They deal far more than 2000 damage. I have 3566 health and they all kill me in one hit when pacting or groveling, except for Nifilhema, who deals 800 or so bleeding.

They don't deal any damage if you pact and immediately grovel.

Furthermore, the damage varies based upon which attack is used. With putrefaction up, Baalphegar shouldn't deal over 2000 health in one attack period. Gorgulu, on th other hand, has a 3k room attack (stupid slime).

No demon lord (or lady!) hits me for more than 2000. Maybe it's because of trans resillience, or magic, or defences, I don't know.

Narsrim, new people don't usually know that kind of tricks. And old, more powerful players don't need them.

EDIT: Besides, that sounds like cheating. You're supposed to get hit, that's when they say they'll pact with you (if I remember right, and I'm quite sure I am).

You shouldn't forget their passive healing/manaregenerating abilities. Or those blessings....Moondancers are the damn best bashing class, believe me.

Mother heals health.
Sprite heals mana.
I can also summon a maiden if I'm royally screwed for some temp healing too.

At least Nihilists get puella and putre to help with bashing. Geos don't get a thing healing wise sad.gif

Putrefaction isn't helpful much, though I suppose some use that for heavy bashing or if they have high regen... For me, it's detrimental.

As far as bashing goes, does staff, tankiness with telekinesis and demesne for regen not count anymore? tongue.gif

That's the point entirely.

Putrefaction provides a 45% resistance (which I know for a fact because it was stated on the envoy board when it was being discussed) against physical and blunt damage alongside a health drain. If you are fighting relatively low-hitting creatures, it probably isn't worth it; however, when bashing on Astral and such, it can be quite useful.

Furthermore, putrefaction's drain is around a negative level 3 health drain. Thus if you have level 2 health regen + mercy (or higher), you should regen any damage.

And finally, it is just outright better for Ur'guard.

Thing is, it's never worth it for me.
If I'd find myself in the situation where damage absorbed would actually outpace the health loss from putrefaction drain, that means I need to run anyway. Fast.
