You really should do some research into psychoses. You could meet a sociopath and never know it. In fact, that's not too uncommon smile.gif

Find a definition of Neurosis, Pscyhoses and contrast Sociopath (a personality disorder.) I'm pretty sure they're different.

I still stand by my point: A highly Neurotic person will have issue functioning.

So yeah, we have now Moors, Bondero, Sharks, Water, Earth, Shallach, Katas to gain experience and gold, huh? Well.....if THIS won't lower the credit prices, nothing will. At least I can bash the catas and might still be able to make some gold. Shallach and Inner Sea falls away since I am enemied to Shallach and Landantine, so....well.....that change pretty much screwed my chance to ever trans anything with IG credits.
Not to mention that I won't even be Demigod in a year. Hell, I gained 15% from bashing Astral yesterday, as a human with Harmony blessing. Is that much? Yep, but I am only level 80. Gold and ultrastrong mobs, I would have enjoyed. normal mobs and no gold still would screw a lot, but I could've hunted. Ultrastrong mobs without gold AND insanity....well, byeybe, Astral.

15%? In how much time? Because that might be faster than I manage to hunt prime at level 61.

{snips lots of crap}

I'll wait a month before I comment further. I think we all should. Invest the time used here into playing the damned game. smile.gif

meh, I'm not liking this semi-dementia...it's trippy...I keep thinking enemies are in the city heh
Gregori2005-12-05 06:57:20
Astral with gold meant people could do things like... buy and build a manse; support their shops, because Trade skills are so badly skewed the thought of making gold from them is almost as insane as going to Astral for an hour; not bash out every small place, allowing small people to bash and get gold too.

Ah well. I am done complaining about this, as I suspected it is the usual case of "give it time". It really is no wonder Lusternia constantly loses so many of its best players. I wonder if there was a memo suggesting this happen or something.

Heh, glad someone noticed that effect.
Unknown2005-12-05 06:59:09
OMG does this mean 1000 gold willl now actually mean something? Does this mean it will now actually be possible to make gold with tradeskills? biggrin.gif
Gregori2005-12-05 07:00:23
You couldn't make gold with tradeskills when Astral was crystalline, Don't know why you suddenly think it will be different now.

I did :/ kept seein urazial, and just targetting only to find he wasnt there sad.gif

Oh, and btw, the insanity messages at later levels are awesome, I really enjoyed them, infact, I really liked the whole insanity experience. Heck. I love everything about these changes, aside from the stupidity. sad.gif

Normally I wouldn't even mention it, as no one has done real testing, but I did recalculate the stupidity effect. The other minor effect(which maybe you noticed, but I don't think anyone else did), now starts out after a few minutes. Stupidity effect used to start at about the same time, now it's alittle bit later.

Wasn't it Gwylifar or Daganev who posted something about how Estarra needed to reinvestigated the idea of insanity on Astral?

Would it be possible to just drop the stupidity completely? I was somewhat idly thinking of another mental affliction, a form of nausea for crow disease. While you have it, concentrating is difficult, which makes eq-based activities twice as long as normal and preventing diag.

Or, well... just something interesting that doesn't involve stupidity. sad.gif
Verithrax2005-12-05 07:18:15
Yeah, stupidity is a silly affliction. It doesn't have much to do with insanity, only with... being stupid.
Gregori2005-12-05 07:22:45
The closest I could see Stupidity to Insanity is Tourette's Syndrome... and trust me.. I don't need to be on Astral to randomly swear at people

Then again, how many "stupid" people do you know? How many of them while walking through a hostile (bad part of town or something) area, remove their backpack, throw it onto the ground, pick it up, check for secret passageways, and then accidently start digging? (and I did all of these during wildnodes earlier almost back-to-back-to-back).

Even stupid people have limits smile.gif

Well, it is called an "unnatural stupidity" for a reason. But still... having it as an herb cure is okay, having it as something you can't get rid of just is horrid. sad.gif

I'm only halfway through the pages on this thread but...

Don't you all think that this is going to be tweaked and adjusted a bit over time? Everything gets tweaked a bit over time. It gets released one way, the Admin see it doesn't quite work as expected or they didn't realize how much it was going to affect this or whatever and they tweak it. Look at Karma Curses. Look at that five person limit on your suspect that got raised to ten. Look at most of the skills in the game.

Everything gets tweaked. Why is everyone acting like this is any different? It may seem crazy over the top now, but it's only been out for a day.

I'll read the rest of the posts now and probably find where someone else already said this, but I just couldn't not say it anymore.

Yes, we all know. There is really no need to point out the obvious.

The problem which was addressed, which I do agree with is that everything comes in extremes. To make this more clear, let's use a scale of 0-10. 0 represent no change. 10 represents extreme change. Now... I don't see why the target goal is not a 5 when introducing new mechanics such as this. If it is too low, it can be tweaked just slightly to be a 6 or 7. If it is too high, it can be tweaked just slightly to be a 4 or 3.

Why is it necessary to start off at 10, spend a week or so, move down to 8-9, spend a week or so and move to 6-7...? Now, I know my scale isn't the same scale as everyone else's, but I think it is pretty clear at this point that I'm not entirely alone in my assessment that everything seems to happen in big bangs instead of small .
