I'm not sure but to make item with custom description, resetting and not decay. Is 50cr each. And i dont think admin will allow weapon to be not decay if total stats are above 463 points.
Cheapst Great rune is 150cr too, and you get boost to stats or wounds and resetting and not decay. You throw 50cr more and can have cusomization too.
Thats how i understand those.

As per the thread Richter made... you can't get a weapon customized unless it already has a great rune attached to it. I sent an email asking for that file to be fixed, with all of the relevant confusing bits highlighted, but they're backed up at the moment.
At that point, it's 50 credits for the customization, as the weapon's already reset/non-decay from the rune.
This means that the ONLY way to get non-decay/reset is to pay 150 credits for the smallest Great Rune and attach it.

In that case i will costomize my swords one day. It will be only 200cr for 4 swords but first i need to get 300cr for two more runes.

Nooo, that's not what they said. You can get a weapon customized at any time (Thorgal has non-resetting custom weapons). However, yes, to get a weapon to reset to you, you have to place a rune on it, at 150cr for the cheapest.
Unknown2005-12-11 22:16:15
And I don't suppose you could costomize things like an Aqua staff for example?
Richter2005-12-11 23:18:37
We're not sure how that works, actually. Someone mentioned runing an athame or a staff, and we think it'll reset to you, but no one is sure. As for actually getting it -custom-... I don't think anyone has asked that before.
So, if Hajamin reads this thread:
1. Can summoned weapons have runes on them, to make them reset, so that you do not have to call them again?
2. Can you customize a summoned weapon?
I was under the impression that you could not do the second, and I wasn't sure about the first. It reminded me about summoned loyals, and how you could not put a collar on them.

I know someone asked at one point. If you put a rune on a decaying weapon (ie. athame, staff, cudgel), you could then customize it. I think it was Penelope who issued and asked.
Sekreh2005-12-12 05:15:30
That would admittedly be pretty cool. Would it change, say, the nature curse message, or would you still see "Athame Dagger" or whatever?
Hajamin2005-12-12 05:26:16
From my understanding, it is possible but will probably cost more than normal as it would require hard code changes, and not just changing the description. It would also NOT allow you to cast the spells if you forgot the skills(obviously). No, the attack messages would not change.
Hajamin2005-12-12 05:27:35
Note, with the addition of jewelry runes, jewelry can not be made to decay+reset for only 50cr. If used on an enchantable item, it gains 10 charges too. Mmmmm 110 charge rings.
Ixion2005-12-12 05:29:58
Kinda expensive for rings, brooches/wands/crowns are by far a better deal.
Sekreh2005-12-12 06:36:53
I wonder if describing a wand as a staff would change the essential nature of what it was. It's just a longer stick right?
That would be an interesting enchantments customization.

Yea but the one ring sounds so cool!

And what about attacks whose sole point is to destroy the summoned weapon? i.e. Maelstrom. If I use that I break my staff.. so if I had a customized one.. would I lose it forever? Or would it reset to me later but would that mean I'd had to run around without a staff until it does or could I summon a 'normal' one in the meantime?

I added up how much it would cost for the 7 high leveled items, customization, and 3 enchantment runes.
...7500cr.

I imagine they'd have to code some extra things in to make it all work smoothly.

Champions can break their staffs then re-summon them immediately afterward. That'd suck if all Mages can do that though...
Sylphas2005-12-13 01:23:43
No, they can't. They have to wait for another 10 power and for max mana again. Unless you're fighting them on their own plane. And even then, Maelstrom/Fury/Pollute are rarely used.
Unknown2005-12-13 10:02:02
Maelstrom only works in demesne and breaks the demesne when used.. so even if you could resummon your staff immediatly and break it again.. you'd have no demesne.. leaving aside the fact that you'd be at 0p and would need another 15p for all that.
Sylphas2005-12-13 10:24:43
Fury didn't break demesne, I don't think.
Of course, only time I used it was to kill Malicia on the test server.
