec 3 2005, 09:16 AM)
The problem I see, which I think people are implying but not openly stating is this:

Given village conglutination, there is literally almost no experience loss in a village. There are people (like Shayle, bless her heart) that will run into a group of enemies -intentionally- to die and get grace. She will influence for 15 minutes, grace will drop, and she'll self sacrifice again.

It basically boils down to permanently having grace.

I spend more time graced in most village influences than Shayle does. I feel about the same way about it that she does. Do I want to die? No, I'd rather you died. I have no issue with using a resource at my disposal to help get the village, though.

I think you have Shayle confused with someone else, Narsrim.

QUOTE(Shayle @ Dec 3 2005, 10:35 AM)
Please note:  I do not like to die.  Nor does Shayle, even for graced influencing.  Let it be known that I will not intentionally die for anything.  As it turns out, I'm just (and I know this is going to surprise you all) not a very good combatant, especially when influencing, as I find it hard to concentrate on influencing, fending off debaters, and not dying all at once.  I -will- however, thank people for killing me, because it does seem to be a polite, yet spiteful, way to handle being wisped into a group of mean people.    tongue.gif

Ok, I recant: You may not intentionally fling yourself into death, but it doesn't bother you to risk yourself because it puts you in a better position to die since you'll have grace.

Thank you for modifying your earlier comment. Let's clarify this one as well. You'll find I don't much mind putting myself at risk in defense of the commune or its villages either. It's part of that whole "nothing matters but Glomdoring" mindset, you see--the one I roleplay with my character.

Actually its very true.

Anly few people in Celest have Conglutinate, 80% if not more of defenders on Celestia when Mags attack have to pray after they die. Even if somone will rezz them or sacrifice we still lose something.
I just hate to sacriofice on level 90 but there is only few that can sacrifice.
But 80% of Celest is realy upset of constnt dieing and praying and watching how lich users come back and back and never actually pray.

Use trueheal more. tongue.gif
Unknown2005-12-03 20:28:41
That's just because most Celestians are lowbies and wouldn't have lich even if they were in Magnagora.

There is NO argument that can be made against lich with ecology now around.

No man, there is - they are only druids and we are the evil bastards who should rot and die.
Malicia2005-12-03 20:39:36
Something like that, yeah.
Unknown2005-12-03 20:44:26
Just so you know, there is one thing that revive you if you die, which is availiable to all, it's called Vitae, and not everyone in Mag has lich, only Nihilist's and ur'Guard do, and even then it's not really that many, just really those who fight.
Laysus2005-12-03 20:59:30
Vitae sucks, usually it's just a second death.

Yes but it's the constant raiders that have it. And why do they raid all the time? Because they know they have a very high chance of not losing a single percent of exp when they die. Even if a Celestian has vitae and conglut.. we can't be as reckless as Magnagorans.
Narsrim2005-12-03 22:32:55
Vitae is nice when combined with something else. Vitae/spores, for example, is wonderful.
Kaervas2005-12-03 22:35:06
Lichdom is such a great help for us Geomancers, we have to love our non-existing undead state. tongue.gif

Only if they're trans Necromancy and chose Necromancy over Hunting/Tracking.

You know what Aesyra, i think you're wrong there...I spent abot a week in magnagora without lich, I still raided easily as much, and died the most out of everyone (they like to target me in groups first, i dont know why its not like i'm a damage whore).

Conglut is pretty low xp wise, but then again i'm only lvl 78, which is kinda where I will stay, i've hit it 23 times so far but I don't mind.

I hate to say it but I find that hard to believe given how much you freaked out the couple of times I saw you pray. Remember that eye sigil someone'd put in the trees outside of Stewartsville when we were camping outside it after Maelee'd attacked Dairuchi? And then you came out, tried to lich in, failed, and died and had to pray? Do you remember how much you were swearing about how everyone was going to pray in return in tells?

I don't think you ever did it, but you're not as unaffected by it as you'd like us to believe. tongue.gif

Man..if only there was a BS emoticon.

How many times did you freak out on Bellators whenever you die? Hell, you said you'll step up on your 'planar griefing' after you died and had to pray raiding one of Serenwilde's village when Southgard was uninfluenced. This was minutes after you started this thread. doh.gif
