to be honest, I'm not 100% sure about the "affinity" thing... however.

Mage runes, illusions and the like seem to have a cosmic base to them, as does the very highmagic skillset. (if not astral)

but more importantly, anyone who has a connection to 1 plane has a minor affinity to the planes adjacent to it, and planes that are not adjecent to eachother repel eachother and do bad things when forced to mix. This is why you can build a rift between planes, because there is a connection to them.

All the other connections sound like good springboards for ingame books and debates.

Ah, as if I wasn't confused enough trying to explore and figure out the astral plane on my own.

I must say, wow! It is an interesting change. I went and killed a dozen eagles and must say that they have become a lot stronger...no more fighting 3 or 4 at once. What bugs me though is that those creatures that come from linking don't seem to drop any gold at all and I think that is a bit too much.

I agree with Xenthos and I know that some people won't like it but it looks as if sparkleberries will become more rare or rather more expensive...you know, harvesting with a neurosis is annoying.

I should still be able to keep doing so as well, but most others? Not really. And even for us, it's going to get really tedious.

No more gold from Astral? ....

3 days after I started bashing up there, it becomes completely unattractive....

that gold was my main source of income, you could make a 30 k there in couple of hours bashing

I know I just get use to bashing there and it does this

I dislike the no gold.. less gold would have been fine, but no gold just creates the problem of everyone bashing out prime again so they can get gold.

persoanlly a like the no gold. More goats for me and less compitition since I get gold in other ways.

What I don't like however, is the fact that I'm stuck to one sphere because if a door closes on you you'll be completely insane before you can get back
