That is a possibility, Kaervas. You never know - small changes have been put in already, as Hajamin has mentioned, I believe.
Kaervas2005-12-05 18:57:59
That would be sweet, the recovery part only seems to encourage people going afk as it wears off because it takes so long in some cases.

i personally dont like new astral...a lob killed rusta in one hit from full health, two killed me in one hit each....do thwy really need to be this powerful i mean 5k damage in two hits...i never had a chance even with numen they kill as they regain balance about 2.5 times faster then me

Would also be sweet if being neurotic didn't make you do crap like fondling yourself and yelling about cheese, have it give indifference or something that doesn't make you do totally retarded things (babbling, gibbering- yes, fondling- no). Some of us have an image to maintain tongue.gif

Alright, I feel the need to apologize for complaining so much. I do get carried away and I do tend to look at the proverbial cup half empty when the option presents itself.

Now, one of the things that I found fascinating was the idea of healers roleplaying for a skill. In some ways, this reminds me of roleplaying in Aetolia (anyone who has ever dealt with Niuri will know) where roleplay was like the ULTIMATE option. If you wanted to do something, if you had a goal... and you reeeeeaaaallly worked for it, it was possible. That was something that I really did treasure about Aetolia.

Given I haven't truly roleplayed to what I would call the best of my ability in Lusternia, I'm not the chief souce on the topic, but so far... I've just felt like roleplay wasn't really an option to do such wonderful things as investigate new skills, etc.

To me, it seems like most things are pre-destined and roleplay really consists of fitting in somewhere and riding the pre-destiny slide to wherever it is destined to go. As a result, I don't really roleplay a lot. Perhaps I have it all wrong or perhaps I just haven't been looking in the right places, but it just seems to me like roleplay is less personal in Lusternia. I just don't have the same warm, fuzzy feeling I used to adore.

==============================================

Now, given the idea that players do have the "power" if you will to shape Lusternia through roleplay, I really like the idea of healers working to discover a skill. I think those sorts of movements would definately benefit everyone.

However, I can't think of any cases so far where it is has happened so far... which may be part of the problem. I think people don't perhaps realize the potential available and assume (as I have) that roleplay isn't as powerful as it is.

I just love how my STAT says I'm completely sane. I almost bugged it, but then someone told me about Astral

I'm sure Diamante could tell you of the other fun stuff that occurs when you start to become more insane...

That's so wicked of you. You tempt us to become insane only to realize the neato effects while we suffer. kiss.gif

Makes me tempted to stay up there for ages to try it out, if only I wouldn't have to spend hours sitting around doing nothing afterwards I actually would.

*tries not to imagine Terentia in a tutu but fails miserably*

Yeah but I'm getting the impression that it gets even worse than that.

Odd, I was wondering when the Telepaths were going to start reseaching how to -give- people insanity. never thought about the healers though.

As for roleplay events, didn't the whole adder and snake thing come about because some players were doing minor RP things which caught on?
And years before Shallach came out I remember being in charge of researching its existance, don't know if the person who followed me ended up finding shallach or not, but that was started by players.
And quite a few of the viravain things I think came about from player actions.

One thing I do know from personal experience, that all too often when you try to start a RP thing, other players will be like (did a god tell you to do this? If not, I'm not getting involved)

Oh, and as to astral and credits... When astral opened up again, prices of Credits did infact go up to 4.5K instead of the even 4K they were at before. For a few days I was even selling at 4.7K when before astral openeed I was unable to sell credits for even 4.1K. If people spent more time on astral the prices could have gone up even higher. So before you all start insulting and bashing people, be a little bit more honest with yourselves.

I never said there was a relation between Astral and transing skills; I only said that Astral was a playground for people with high levels and transed skills, giving them an advantage besides having a high level and transed skills: they had a better source of experience and gold than everyone else. Now, while you still get to bash Astral for experience (Since experience gain would be too slow without high level areas) you have to go down to Prime to get gold. That means that the only advantage you have while getting gold is a high level and high skills. While before you got to take gold from a better source, now you just harvest the same sources everyone uses, but faster, balancing the game and making sure that skills and levels are the only things that make you richer than a lower level player, not the fact that you can bash in obscenely profitable places the lower level player can't reach. It also slows down exp gain for high level people, meaning that the lower level people can get close to their power level more easily.

Verithrax....Astrogate is around gifted. Before I bought credits, I had Druidry at Mythical 18% or so, so just sap, nothing in stag but staghide, a bit in Dreamweaving. AND I had gifted Jewelry and expert Planar. So, please don't tell me it's unreachable.
