The pact damage can be completely nullified by shielding or having someone weave a reflection.
Anyway, I love that entering a pit, pacting, or traveling to/from Luciphage causes so much damage. It reflects the harsh, merciless nature of Nil.

Nihilist pacts don't auto-kill you, they just deal so much damage that you need something like 5000 health to survive it.
Anyway, the point is, fae dying on Cosmic would make sense and it would add balance. Cosmic beings surviving on ethereal is balanced and could be passed off as the big bad demons and uberangels being more naturally resiliant than those fragile wee nature spirits. Also, fae death would take long enough to go into affect (20-30 seconds?) that you would be able to transverse to astral safely.

That's really lame. So basically if a successful demon raid is pulled off, the Nihilists not only take a temporary nerf due to pact loss, but also a semi-permanent nerf due to losing up to 3 or 4 levels. This might not be that big of a deal to bash back up, but Celestines have practically all the advantages skillset wise and it just so happens that Magnagora isnt really a match for Celest lately in player ability.
Edit: Ooh, the shield idea sounds good.

You are a Nihilist not a wussy Celestine. If you want snuggles, go visit Raziela.

For once I agree.

And anyways, I swear I used to stack "pact" + "grovel" and never get hit.

If there is an easy way to avoid it, then that is okay.

My character loves the taste of demon fist, this is a player complaint
Although i've conceded, i didnt think of something as simple as shielding while i was getting ritualisticly wtfpwned.
And seconded on the point that it's a good thing to have harsh and painful surprises when messing with Demons in the equivalent of Hell, i was fine with it..found it pretty badass infact. I was just referring to the cumalitive penalty it could incur on the guild from a gameplay point of view, which doesnt apply now

Bend over

I can see it now:
Your mind fills with battle rage and you scream out, "Bend Over and take it like a man!"

So anyway, yeah i think Guardians need an element of utility. Currently from my experience they seem to be solely aimed at personal vendetta one on one combat, and enchanting. Given that they are the most powerful means to hinder if you count mobility in the equation, they should be a great asset to any defense or offense party. Where i came from raids were on cities, if that were the focus here i could see Guardians forte being city defense, because while gimped in being able to actually kill an opponent..with support in the form of a knight or mage a Guardian makes the team almost unstoppable. Maybe this is why they have the weakness they do, because if their job is solely to lock you up as support and not worry about damage then they do it too well.
Still i think the name "Guardian" is a bit of a paradox, and Warriors cant readily jump to cosmic and defend. Mages can happily beat off all comers with a few skilled fighters and a bit of preparation, but they cant defend cosmic and elemental at once.
Eh i dunno, in the short time ive been here ive never seen any horrific failures to guard cosmic, apart from that big loss of Supernals in celest not long ago, but if i remember rightly that was mostly due to the absence of well..anyone who can fight in Celest, and barely any Celestines.

Guardians are great in group combat. Amaru was always fun to have around to help you out.

You shouldn't forget their passive healing/manaregenerating abilities. Or those blessings....Moondancers are the damn best bashing class, believe me.

Mother heals health.
Sprite heals mana.

That's why
I can also summon a maiden if I'm royally screwed for some temp healing too.

They deal far more than 2000 damage. I have 3566 health and they all kill me in one hit when pacting or groveling, except for Nifilhema, who deals 800 or so bleeding.
