I agree with Narsrim on the notion that we need more artifacts altogether. Perhaps some of those items that were on auctions (namely those that had 5 up for auction) could be available to the general public now.

I want a scrub enchant on my flails, that way, I can "wash" smelly novices. *evilgrin*

blink.gif Hitting on novices is just wrong man.

I like the idea (apart from having to go and get new jewelry tongue.gif), but I have a quick question:

Can you put runes on wands? If so, do they need to be wielded or just held to be 'active'?

Can someone put up the HELP scroll concerning these runes for those of us that can't read em? thanks

Try looking here smile.gif

Haven't checked in-game to see if it's the same, but I don't imagine why it wouldn't be. unsure.gif

And I agree with others ... such a nifty idea! I love how the little rune is only 50cr, which is actually affordableish for sometime not in the far-far-far-far-far-distant future, as other things seem to be. wink.gif

One thing that seems kind of harsh is when you'd like to change the item (for example if you switch organization and it just totally doesn't fit you anymore. Shiro's pegasus comes to mind.), you have to trade in all the runes for 1/3 of their price. It's cheap in case of those cheapest runes but for expensive ones... horror. And you just want to attach it to another item, not for free but for a reasonable price.

It's not that important I guess, was just pondering.

I don't understand why we can't just remove the runes and re-attach for free, it's not like you didn't buy the rune in the first place. sad.gif

In case of weapon runes it's completely understandable. In case of jewelry, not really.
I also think it should be free in case of jewelry runes.

Think about it:

I attach a rune to a brooch, it charges to 50 charges. I remove rune, attach it to something else and so on and so forth. One rune could then add +10 charges to all enchants.

Uh, the charges would reset back to normal if the runes are removed? It's not as if the weapons with prior elemental runes removed will still have their damage converted to elemental type. doh.gif

Couldn't you just spent 50 credits and rename the piece of jewellery so that it DOES fit with your new location? Seems spending 50 to change the appearance is better than trading in all the runes and getting a new piece of jewelery... or am I missing something?

Not everyone is creative like that, to come up with his own description, or might really desire one of existing ones. But that's a point I suppose.
Besides, it's still additional 50cr.

I think you can if it's runed, just like with weapons?

Right, but in the past, I think you could customize without it having a rune. Now, I think that will be a requirement.

Hm... well. Probably they'll set it like forged items, so it needs a rune to reset/non decay, but can still be customized if you really really want to throw your credits away. *coughs* Or maybe they'll just leave it as-is. smile.gif

I think it's this way, kind of like there are custom arti weapons that are not runed. *point thorgal*

Moving runes shouldn't cost anything, even for weapons. Never made sense to me that you have to pay for it again to move it. It's not the effect will stick on the old one.

The biggest issue with weapons is that warriors often use different sets of weapons for different occasions. I don't want someone plucking their wounding and electric runes off of their rapiers and sticking them onto the broadswords when the poor merian walks into the room.
Sylphas2005-12-13 06:15:07
Why not? The cost of warrior equipment is already by FAR the highest in the game. I've been running around without even having robes, and as long as I don't fight warriors, it doesn't matter (I bash fine without them). If they go through the extra expense of having another set of weapons forged, why make them spend an extra 300cr on top of that? Do mages/guardians have to an extra artifact for each class/race they fight?
