I actually had a post I was trying to submit saying to bring it IC and give another example of Narsrim's lack of honour to the entire Basin. But when I hit submit, the thread was locked. And then it got reopened afterwards.

I hate a lot of the 'TAKE IT IC NOW!' comments, because people don't realize that you can argue one way OOC, and one way IC. Hell, you can even argue a different side to the one your character would.

For instance, Elryn could argue ICly that Glomdoring is unnatural and wrong forever based entirely on the White Hart telling him that. He believes completely that our spirits are right, and the tainted ones are wrong. Gee, that's going to be an interesting debate when there's no possible way he can be convinced otherwise, no matter what is presented.

Yet, OOCly, I the player can use mechanics, history, mythology and objective interpretation to argue my own thoughts about Glomdoring as a political organization. I don't have to maintain the devotion my character has to dogma and blind faith.



The only threads that should be locked are those that are obviously written from an IC viewpoint. That is, those that start talking about qualities of 'magnagorans' or 'serenwilders'.

The point of the forums is letting us talk about Lusternia from an OOC perspective, which is a good, important thing. If we didn't have the forums, we'd probably get the opposite problem, with OOC seeping into the game. I'd rather have forums filled with garbage than a game filled with garbage.

This being said, I think we do need more mods to smack the people who try to sneak IC stuff in here. Bang them with a hair brush and scream 'NO!' or something.

I agree that the forums are fine except for one thing. Too many people comment just to be annoying douches. They know who they are and they know that they aren't adding anything to the conversation except annoyance and grief.

Mods won't solve that.

To many people make threads to be dramaqueens too, pity we can't deal with that either.

There's a very simple way for you to be rid of those annoying (and I agree they're annoying) whine threads: When you spot one, put the thread starter onto your ignore list. Great relief. Granted, it won't be as great as if people would whine ICly and we could keep the proper verbal abuse comming for being such a sillyhead but hey... better than nothing.

Who the hell cares if you can express something one way OOC, what does it matter. Its not like you're going to get any situations changed any more than someone else.

Argue it IC, and let your envoys duke it out on the envoy board...I think thats the best solution. If the admins want good feedback, then they should listen to the envoys more, and you can direct your arguements through them....

Its a much better solution, especially for people like Narsrim who tend to have a public shot at the admins to try and make them look bad here just to get something changed...he can do that on envoy board where its less public and more likely to be taken seriously, with an added benefit on not looking like such a friggin douchebag all the bloody time

Idea: Make 2 idiots subforums. 1 for IC things only (where only IC things that can't be discussed IG can be discussed) and 1 for OOC + IG + IC things (where anything goes).

That would be pretty hard for people to tell the difference after a while, though...

Didn't we have a big argument on GT where you said you were right, even when Hart and Lisaera said otherwise, and you claimed they were misled or something?

I questioned the interpretation of what they had said, yep. As soon as Lisaera stepped in, I was proved wrong and had to drop it.

I'm only human, and I make mistakes. I wanted Elryn to suspect that Blacktalon raised Glomdoring-type trees, because I had (and would still have) trouble understanding things otherwise. Obviously, I was wrong.

If you want to take further digs at my roleplay or character, feel free to do so in game. It would probably help move things along.

Edit: I'd also be happy to show you the conversation if it would make that task easier. In fact, I was damn proud of myself in that argument.

Actually, I personally take the Envoys board more seriously than most of the forums. However, a couple of envoys in the past have... damaged the credibility of the board somewhat.

Generally, I try to look for the good in all ideas I hear, and I leave it to those giving the ideas to choose the method in which they make them public.
